OK, now back to reality.....hang in there. We are closer than we have ever been....it's time RIGHT NOW to make sure you have all your loose ends tied up. We are on the cusp of graduating from living from paycheck to paycheck.
Oh, I so hooooooope you are correct!!! Things are certainly looking better but afraid to get too excited just yet. Lordy, I am so ready for this venture to come to fruition.

I would rather they quit talking about it and just do it. Militarily, it doesn't make sense to me that they would keep giving a timeline but I do think Mosul being freed of ISIS is important to us so the sooner, the better. IMHO

Oh wow sorry about that.....the Bama Girl and I had a bet a few years back when it was Alabama and the Sooners for the championship and the Sooners rolled over some tide and the bet was she has to wear a MooMoo...but it was all in good fun.
LOL, now I will bet on the Tide anytime but fortunately for me and the moo moo, it was the other Bamagirl that bet with you. I am from Alabama originally but have lived in Florida since 1968. I still love the Tide though.

The reason for not passing the oil and gas law in the two previous parliamentary sessions is a political and not a technical, noting that some of the blocks and authorities see that the law Acarar opposed to political and partisan interests.
Can you say "Maliki's bunch"? Where IS that rope?

I was trying to find where to post the same question pokerplayer. I think of texstorm and his family often and can only imagine what that whole family is going through. I hope there is someone on this board who knows the family and will keep us all posted. We care.

I long for the day when that low life blackguard Maliki is behind bars. Surely the Iraqi government has a good reason for not already arresting him and they probably do.

I feel sure that any main assault on Fallujah will include some Americans and I pray fervently for their safety. Our forces have already lost many lives and limbs over there in years past so I hope this time when Iraq is liberated, it will stay so. Jmho ?

The invasion of the Green Zone and Parliament appears to have been more than "a political statement". I wonder how long it will take to clean up all the mess?

I don't post much, just read a lot. I feel more encouraged right now than I have felt in a long time. We are moving forward imo. ?

i have asked myself this question many times and the more i questioned myself the more i realized that my initial expectations were heavily shaped by the rv propaganda of gurus. as time progressed and i began to study the topic for myself, i realized the difficulties that lie ahead of real regime change.
Mercy, I so agree with this statement of yours Trinity. I use to read and listen to the gurus which led me to believe that "it" could happen any day. Now, I read and study for myself which has made me realize that it was futile thinking before. I also agree with your synopsis of current news. I am not sure we would be seeing the progress if it had not been for Sistani getting involved. Jmho. Thanks for all of your contribution to this forum

BAGHDAD — Tens of thousands of angry Iraqis took to the streets to demand changes to their government Friday in a potent challenge to Prime Minister Haidar al-Abadi from his own Shiite constituency, including the country’s powerful militias.
Chanting crowds thronged Baghdad’s central Tahrir Square and jammed the main streets around it]
Unfortunately, I smell Maliki and Iran behind these demonstrations. I hope I am wrong, but don't think so. It is more than coincidence that this occurs right after Maliki's visit to Iran. IMHO

I voted NO! Not because I am a Mod and the extra work involved but because I hold dinar and whether we like it or not, ISIS has a big bearing on when and if Iraq becomes stable enough to initiate and RI/RV. ISIS has already created enough division and uproar between the Kurds and Baghdad to start the "divide Iraq" propaganda machine. If we ignore ISIS /shove it off into another forum/ are we really going to have a clear big picture of what is happening and/or could happen in Iraq?
I say keep it in open view so we are prepared for whatever happens.
Just my
I agree with Granny. IMHO, ISIS is the main reason that is preventing economic and political stability that we are told Iraq needs for us to realize the RV.

I sure like the sound of these words. Just hope the talks happen soon and the talks are effective. I recall a few years ago that we had articles about Citibank going into Iraq but it was just talk due to Maliki, (the goon, grrrrrrr) was still in office. This article sounds more serious to me. Jmo.
