  1. None that I can recall. But a google search lead me to this article from yesterday.

(Reuters) - When Iraq's Deputy Prime Minister Hussain al-Shahristani met Exxon Mobil executives in Baghdad two months ago, he could hardly control his emotions. His anger boiling over, the Iraqi oil chief threatened to kick the Americans out of the country.

    http://in.reuters.com/article/2012/09/06/us-iraq-oil-kurdistan-idINBRE8850JA20120906

Sounds kinda the other way around to me!

    Hey Deb!

You are still around, good to see a post. I do not post here very often. Just wanted to say hello. I will get fried for just doing that. A couple of years ago I said that I thought Okie was a idiot. In a few seconds I was - 17 times. These folks now rip Okie for fun. Go figure!!! Anyway, good to see you! Take care.

  4. There are no Capital gains, because it does not fall under cap gains. It is ordinary income. Go to tax discussion on the main page, and please read what Exec has posted about this. Take the time for yourself to do it. You make the mistake of not paying what you need to, you will pay in the end. I am not going to advise people anymore about the tax issue. Read what Exec has to say first. Take the time and read it. Then come back and say, Draco he is wrong, you need to read what we have found. And I will. Thanks

  5. ...crack? That'll crack the engine block of an old cadillac!! That would be your backup weapon when bear hunting...hehe...wink.gif

That is funny you say that. When I was 12, fishing in Alaska, my Pop made me carry a gun. He wanted me to carry the .44 mag. It scared the hell out of me. So he got me a Ruger Sercurity Six .357 mag. Still have it today. If I knew what I know now, should have went with the .44. Never did see a bear, but I am sure that they did see me.

  6. Not really, bro, most dept's are making their way/have made their way to the .40 S+W round. I was looking forward to moving onto a heavier round after leaving the big city, but this new dept is also still stuck in "9mm" land. Crap round, unless you get +p+ ammo, just gotta make sure the frame can handle it.

That was the same with 10mm being a mag round. The CIA was the first to pick them up. But after they used them, some of the weapons frames had cracked. I also read that one of their people had their wrist broke while shooting. So they went to the .40. Who knows. I know one thing for sure, it does not kick like my pop's .44 mag. Blackhawk.

  7. Sig Sauer P226 9mm, which happened to be the same duty carry pistol I retired with from NYPD. It was nice to not have to spend too much time training with a new shoot, the only difference is that the old NYPD version is a DAO with a 12 lb trigger, and this one is a double/single with around a 7 lb trigger.

Well my guess was way off. I love my Ruger P89 9mm. But the place I go to renew my CCW said "you have to get something bigger boy" So I bought a Lama 45. To many safes on this gun to make it CCW. I then bought a GLOCK 20C 10mm. Great weapon. Even Uncle Ted loves them. Ammo is high dollar though. Just have to get some 40 dies and reload my own. Thanks.

I have a pointy stick. Very pointy.

Well, you know what they say, walk tall and carry a big stick. Or, in your case, one that is pointy. Works good for small rodents, and possum!

  8. As a tool, I love Benchmade. I have a 4 inch Ruckus droppoint, it's taken a beating, still sharp as ever...

...but as a tactical weapon, you gotta check out the Microtechs!! WOW they're awesome...

Thanks, I will. What is your primary weapon? I am guessing GLOCK 40 cal.

  9. Hey OTF, just curious, is your screenname the acronym for Out-The-Front, as in the auto-switchblades?

I carry two, by Microtech...the Makora II for off-duty, and the Combat Troodon while on duty. Truly the BEST OTFs on the market!!

Kqrshaw works for me. Not really a switch blade. Just spring assist.

  10. Less than one year - 35% tax until O screws with it

Long term capital gains - 15% tax until O screws with it

If the IRS wants anymore out of me, well come and find me. Oh and by the way Mr. IRS Agent, bring sunscreen !!

The only thing they have to find is the money, wihich is easy for the IRS. Anywhere in the world. Unless you have it buried in the sand next to you? Maybe we are on to something now.

  11. This is part of the problem ... we all just go along and pay, pay, pay regardless of what may be the right or ethical thing. Those kind of taxes are theivery, pure and simple!!!

We go along with it because it is the Tax law, whether it is right, wrong or just down right theivery. The question is, would you rather be on the beach, in the mountains or what ever you like to do with your new wealth, or be in Tax Court trying to prove you are right when they say you are guilty of tax fraud when you walk in the door. Myself, I am going to take the least path of resistance. Pay more now, and maybe later I will take on the Big Bad IRS. Right, I would lose even later. Pay the tax and move on. GO RV!!!

  12. Ambush_gorilla, I appreciate the time you spent talking to the IRS agents, many of which are complete ignorant bozo's that could never cut it in the private sector, but the info that they gave you is WRONG!

And the problem is that this is not a "personal" transaction. It is an investment. And as such does not fall under the section 525 of the IRS code that you stated. It falls under section 833, and is taxed as "regular income".

If you only pay the capital gains rate, in about 2 years the IRS will come back to you, tell you that you owe them the additional dollars, plus interest, plus penalties, and it will end up costing you over 50% of your profits.

Just pay them the 35% as soon as you cash in your dinars and be done with it. If the IRS subsequently makes a ruling that you owe less, (not likely), they will send you a refund. Just pay it and forget it.

You nailed it on this post. ExecConsult said these same words. In the end, why risk it. Pay the 35% plus state tax and go from there.

  13. Remember in our battle to overthrow "SH" from power that there was news all over the place where soldiers had found several houses with hoards of US Dollars? I remember that some of the soldiers got it trouble for trying to pocket some....question here is.....where did all that yacht load of cash go? Does the US have it....do we give it back or have we given it back or what? There had to be billions there? Any takers on this question

I remember that too. It was long ago. My understanding is that it was frozen with the rest of their assets. Gold etc. But who knows, very well could have lined the pockets of corrupt people. It was cash. Easy to make go away.

    Draco

  14. some say you will be taxed according to what tax bracket you fell in when you filed your taxes for '09.

That would be nice for some I guess, but I think it will just be, you made X amount of dollars and this is what bracket you fall in. And we will all be in the top "35%" bracket if this goes as planned.

    Draco

PS Unless this goes into next year and I hope it does not. May be 38% if they do not keep the Bush tax in place.

    U193 ;)
