I thought I should pass this on. An Iraqi Lawmaker stated that Iraqiya believes it can no longer form a government. The positives have been few to form a United GOI. However a member of the Iraqi Chamber stated today (Wednesday) that the PARLIMENT WILL MEET MONDAY 11-08-10 TO ELECT A SPEAKER to help ignite the formation of the new GOI. As it stands with the winning blocs, Maliki could very well now win reappointment as PM as 30 parlimentarians said they intend to back Maliki or WHATEVER WINNER has 51% of the Ni to form the GOI.
It looks like evryone is getting fed up with the games and now just want to get it done. HOWever Barzani and al-Sadr stated Maliki should not act as though the PM was guaranteed to HIM as a REAL finale decision has not been made complete. This to me is another positive push to form the new GOI. Maybe there is a light at the end of this tunnel. I have never really cared who gets what as long as it gets done soon. One push closer to the RV.

Dirk what you are saying could very well be the case. The fighting between the winning blocs has thrown everything back some no doubt. One of the plus factors is that Iraq is working hard to join the WTO so this will help move things along I believe. It is a mess in Iraq but it does seem to be slowly cleaning up toward the formation of the GOI. I in no way feel you should have received any negatives for your post. Hang in there.

The problem that is on the rise is that the Itaqi people support their chosen Blocks and these faction are fighting with each other on which block should form the GOI. If this GOI is not formed soon the violence will continue to grow and could possibly become a civil war between the factions and the Blocks they support. Let us PRAY it does not come to that.

Short and to the point. The Blocks have been given a six day (down to 5 now) deadline to form a plan which will lead to the quick formation of the GOI or face intervention to end the deadlock of the GOI. The choices must be made and ready to announce in the upcoming meeting in Arbil early next week. I hope this works.

Some of you may already know this but I was asked to share it. Iraqi Representatives met in negociations with members of the WTO Tuesday 11-02-10 in review of Iraqs standing for membership to the WTO. To get right to the point everything is inplace except the request by the WTO for Iraq to RV the dinar closer to or greater than the USD. The WTO said Iraq has the capacity to support the Iraqi Dinar. So I think this will also put the pressure on Iraq to RV the dinar sooner than later.

So now all we need to know is WHAT will a 25,000 Dinar note be Worth during this EXCHANGE.I wish they would hurry up and just do it,RV. No Rick I DO NOT BELIEVE THEY WILL LOP. The recent meeting between the WTO and Iraq indicates they are going to RV closer to the USD which is required by the WTO for Iraqi to become a member. Iraq has worked long and hard for this and WILL RV to get it done.

Steve I believe they are saying they want to RV and strengthen the dinar but DID not know exactly how to go about it. They have already looked into how other countries accomplished their RV,s as said in the last paragraph above and have proceed from there. I really believe thay have already done this and do know how they are going to RV the dinar. Like most Iraqi news releases they are unsually days behind on these releases sometimes. This may be the case here as I truely believe the RV plan is ready. Recently reported news that Iraq is <READY NOW> to become a member of the WTO which means they HAVE the RV PLAN ready and know how the RV will be done and initiated. I guess time will tell but I feel very confident on this.

Steve, after the info I got tonight I DO NOT think they will delete zeros at all. I now think when they say this they are really talking about taking them out of circulation. You can't just say the 000 notes are deleted or no good. They HAVE TO HONOR THEM REGUARDLESS. They will put the new denominations in circulation with the old ones and remove the old 000 notes gradually. It now makes perfect since to me and this is the only logical way to do it without to much turmoil and confusion.

Was this taken from several articles/websites or from one?? I have read and heard the end of year sevral times on the removal of larger notes. Things have changed so many times I can't believe much of this anymore. I do appreciate your post but would like to know how recent this information is and how you pieced it together. I have not heard the part about smaller denoms being released before an RV. Very interesting. Thanks for your post and feedback. GO RV!!
As I said some of us have heard some of this before but I have never had info on how they are going to do it until tonight. I actually got this news from my hero in Baghdad. We call him Arinai and I will leave it at that. If all goes well and we have a BIG GET TOGETHER after the RV Arinai will be there if you would like to meet him. I would like to add that he has NEVER BEEN WRONG on any of his information. Alot of times he gives me info that the media has not got here yet and you can ask around about that. Keep the faith, it will happen.

This is based on recent presentations to the Iraqi people of how the new denominations will be introduced into the Iraqi monetary system. Some of the following information some of us may have already heard in bits but It explains how this will work and I think it is worth passing on.
This information comes from the Office of the Iraqi Finance Minister and the CBI Advisory Panel. The CBI and Iraq Finance Minister plan to increase the value of the Iraqi Dinar and at the same time introduce the new smaller denominations by the end of 2010. They plan to fully introduce the new smaller denominations with the old dinar notes still in circulation and will gradually remove the old notes from circulation which are the 000 notes many of us hold now with the possible exception of the 1000 dinar note. Both the OLD AND THE NEW SMALLER DINAR NOTES WILL COEXIST FOR AN EXTENDED PERIOD OF TIME to maintain the stability of the economy and to help limit confusion. THE OLD AND THE NEW WILL BE LEGAL TENDER until the current bank notes to be removed are all removed from circulation. No time limit on this removal procedure has been mentioned. The new denominations are 1/4, 1/2, 1, 5, 10, and 25 dinar notes and possibly 1/10 and 1/20 notes or coins. The implementation of the new denominations points to a positive increase in the VALUE OF THE DINAR. Arinai also advises there is the possiblity the RV MAY NOT HAPPEN UNTIL AFTER THE NEW SMALLER DENOMINATIONS ARE RELEASED AND IN CIRCULATION ACCORDING TO THE CBI ADVISORY PANEL. So when we see the smaller notes being released we will KNOW THE RV IS NOT FAR BEHIND. The Office of the Iraq Finance Minister said IRAQ IS HELD TO support IT'S CURRENCY AT HOME AND AROUND THE WORLD AT THE SAME VALUE and not to elude a further increase or decrease of the dinar according to the Iraqi Economy AFTER REVALUATION HAS OCCURRED. In ending the PANEL said ALL CURRENCY WAS ISSUED WITH AN OBLIGATION TO HONOR IT - ALL OF IT - NOT JUST CERTAIN DENOMINATIONS.
I don't know about you guys but this info has answered some questions for me and shines some light on what we need to watch for on the coming of the RV. At any rate this is solid info and I hope it helps ease some worries some of us may have. I'm really feeling good about this deal and I will continue to do my best with the help of my good friend Arinai to bring you all the GOOD NEWS I CAN. Keep the faith family and we will talk later.

I believe all the info on the Sunday meetings is up to date with the exception of the following. This info has not been released yet and as I understand may not be. This is a little scrammbled I will break it down the best I can.
Per Arinai several Notable Iraqi Organizations combined of a PETITION DEMANDING THE FORMATION OF THE GOI by the end of Nov or the DEMAND FOR NEW ELECTIONS TO BE HELD under the Iraqi Constitution within days of 90 there in BY MAJORITY VOTE THE WINNER to form the GOI legal by the Constitution Under Iraqi Laws which are already in violation by the winning blocs at present. To restore honor to Iraq and place her where she SHOULD STAND IN THE WORLD COMMUNITY AS A NATION> The PEOPLES OF IRAQ ARE AT END WITH THE PRESENT SITUATION OF IRAQ AND HER LEADERS AND THE SUFFERING OF THE PEOPLE OF IRAQ BY THEIR INABILITY TO CEASE THE CRISIS AND FORM IRAQ"S GOVERNMENT> The Blocs must find UNITY and AGREEMENT TO AVOID LOSS AND CONSEQUENCES OF THE FUTURE>
I think the Iraqi people are saying enough is enough and they have drawn a line and a time table for the Blocs to form the GOI. The Blocs as you probably already know will now meet 2 times a day until the GOI is formed. Lets hope this PETITION speeds the formation GOI up. More later.

Ok it's about 6pm in Baghdad. There was another big meeting to discuss the formation of the GOI. This whole GOI arena is a cluster at this time. There are so many DEMANDS being put forth by each bloc that the whole deal has become a joke in the eyes of all watching this CIRCUS. Saudi Arabia is now involved and pushing for agreements between the blocs. The List has 3 new demands on 1. approval by all 2.distribution of power and posts, 3.who sits in Gov positions. The Kurds have as you know nominated Talibani for POR and at this time WILL NOT bend on this and refuse to change this nomination. This list of problems goes on. I hope to have info on the MEETING from today a little later. Hang in there.

Iraqi lawmakers are calling for an investigation and possible prosecution Of al-Maliki. An outside source has allegedly passed info that Maliki was in fact behind hidious acts against the Iraqi people during the height of the war not to exclude murder, torture and ordered assasinations. Also claimed that Maliki used his position of power in ways of a criminal nature and not in the intrest of the Iraqi people. A petition requesting the inquiry has been signed by at least 52 high level Iraqis. The Iraqi Lawmakers will ask Washiongton to help in the possible up coming investigation on Maliki. Many are now claiming Maliki unfit to lead the Iraqi Gov. If he is guilty I hope he pays the prise. we will see where this goes if any where. More later.

Unfortunately the Iraqi people are just as confused as we are. They are hearing the tales of the two headed dragon also. My contact has been excellent and when he sorts it out I will pass it on. I could post but it the same ole stuff repeating its self again. Maliki is in Allawis out Allawi in Maliki is out, The Kurds are going with Maliki, The Kurds are going with Allawi bottom line the Kurds may be splitting to. Its all up in the air so be patient and lets hope it don't go back to GROUND ZERO>

I have not reported the last few days because of the quickly changing info coming out of Baghdad. One day it s Maliki the next its Allawi or someone else. Even the Iraqi people are confused to what is really going on. The info was the Kurds were leaning toward Maliki unoffically, then the Iraqi List announced they had come to terms with the Kurds. At this point it is UNKNOWN who will actually get the support of the Kurds reguardless of what the media is reporting. Arinai is working on sorting the BS from the facts and I hope to get solid info after the BIG meeting in Baghdad Sunday. More later

This question(s) goes out to Phoenix, Viper51, or anyone who may have the answer. When I joined DV in 09 Maliki was officially PM. Everyone was expecting him to pull the trigger for the RV 09 and the thought was he would easily be elected come March 2010. Why didn't he pull the RV trigger in 09? Do you believe he will do the same thing if and when he becomes PM in 2010? Thanks
Its anyones guess as to why he did not RV in 09. The list of reasons could be quite long. Maybe he was unsure of being reelected and would lose out for sure if he RV'd in 09. Maliki is the only one that can answer this question accurately.

PM on Iraqi Dinar Re-evaluation

Iraqi Prime Minister Nouri al-Maliki said on Sunday that the process to re-evaluate the Iraqi dinar has to do with economic conditions that have to be strengthened.
“The Iraqi dinar has every reason to grow stronger thanks to an increase in revenues and development of the economy,” Maliki said in response to questions through the National Information Center.
“The government would not rush matters but would rather work on finding guarantees to render this measure a success. The Central Bank of Iraq (CBI) is currently entrusted with drawing up a study on the whole issue and would give its decision soon,” said the Iraqi premier.
The Iraqi dinar’s exchange rate is suffering from low value against foreign currencies as a result of decades of wars and economic embargo that brought the local currency’s exchange rate to the rock bottom from three dinars per dollar in the late 1970s and 1980s to 3,000 dinars per dollar after the 1990 invasion of Kuwait, followed by a 13-year crippling sanctions regime.
The exchange rate fell even more after 2003 to reach 1170 dinars per dollar due to the CBI’s policy of daily auction, in effect for more than five years now.
The policy was lambasted by several economists on the grounds that these auctions do not give the real value of the country’s local currency.

In a news conference yesterday Maliki was asked about the revaluation of the dinar. Maliki said the process to revalue the dinar has to do with the economic condition of Iraq which has to be strengthened. Maliki said the dinar has every reason to grow stronger thanks to the increase in revenues and developement of the economy. Maliki said the GOI will not rush the RV of the dinar as to guarantee the measure a success. The CBI has been intrusted to draw up the plans for the coming RV of the Iraqi dinar and will present its finding soon. IMO the CBI has already done this and is ready to RV when given the go ahead. It gets better all the time. More later.

Who pursued the policy of broad consumer spending Bcatrih military and civil cause of the deterioration of the Iraqi dinar to the bottom so that the purchasing power of the Iraqi dinar today fils Iraqi equivalent prices in 1988.
That monetary policy Iraqi conscious exercised by the Central Bank of Iraq's current political circumstances, economic, social, very difficult, and hanging over the fact of the bombings and the destruction of infrastructure, but the Iraqi Central Bank was able to achieve balance and stability of the Iraqi dinar, to maintain the cover of the Iraqi currency (reserve currency foreign and gold) in spite of government pressure, the use of this balance in public investment, but the Central Bank of Iraq has managed to fend off these pressures, and work according to the contexts of the global central banks
The issuance of the new Iraqi dinar should not be designed to delete the zeros, but must be placed a price equivalent to the U.S. dollar, the fact that the Middle East regions of the dollar, it must be new dinar equation:
New Iraqi Dinars IQD is equivalent to 1220 and added to the cost of issuing one new dinar.
And be here the issuance process meaningful is not the deletion of zeros, but the withdrawal of currency excess of the market and therefore absorb part of the inflated prices, and facilitate the process of trade, and improving financial control of the governmental apparatus, and to facilitate the feasibility studies for investment projects, and raise administrative efficiency. And reduce the phenomenon of administrative corruption.

What they did not say in this release was that Dr Hayali and members of the Ministry of Finance had a meeting with officials from the WORLD TRADE ORG. who AGAIN advised the Iraqi that the dinar HAD TO BE RV'd closer or equivlant to the USD value. Shabibi and the CBI have IMO known for a while what the value of the dinar is as possibly being used in the figures of the 2011 budget. It really looks like it is all coming together. Keep your fingers crossed and hope for the best SOON>
