Nice job Steve, all is looking good right now and there are some HAPPY PEOPLE gathering in the streets of Baghdad and there is a little celebrating but also some skeptics. All are holding their breath and HOPING FOR AN END TO THIS CRISIS. Are we dreaming or are we really this close.

Well maybe our prayers have been answered. Parliment WILL BE held Thursday for the start of the arrangment of the NEW GOI. It appears all is going well in the negociations between the blocks and there are no HUGE hangups at this time on forming the GOI Keep your fingers crossed. There were some announcements, It looks like Allawi will possibly be the President of Parliment or President of the Republic and will participate in the New GOI. . Tomarrow could be the start of a VERY BIG DAY for Iraq and for all of us. I hope to have more later. Keep PRAYING as it IS LOOKING GOOD>

Wednesday 11-10-10 4:30 AM Baghdad Ok my friends this is not etched in stone but here are the last of the rumors from the big city for tonight. It is being said Maliki is in position for PM, A canadate from the Iraqi LIst will possibly be getting President of the Republic (no name given) and the Kurdish blocks may get the Presidency of the Parliment and the Political Council for National Security. The problem to look for is the Iraqi List also wants the Presidency of Political Council and National Security which does not look out of reach for The List at this time. It is very possible some of these announcements COULD BE MADE TODAY ( (Wednesday 11-10-10)) in Baghdad. It appears for the first time ALL BLOCKS ARE WORKING HARD TO END THE CRISIS OF FORMING THE NEW GOI in compliance as ordered by the Iraqi Federal Gov. Thursday 11-10-10. Hold your breath people and pray it don't blow up again.

Hey Railroader, good to see you are still keepin on. I would just like to say it would only make since that they withhold the names of possible nominees of positions as the SECURITY over there is not that great. The chosen leaders are definately in danger and it would not be wise to announce them before they were in the safety of the Parliment chambers when those announcements are made. So don't be to hard on him my friend as the info is probably logically correct. Keep the faith and I will talk to you soon.

He pointed out that "the absence of Allawi and al-Hashemi for today's meeting was not due to rejection, but for health reasons, they have sent high-level delegation and that he would attend tomorrow's meeting and non-attendance was for this reason and not to the command of another, either by the withdrawal of Mr. Hakim and Mr. Adel Abdul Mahdi, was due to their previous deadlines have been confirmed their presence before they are participating in the meeting even at eight and a half and was pulled out within the time agreed upon in advance, either the question of postponement of the parliamentary session for Thursday will be postponed or Add photos at a meeting on Wednesday.

Viper: I dont like his website...but just checked out AC's website who claims he either been to the meeting tonight or has connections. His claim is the meeting Thursday is canceled and accomplished nothing but face time for some opposing parties ....what's your take on this? Thanks for any info....
As it stands right now the meeting of Parliment will happen Thursday. The Blocks are said to be RACING to be ready for Thursdays meeting with their picks for positions. Lets hope they get the job done this time.

Wednesday Nov 10 12:40 AM Baghdad Per Arinai The Iraq News Agency reports that Allawi missed the meetings today due to illness and may not be able to attend tomarrow but will have Representatives present at the meetings. If this is fact that is good news. It means Allawi has not actually refused to attend the meetings. Lets hope the ball keeps rolling.

I would like to thank you for your information and confirm your post as 100% correct. It has been reported this morning that the Kurdish coalition is backing Maliki and Barzani said parliament would meet on Thursday to choose a speaker, the first step towards forming a new government.
I found this to be the best news of the day. Thank you so much Viper51 and God Bless.

At 0850 PM Baghdad it was just announced that Allawi had sent a finale proposal on paper to Maliki to construct the start of the formation of the GOI at Thursdays Meeting of Parliment. It is not known what Allawi is requesting from Maliki. Allawi did however state that Maliki's acceptance of this paper or most there of WILL RESULT IN A GOI OF NATIONAL UNITY successful for an end to the crisis. Thats all I have for now but hope to get more info soon.

Could it be? Does anyone have any other verifiable intel to support this?
Its 0228 hrs in Baghdad I have heard nothing offically. They made some head way today lets hope it will happen on Thursday. I will pass on any info I get.

]I always check the OANDA converter web site and the Google translate for the current ID rate. It is always the same. The OANDA site has the current rate, Google has been off for some time. Anyway, OANDA is showing 1 USD = 1,165.00 ID. Go the other way and put in the Dinar first and it is 1 ID + 0.00085. Next go to the Google site It shows 1 USD = .32 ID. Go the other way it is 1 ID = 3.1 USD. This is crazy!!! Has anyone seen this happen?

With all the news coming out of Iraq about the REAL POSSIBILTY THE GOI will be formed in the next few days is GOOD NEWS FOR ALL OF US. We have all been on this up and down ride for awhile now and somewhat mentally worn out. There have been good times and bad times but we STUCK IT OUT TOGETHER. We supported each other and became friends and FAMILY. This blessing that brought us together even though we dont really know each other has given us friends we would never have had. What I;m getting at is it seems that there are some arguments developing about who was right, who was wrong, he said, she said. All that does not matter. Don't lose sight of the fact this is hopefully coming down to what we have ALL prayed for and WE got through it TOGETHER. So it does not matter who was right or wrong, what does matter is WE GOT THROUGH THIS TOGETHER. There have been alot of people obtaining and passing on information . I can't speak for others but I do it because I care about you the people I have met here on DV. So this thing may becoming to an end, even so DO NOT LET ANYTHING change what we here at DV are <FAMILY>. WE started this with HONOR and DIGNITY TOGETHER so if it is to end lets end it with HONOR and DIGNITY and most of all LETS REMAIN FAMILY. Stand Strong and God Bless all of you

The information that has been coming out of Iraq is that MALIKI WILL REMAIN PM< TALIBANI WILL REMAIN PRES and that ALLAWI has been offered THE NATIONAL COUNCIL OF STRATIGIC POLICES and PARLIMENT SPEAKER to start the formation of the new GOI. This info is very good but I hope you understand this is NOT OFFICAL YET. Although the Blocs have reached a TENTATIVE agreement IT IS NOT A DONE DEAL until they are voted in at the THURSDAY meeting of PARLIMENT. There are meetings between the blocs occurring as we speak everyday as the blocs MUST be PREPARED tor the THURSDAY MEETING OF PARLIMENT and ready to pick the three PRESIDENCIES. If these positions are picked and passed THIS WILL BE the start of the formation of the new GOI. EVERYTHING AT THIS POINT boils down to the meeting THURSDAY to accomplish AT LEAST the 3 GOI STARTING POSITIONS. I think all the Blocs and their leaders understand that if this THURSDAY MEETING fails to produce the start of the GOI there are possible criminal investigations and lawsuits waiting in the wings along with the possiblity of a NEW ELECTION. LETS ALL PRAY THUSDAYS MEETING GOES WELL AND THEY ANNOUNCE OFFICALLY THE FORMATION OF THE <NEW GOI>

Yes this is also possible but we really won't know What the new GOI will choose to do as it will be their decision what route to take on recommendations from the involved ministries.

Ok you may know this or you may not but I will pass it on anyway. I had asked Arinai to check into the alleged show that was going to be aired on Iraqi TV ref the new Iraqi notes and the redomination. Here is what Arinai found out. Please realize that iraqis only have power for 3 or 4 hours a day if at all so it is unknown how many actually got to see this TV presentation on the redomination. It took Arinai around 3 weeks to get what he got and he covered alot of ground to do it. I appreciate his efforts and I hope you do to. Here is what he gave me. This like putting together bits and pieces so PLEASE bare with us. I will try to keep in order as much as possible.
The Dinar Redomination Program was aired on ALSUMARIA TV on 10-22-10 time unknown. It reported that in 2007 the Iraq Central Bank developed a strategic plan called the IRAQI CURRENCY REVALUATION PROJECT. This project was recommended by the SUPREME ECONOMIC COMMITEE attached to the MINISTERIAL COUNCIL and supported by the IRAQ FINANCES MINISTRY for the purpose of the REDOMINATION of the IRAQI NATIONAL CURRENCY by the REMOVAL OF ZEROS FROM THE IRAQI CURRENCY. IRAQI CENTRAL BANK ADVISOR MAZHAR MOHAMMED said that removing the zeros will have to be done through consultation with THE NEXT GOVERNMENT to be passed. This project must be weighed by the good of it and the bad of it. The bad is that it could at first negatively affect the Iraqi citizens with confusion but will improve the foreign exchange transactions and make bank deposits and withdrawls easier.
Here are the names of some of the Special speakers on this presentation 1.Baghdad Investment Committee Spokeman - Thaer Al Fili 2.Iraqi Central Bank Advisor - Mazhar Mohammed 3.Head of Iraqi Business Union - Ragheb Rida 4. Iraqi Economist Majed Al Souri There were others but we did not get the namnes or there positions. They were asked some of the following questions
1.WHAT IS THE EFFECT OF REMOVING THE ZEROS <answer> (RIDA) There should be no major affect. The change will Basically improve the ease of transactions of buying and business with a more convenient national currency with the new currency being AT THE SAME VALUE OR POSSIBLY MORE PENDING.
2.IS IRAQ"S ECONOMY PREPARED FOR SUCH A CHANGE <answer> (Al Souri) ABSOLUTELY. Iraq's financial position is improving steadily and CAN support THIS CHANGE with little problem EVEN IF THE DINAR VALUE WERE TO BE INCREASED.
3.WHEN WILL THIS PROJECT BEGIN <answer> (Mohammed) The implementation of any redomination of Iraq's National Currency will be decided by the government incoming. I believe the goal would be before the end of the year if possible under present conditions. Mohammed also said this would not cause or prevent further inflation of the dinar.
There were also regular citizens interviewed but we have none of that info
Thats all we were able to get and Arinai broke it down for me as best he could. Hopefully this info will answer some questions you may have had. What was given has heightened my hopes and I think we are a little closer now.

It's a question that none of us can answer definitively.
1) is the reporting of such a thing just a lie?
2) is it a system test?
3) is it a tease?
4) is it being published so that someone (whale/shark) can cash in?
5) is it a simple mistake? IT guy messes up
6) is it a pumper? some of the sightings are sponsored by vendors

First of all very good line up Doc. #2 would be the logical answer as the currency sites will watch for how many hits they get in a certain period of time with a new rate change. Kind of checking out the water before the tide comes in.

There are several demonstrations going on daily at political locations throughout Iraq. Demands are being made for the immediate formation of the GOI. The recent Increase in violence and bombings have angered the Iraqi People who hold all in the Iraqi Political Relm RESPONCIBLE for the state of the country and the LACK OF SECURITY AND STABILITY.
Under pressure the ACTING SPEAKER OF PARLIMENT calls for a meeting early this coming week to put to an end the crisis and TO START THE FORMATION OF THE NEW GOI. These Organizations are questioning Maliki's ability to run the country due to the lack of control across the country that is now under his control. It is rumored that it is believed that FORCES UNDER MALIKI'S CONTROL ARE RESONCIBLE FOR SOME OF THE BOMBINGS AND VIOLENCE. The protesting by non-Gov Organizations also include Iraq's largest TRADE UNIONS who are protesting around the clock in front of the Iraqi Council of Representatives in Baghdad. Law suits have been filed by these organizations against politicals involved for VIOLATION OF THE IRAQI CONSTITUTION and specifically the President of the House of Reps.. It appears the people have had enough and on the virge of a possible act against the political basket of players who are failing to form the GOI for the good of the PEOPLE and Iraq as whole. A call for A NEW ELECTION WILL BE PUT FORTH IF THE PARTICIPANTS OF POLITICAL ARE NOT WELL INTO THE ACTUAL AND REAL FORMATION OF THE GOI FOR THE GOOD OF IRAQ WITHIN THE NEXT TWO WEEKS.

What are your thoughts re - the talk of postponing mondays parliment to a later date? Is this accurate ino or is it smoke and mirrors? Also if the 50 members plus al - iraqia do not show for parliment will maliki and the kurds be able to form the govt without them?

I dont think they can afford to postpone long if at all and the Federal Court will probably not let them unless it was to get full attendance to the meeting by all blocs. We shall see.

Representatives from the US and the UK will sit in on the ROUND TABLE MEETING this coming Monday. Melkert and a US Ambassador will offer what advise they can to solve the crisis of the forming of the GOI in THE VERY NEAR FUTURE. Also stated due to the fact there may not be a quroum those present may elect an INTERIM PRESIDENT and conduct the business of PASSING THE 2011 BUDGET. The House WILL EXCEPT A PROVISIONAL PRESIDENT for the purpose of the 2011 BUDGET. This could mean we will find out what dinar rate the budget was figured on.
The Iraqi List may not attend as they feel this meeting is also a scheme to renew the mandate of Maliki for the position of PM which the List and others are strongly opposed to. The Supreme Council is now considering an alliance with Maliki which would put him over the top to form the GOI> Its getting interesting NOW. The Iraqis have to make BIG decisions FAST. Lets see how the coming week plays out. More later.
