Turkey’s Central Bank Announces New Measures to Boost Lira

ISTANBUL—Turkey’s central bank on Friday announced fresh measures on lira liquidity management to prop up the currency, in a move to raise borrowing costs for banks.

The central bank said in a statement that it halved banks’ borrowing limits at the interbank money market to 11 billion Turkish lira to become effective Monday.
