BAGHDAD, Dec 19 (KUNA) -- Around 41 people were killed and 12 others injured in a suicide bombing south of the Iraqi capital, Iraqi police stated on Thursday.
A suicide bomber blew himself up amidst a parade of people in Dora district, southern Baghdad, while they were marching to the city of Karbala to visit a holy religious shrine, killing 41 as a result and injuring 12 others.
The injured were transported to nearby hospitals, Iraqi police told Kuwait News Agency (KUNA).
The police said that the suicide attack was the most violent so far against parades of Karbala visitors.
