  1. well, it's great to see some learning going on, I'm all for that!
  2. good grief, do we not have better things to pick hairs over?? we will all feel better if can transmit a positive, encouraging attitude, while honoring our differences :-) Just my thoughts . . .
  3. No, it's a currency exchange on the order of what he does in CA, but he has assured everyone that his conversion rate will be higher than the bank's, especially if you bought your dinar from him :-) He is in the midst of getting final clearance for his bank in Baghdad, it is taking a little longer because it is owned by an American and not an Iraqi. Makes sense to me. And I heard, but not from the horses's mouth, that he is working to also establish a bank in CA, somewhere.
  4. I agree, Barbann, and I think it behooves us all to remember how restricted communication by email is -- no one can see our body language or hear our tone of voice, and that makes up 90% of communication. Often we may inadvertently sound cooler or more abrasive than we ever intended. I know I have been hurt by emails that were never intended to hurt -- and likewise, I know for a fact there have been times my emails have not been received in the Spirit they were intended. Hang loose and try to imagine the best before you imagine the worst! :-)
  5. well I'm interested in EVERYTHING, so bring it on -- and thanks!
  6. that is interesting, as the first people I heard were on board were BOA and Wachovia -- go figure, all I know is the woman in CA was adamant verging on nasty!
  7. thanks everyone, Yes, I was also thinking about going to Ali's in Nashville. By the way, if anyone is interested in a bank in Iraq, his will be paing the best rates and should have Iraqi govt clearance in 15 days :-)
  8. for what it's worth, a currency trader with expertise in Iraq and Kuwait just told me that there was no danger of a LOP, that strategy is used only in times of hyper inflation.
  9. well, this is weird. For the past couple of mos we have had a real song and dance trying to track down Bank of America, it was hard to get human contact and when you did they always said they knew nothing about de la rou machines and they did not trade Iraqi dinar, nor were they planning, too. So today, I repeated my footsteps expecting different news: small town local branch, then state capitol branch, then regional banking headquarters (Charlotte), then finally I got a number for their head currency office in CA -- same story: Iraqi dinar is too high risk, they have no plans of EVER exchanging it. Given that there is bound to be a ton of money to be made on the RV, what does this mean? They are in such poor shape fiscally, I would have expected them to be d-e-l-i-g-h-t-e-d. We have also had poor luck with Wachovia, can anyone recommend a major bank to deal with?? THanks for the help.
  10. Yes, did you miss that he said "let us HOPE IQD can be revalued at an appropriate rate to protect all he lives of . . . Iraqi children living below the poverty line"? Obviously you agree, their situation is pathetic.
  11. This was a great VOICE of REALITY post, THANK YOU! The only thing I can add is that when you ask why, if they know it's going to happen, aren't people running out buying more dinar? THEY ARE!! I read stats yesterday on the huge increase in orders each mo. DinarTrade posted something recently about being behind on filling orders b/c they were so swamped.
  12. you may be right :-) since you obviously have some expertise, it might be helpful if you were able to simply (in "posting for dummies" language) describe an issue and then give people a step by step methodology for dealing with it. I have found most techno wizards to be intuitive, having long forgotten all the steps they actually take. For example, what and where is the "quote button"?? Is it the quote key on your computer or the "reply with Quote" on the web site? I have never pushed that -- what would I see if I did? Let's face it we all have different strengths :-) and weaknesses :-(
  13. I just checked your link and it does look like something very worthwhile, whether or not Adam chooses to go with it is a great site to remember for future emergencies and maybe a good thing for town halls or churches to know about. I have heard that we should anticipate more on the "disaster" front, don't want to be a doomsayer but hopefully, forewarned is forearmed :-) Thanks!
  14. I'd love to learn more about currency, too. Thanks, Joanna
  15. never could find Adam's chat tonight, did anyone else? anyhing new and different to hear?? Thanks! jwb
  16. Hi, my name on the forum is jwb, I am very glad to be here. I've had a hard time getting myself signed on and have had a few false starts. Miracle of miracles it was easy this afternoon. Must have been my determination, I wanted to be a fly on the wall for Adam's chat tonight. The dinar topic is pretty new to me, but currency intriques me. Yes, I was a Believer right away. Whenever there is a huge need for money, and lets face it, most of the world is desperately waiting for a cash infusion, I think there will be ways, mostly hidden ways, to create it. The trick is knowing how, or better yet, aligning yourself with those who do. I'm so very grateful to have found, I think, a way to do that. It's like being on a rollercoaster, I'm glad to have the support of others who've ridden the beast before me :-) I honor and thank you all.
