"the end of this year or next year will work directly in the new Central Bank building." - Love their wording .. it leaves more questions than answers.Could be end of this year ,beginning of next year ,,, or could be another whole year of waiting... About time to call this the road to nowhere...

I realize I may not post much here , but I do pay attention to plenty.Often I prefer to read and do my research quietly..I can't point out links because primarily I read for my own education and not to pass along to some Sourire club. One thing that does stick out and in my memory however came from Adam a while back stating that things will be chaotic and confusing when they do finally get to this event.Posted the above without any endorsement either way for folks to use their own discernment.

  3. Here's a few encouraging stories.

May the elusive RV/RI be close at hand.

2-1-2016  Newshound Guru tlm724   Article quotes:  "Oil Minister Adel Abdul Mahdi, in his speech at the forum that there is a national agreement on the importance of re-establishing national oil company, according to a deliberate steps legally and economically to return to the normal situation for the oil sector...and that is every citizen shares in this company...and the law of oil and gas that will be passed"  thats very encouraging...in line with what came in the Iraqi constitution, the people are going to get their share of the oil profits finally!  *hallelujah*  awesome to see them move forward!!

2-1-2016   Newshound Guru Millionday  ...FEW DAYS AGO ABADI WAS GOING TO MEET WITH IMF AND THERE WAS TO BE AN ECONOMIC MEETING IN SWITZ -- THIS IS AN ANNOUNCEMENT FROM ABADI`S OFFICE CONCERNING THE RESULTS:  “we have coordinated with the Bank and the International Monetary Fund to develop a plan to overcome the financial crisis.”   IT APPEARS THAT A PLAN HAS BEEN CREATED TO BRING IRAQ BACK TO A HEALTHY ECONOMY.  SO AS WE SEE THEY ARE MOVING FORWARD WITH THE WORLD BANK AND THE IMF IN IRAQ TO OVERCOME THE FINANCIAL CRISIS IN IRAQ.

..and that is every citizen shares in this company...and the law of oil and gas that will be passed"

    Same ole bullfodder...

    • Miss Iraq 2015

A 20-year-old economics student has shaken off death threats to rivals and a barrage of criticism to be crowned the first official Miss Iraq since 1972.

"I want to prove that the Iraqi woman has her own existence in society, she has her rights like men," Shaima Qassem Abdulrahman told NBC News. "I am afraid of nothing, because I am confident that what I am doing is not wrong."

More than 150 women applied for Miss Iraq pageant, which organizers said was a chance to "create life in Iraq" and "revive our country" after years of bloodshed and internal chaos.

But a backlash saw 15 contestants drop out of the competition, according to one of the judges, Iraqi fashion designer Sinan Kamel. Reuters reported that least two of these women had received death threats.

Abdulrahman, from the northern city of Kirkuk, said that she hoped "to reflect the culture of Iraq," adding that Saturday's competition was "not about beauty alone," and it was not just a fashion show.

"I call all Iraqi girls to feel this experience," she said after winning.

Abdulrahman had to convince her parents to let her enter after they initially banned her from participating.

"In the past I heard that such contests used to be held in Baghdad — I dreamed of being a part of one of these contests," she told NBC News in October. She said the Iraqi people were "badly in need of such cultural activities" after the turmoil the country had been through.

Like many Iraqis, Abdulrahman has been directly affected by the violence brought to her country by ISIS. Two of her cousins were members of Iraq's federal police until they were killed while fighting the militants.

Five of her fellow contestants were also forced to find new homes last year afterISIS overran the northern city of Mosul.

Iraq has a long history of holding beauty pageants. In the 1930s, women competed at monthly events including "Miss Baghdad" and "Baghdad's Queen of Beauty," according to an article published in Nina Iraq magazine.

Wijdan Burhan al-Deen, who won in 1972, was the last internationally-recognized Miss Iraq. She went on to represent her country at Miss Universe the same year.

Since then, pageants have been held under various monikers but none were in accordance with international standards — a prerequisite for having a shot at Miss Arab and then the global Miss World event.

  5. Yes,I can see your point. There is still the article that was put out a while back I believe near the end of 2013 ish where the IMF ? stated the bills would not lose the value stated? Essentially what I took from that was just as you mentioned , the zeros coming off the rate..  Guess we won't truly know until this ride is over how the outcome is going to be.

For the first time in 33 years, we're about to get a new reserve currency...

A NEW currency will likely get "reserve currency" status this October...joining the four other world reserve currencies, writes Steve Sjuggerud in his Daily Wealth email.

In a decade or two, this newly added currency will likely challenge the Euro for the No. 2 position among reserve currencies. And in the long run, it could potentially take over the US Dollar's role as the top reserve currency.

This October's announcement is a significant event.

So how do we know this event will likely take place in October? Because that's when the International Monetary Fund (IMF) will announce the results of its meeting about the world's reserve currency system.

Twice a decade, the IMF executive board meets to reassess the makeup of its basket of reserve currencies. The next five-year meeting is this June. And the results of that meeting will be announced in October.

We haven't seen a major change to the reserve currency system in more than 33 years. But this October, the world will likely learn about a new reserve currency.

You may have guessed that I'm talking about China's currency, the Renminbi.

China is the world's second-largest economy. It could be the world's largest economy within 15 years. The country certainly deserves a seat at the "grown-ups" table.

China has asked to be included as part of the IMF's "Special Drawing Rights" (SDR) reserve currency basket. In my opinion, this June, the IMF should grant China's currency entry as part of the SDR.

The entire world gets it. Germany and the UK, for example, have been downright enthusiastic about China joining the IMF's SDR currency basket. However, the US is being embarrassingly ornery about this situation.

The US has cited a number of technical reasons why the Renminbi shouldn't become part of the SDR. In March, US Treasury Secretary Jack Lew visited China, and then said China was "not ready" for reserve currency status.

The US can seriously stand in China's way. It has the majority of the IMF's votes. So it's possible that the US could block China's request to have its currency included as part of the IMF's SDR.

But looking at the longer term. It'll be hard for the US to hold off China, which should become the world's largest economy soon. (I'm not being unpatriotic, I'm just stating a fact.)

And China's currency is already unofficially a reserve currency in many places...At least 40 government central banks have invested in the Renminbi, and more are planning on doing so, according to British bank Standard Chartered. More than 10,000 financial institutions already do business in the Renminbi.

In short, it's happening, whether the US government wants it to or not.

So, some sort of deal will likely be worked out between China and the US to give China the currency status it wants. I expect that's the news we'll hear this October (despite what the US is saying today).

Surprisingly, most investors haven't bought the Renminbi yet.

I started getting it two years ago.Never put your eggs in one basket is what we're always told. :twothumbs:

  7. RRogers do you recall the title of article?

I wish.It was one of those simple releases of news that gave folks goosebumps .

    slb,

Don't think this is the one as RRogers was citing the IMF.

Your submission, however, should help clear up the misconceptions about the CBI reducing the note count.

    THX

Good job everyone. This is probably close but no dice.I can tell you that it came out during the time period within a month or two back when the mess was going on with Shabs and his venture out of Iraq. The other thing that tells me this is not it, is that it mentions Abadi and the article was back when Maliki was running more amuck.
