900 million is a drop in the bucket for what Iraq needs. they are gonna need billions to really start to look like a country
I don;t believe it's about the money...and you're exactly right easyrider. This is about leveraging ability to repay to establish a global credit rating, and establish a relationship. If you look at the richest people in the world, they rarely spend their own money...they simply leverage it to borrow someone elses.
-
No wonder there is no RV. If world bank, or whatever organization, would fork over 900 million dollars to me when I just ask for it I would not have to worry about my money either. It is time the rest of the world stop "helping" the Iraqis and perhaps they would decide to increase the value of their Dinar.
This loan is actually a good sign. There has to be some signs of ability to repay the loan prior to money being loaned by the World Bank. Trust me...the World Bank is not in the business of making bad loans and losing money.

His official site says he is in hospital because he was suffering from fatigue and exhaustion.... Do you ever notice that public figures are always admitted for "fatigue and exhaustion", yet if you actually tried to check into a hospital for fatigue and exhaustion, they'd tell you to go pound sand...
I'm with you Rayzur. This still doesn't add up. I find it very difficult to believe that the media would announce the specific locations of the countries two highest officals (Talabani and Maliki). Why would you broadcast this? Sounds great for a media spin as the unsuspecting would think nothing of it. I can't see it being policy to do this. In General, any meetings with multiple members of political stature is announced post meeting, and the general purpose is for the security of those individuals. Additionally, we would have seen an official news conference/statement from the physician/medical staff attending to the President. We have not seen this to date. Not saying it's not true...I am saying this falls way outside typical protocal for this type of event.

At about minute 6.5 to 7, Martin Nesirky states that during the meeting this morning, Ban Ki Moon stated that he feels positive about the desire and forward moving workings of cooperation between Iraq and Kuwait. There was no mention of Ch 7.
I believe he implied there would be further meetings about this and Ban Ki Moon is to make his year end address tomorrow (I think they said at noon EST).
Meetings resume at 3pm eastern time. Information directly from phonecall to UN. Compliments of DeborahLayne. Security Council meetings are closed door today

Here is a news link to CNN. At the end of the link it proves my point. Iraqi News media claimed Talabaini was in Germany for knee surgury. CNN has confimed it was SPINAL SURGURY in January of 2012. CNN is also reporting a stroke not death...
http://www.cnn.com/2012/12/18/world/meast/iraq-president-hospitalized/index.html?hpt=imi_c2
I am not saying this isnt true. I am just proceeding with caution due to the fact Iraq is infamous for conflicting reports or releasing news articles that have been a bit less than true...
Fox is not reporting that Talibani is dead...they have not and currently are not. Their ticker states he has been hospitalized due to stroke and is being treated by a medical team in Baghdad. PM maliki is at the hospital and it is undecided if treatment will continue in Baghdad or if he will be transferred to another country for treatment...
With my own eyes...30 seconds ago

A medical source: the President of the Republic is still in the unconscious, making it difficult task staff know the amount of damage in the brain
Ali Aldhargam - 12/18/2012 - 1:13 pm | Hits: 397

He attributed this viewer to Aljhoda intensive efforts over the recent order to achieve harmony and stability in the country. ????? ???? ???? ??????? ?????? . And she came because of fatigue and tiredness.
The statement said that based on the sponsorship specialist medical staff will be issued a medical report later.
The President Jalal Talabani held the past few days a series of meetings with various political parties, most recently for an evening meeting Monday with Prime Minister Nuri al-Maliki to discuss the political crisis and ways out of it.

How could he have been unconscious since Friday and have meetings in Baghdad with Maliki yesterday???
Not buying it....something doesn't add up

Strangly similar to Kuwait before RI/RV...not saying it's not true. Just really odd. Have offered a prayer for his well being nonetheless..

Round up the 79 = 80
1179 = 1180
1.18
Oh my....i believe his question was where is it referenced in the article. However I'm sure he's grateful for the elementary quick class on fractions/decimals! lol
I do like your thinking though....i'll gladly take the $1.18 rate
:):)
Does that mean the rate is $1.18!! It is by moving the decimal.. :lol:/>
Your day any better???

Looks like its almost half price of 1166.... !!
Just under 1 dinar....something's amiss here. Just my .840 dinar worth

Doesn't that seem to be REALLY REALLY cheap for a trading price of any financial institution?

Pumper!! ;)/>
Where's the $$$$$$$$$$??????? lol

Nuri al-Maliki said Iraq has fully met his obligations regarding the international resolutions which were adopted under Chapter VII of the UN Charter.
Maliki said they fulfilled the requirements, I'm waiting to see what Ban-Ki-moon says.
These were my exact sentiments on another forum....time will tell Hi5

Simple question about this story.... What if oil is not fossil fuel only?... What if the earth produced it's oil and natural gas naturally? Maybe this is an unfortunate leak... GO RV!!!~~~
So gald u said this...there has been speculation (from scientists and geologists....look it up) that oil isn't a fossil fuel at all...food for thought

I respect the LOPsters right to voice their opinions. I am also aware that many of them are being paid to”reverse pump” as evidenced by the ratio of sellers vs buyers. The CBI’s primary focus for the last year or so has been to suck in as much dinar as they can. Again…if a LOP was the plan all along then why bother to reduce circulation via auctions?
The fiscal year LOP argument is like me telling you I am waiting to the first of the year to exchange my 4 quarters in for a dollar. It simply doesn’t make any sense.
The mis-information campaign is in full swing as it should be. We will get ours. It is just a question (as usual) of when and for how much.
Whereas I agree with you (mostly)...any Dinar in Private circulation outside of Iraqs borders will remain out of CBI's hands until an RV has occurred. The sellers that buy back dinar are only incentivised by re-selling back into the private market with the normal markup. It's an absolute brilliant business plan. I don;t believe it would even be possible to sell back to Iraq as a currency exchange unless it was a tradable currency...which it is not. So in short, if indeed any of the lopsters are making gain, they would have to be paid from the sellers the same as the pumpers to create a cyclical scenario...which wouldn't surprise me if one or two were wrapped into these tactics. Furthermore, de-dollarization inside Iraq is much more relevant to a sustainable RV rate. The amount of Dinar inside Iraqs border is basically irrelevant. Get the Dollars OUT! Anyhow, I could really care less...I have my few Dinar and am only interested in the RV, and am hopeful it occurs soon and am encouraged at the complexity and comprehensive nature of information being fed. Thanks for the post...Best Regards
