  2. That's a lot of caps....I think the thought is....how can someone that's stateside invest or deposit in to the "Bank of Baghdad" without being in Country. I was in Country for 3 and half years and never had access to that Bank...so maybe his statement wasn't inaccurate...maybe its what is available to those that are stateside. Do you have the same Benefits as Warka? Do you only have access to that account while in-country? Just curious....

benefits with bank of baghdad are much better, customer service being on top of my list, a working ATM card, dual IQD,USD accounts....what else do you want to know? BTW, even if i was stateside i would be able to open account with them, so the answer to your question is yes to both.

  3. [Adam Montana] later in the chat, a few people asked if Warka is still safe, should we worry, etc. My answer really depends on how you look at things. First, Warka is the ONLY Iraqi bank that will allow us (foreigners) to invest in an Iraqi Dinar account and hold Dinars in Iraq. So if you want to keep an Iraqi Dinar balance other than cash, YOU HAVE NO CHOICE but to use Warka.

I'M GOING TO CORRECT YOU RIGHT HERE, RIGHT NOW. THIS STATEMENT YOU MADE ABOUT WARKA BEING THE ONLY BANK TO HOLD DINARS AS A FOREIGNER IS INCORRECT, I HAVE A BANK OF BAGDAD ACCOUNT WITH IQD'S IN IT AND INVESTING WITH ISX WITHOUT ANY ISSUES.

  4. Government hints to help the U.S. to protect the sky of the Arab summit

    Wednesday 07/03/2012

Said a senior adviser in the Cabinet, that the protection of the sky of Iraq during the Arab summit later this month will be the responsibility of the Army Air which uses helicopters to monitor the movement of armed groups on the ground to reduce the shelling with rockets may occur through the presence of Arab leaders in the Green Zone, hinting at the possibility of the use of U.S. forces if the need arises to monitor the movements of the gunmen on the basis of the security agreement signed between the two countries, the end of 2008. However, the security sources predicted the inability of helicopters known as slow in dealing with fast maneuvers that may be pursued by armed groups during the firing of rockets.

The chancellor said the government just Berwari in a telephone conversation with (the extent) yesterday, "due to the lack Amtlakena fighter jets, would be to rely on army aviation (helicopter) in the protection of the sky of Iraq and follow the movements of insurgents on the ground if they want to carry out missile strikes to the Green Zone during the Arab summit ". He Berwari "There is a security committee headed by the Commander in Chief of the Armed Forces and the Court has developed a plan to prevent a security and emergency preparedness at the highest levels." He hinted Berwari to the possibility of the existence of security cooperation with Washington in this regard and said "there is an agreement a long-term with the United States involves one of its clauses on security cooperation through a joint committee between the parties and there will be American help whenever the need arises, especially in this important event," adding " until the moment there is no justification for the use of U.S. forces to protect Iraqi airspace. "

Conversely, security sources said (range) yesterday that "helicopters may be slow in dealing with the movements of insurgents who use the maneuver rapidly in the bombing of the Green Zone during the Arab summit," adding that "it may recur, as happened with the presence of the Secretary-General of the United Nations Ban Ki-moon in the Green Zone, as these totals was able to launch a rocket near the meeting despite the presence of U.S. forces in the country. " In the meantime considered the security and defense committee that the parliamentary rockets on the Green Zone is out of the question during the Arab summit, but the decline in insurgent activity during the last period may weaken this possibility.

Committee member Adnan al-Mayahi admitted in the beginning that the sky of Iraq are not protected, which makes targeted by armed groups during the summit, something improbable, but he also in a telephone conversation with (range) yesterday, "that is down significantly after the withdrawal of U.S. troops to retire many of the groups activity armed at the moment, "stressing that" the U.S. military could not limit this kind of targeting and therefore the occurrence of Katyusha is the question. "

  5. When will the IQD RV????

As much as everyone here wants this RV to happen, I can tell you this much from someone that’s living and working in the LZ, it’s not going to happen anytime soon which BTW I’m a heavy investor of 50MIL IQD’s. I don’t mean to sound negative but here’s the case at hand. If Iraq’s sole economy runs on Oil money, and just finished passing the largest Budget in history inside the country for 30+ million people, then why would they be worried about putting value to their currency? They seem to be doing just fine, especially with all the construction projects they currently have with toilet paper.

Who’s buying Oil from Iraq?? EVERYONE, Who’s paying Iraq in USD?? EVERYONE that buys their OIL. Do you need a lot of money to run a country with 30+ Million peeps, not really in my opinion… I was born and raised in NYC, with over 8 Million people and the budget for that city alone is just a fraction of what these people here would really use it for. The rest is used to pay the politicians.

Long story short, if Iraq wants to be like DUBAI someday, then it will take decades, so you see, putting value to a currency that really doesn’t need it will be pointless. Everyone here carries USD, and small amounts of IQD, why??? Because they love the USD here. Everyone gets paid in USD here, EVERYONE…..so until some major shift comes about, then these Iraqi’s will be enjoying what they get paid every month, which is USD.

  6. Mr Montana . Real quick just your personal opinion. Do you think that even with the HCL in place and chapter 7 resolved that Iraq can RV as long as the violence continues . Would like your take on this as every time I read another al qaeda bomb goes off . I`m thinking OK here goes another month down the drain.

    agreed

  8. i will save you the hassle of waiting on a chat that most likey won't happen and if it does, then all he'll do is try and seel you some VIP crap ad so he can answer you there, really???. Anyway, i currently have a warka account and i hate it, but at the time it was my only option. now i'm in the process of opening an account with bank of baghdad. anyway long story short, warka is compared to camel junk, there customer service dept rates 0 to none. so my honest opinion, get the money you have in there and get it else where. BTW i live and work 10 mins away from a warka bank which BTW are always closed.
