  2. I don't recall neither party teaching the economics of real trade. But your synopsis is correct, we can't just stop without other trade consequences. Was taught this in high school economics. These problems and policies existed before obama read pelosi.

    BTW: 28% was proposed.

Real trade is Free trade. Which means that there are no tariffs place on any goods by any country. In some countries you might see wages go down in others you will see wages go up.

like China for instance. the wages are going up and costs are going up so now companies are looking to Vietnam for cheap labor. Cost of materials is about the same everywhere. The cost of raw materials is set by the world marked.

So if there was real free trade between countries you would see everything level out. And the companie that is the most efficient would be able to sell there goods cheaper than a less efficientt one and there would be no tax breaks or tarifs to help sell there goods

Of course this is a simplistic view but I think you can see where I am going.

  3. My post was about labor costs and the outsourcing of work to other countries. Our jobs are outsourced, meaning that American workers are without work and our payroll tax system will fail.

It's a complicated issue that I have thought about many times. I'm not here to argue.

Maybe I think too much on a higher level.

    Americans need work!!!

I don't disagree with you but I do find it interesting that only now are people talking about losing jobs to other countries.

I didn't hear people complain when the government let the American shipping industry take it in the shorts and let other conturies take over and made it so that companies use a flag of convenience to get around us shipping laws thereby laying off a lot of our merchantmen. This all started in the 60's.

I also didn't hear anyone complain when the Japanies auto industry ate the US auto industries lunch. Starting in the 70's. How many of you drove a Datsun or Honda in the 70's or 80's. when they where made in Japan and the auto industry had to lay off people.

I also haven't heard anyone complain that the last plant that made TV's was closed due to the fact that it is cheaper to make them in China.

The only time people complain about a job going off shore is when it is theres. we should have been saying somthing long ago.

I had a conversation with to electronic engineers about 6 years ago. They had lost there job to outsourcing to India.

I went thru the same things that I am talking about here. I asked them did the support the American worker. They told me they don't look at where something is made they just bought what was the least expensive.

I reminded them of the story: They came for the mentally ill and I didn't say anything. They came for the Gypsies and I didn't say anything. They came for the Jew's and I didn't say anything. Then they came for me and there was no one to say anything.

The Japaneses protect there industry by putting high tariffs on goods from the US. the make it difficult for our rice farmers to sell rice by adding tariffs to make it more expensive. They put hug tariffs in US cars to make them more expensive etc.etc.

But we don't do that to their goods. We need to put tariffs on all items coming into this country equal to the tariffs that are put on US good in those respective countries.

    Sorry for the Lecture.

    Let the flames begin. :twocents:

  4. High Taxes are the reason for outsourcing Ski.

America now has the highest Corporate Tax in the world.

While a great deal of other Countries are reducing Taxes,

to insure jobs dont leave....The current POTUS is discussing

further increasing Taxes....On top of the new ones created in

Obamacare & all the new Regulations that have been imposed

    since 2009.

The solution is not more Taxes...Its less Government

I agree we don't have a tax problem we have a spending problem. :cigar:

  5. Pilchard:::: Gradual deletion of the zeros works like this ..On the chosen date the value of all existing dinar will be reduced by a factor of 1000. that is an instant change..A 1000 note counts as 1 dinar (New)...next when the new notes become available ,( not all new denoms at the same time), as an old 1000 dinar comes thru a CBI branch and a new 1 dinar is available the clerk will take the 1000 cancel it ( probably by punching holes in certain places) and put the new 1 dinar in circulation..

This will take place with all current dinar being exchanged with the new counterpart...So the CBI can still issue all the old dinar they may have in stock they wont be obligated to destroy it.

Not to be a wet blanket but aren't you describing a LOP? Or did you mean to say that they would turn in a old 25000 dinar not and get 25000 one dinar note in exchange? That would have the new rate.

  6. I wanted to share this. Sometime we don't have answers because we just don't ask. Nothing ventured, nothing gained.

    Hello and good evening,

I was wanting to know please when does the CBI plan on revaluing the Iraq Dinar? Will it be by the end of the year 2012?Will the rate be as strong as the Kuwait Dinar and stronger than the US dollar? I know the oil and gold and other resources will

be able to back a strong currency for your country.

Thank you kindly for taking the time in answering these two questions.

Look positively forward to hearing back from you soon.

    Kind regards,

    JP

You don't get if you don't ask. Although I would suspect that you wont get a straight answer.

Don't know why you are getting all the neg's but I just gave you a plus.

  7. I have 4 million and I would get more but my wife doesn't want me to spend the money. But I am willing to loss what I have put in so far because it is money that I can afford to loss I.E. not food or mortgage money.

Of the 4 I have I bought 1million and had it sent to a friends and they are holding on to it for me so that my wife wont find out unless it RV's then she will love me for being so smart. If it doesn't hit than she won't know that I bought more after she told me to stop. :D

  8. THE INTENT OF THIS WARNING IS TO ADVISE CITIZENS OF THE PLANET, DINARIANS ACROSS THE CHAT-O-SPHERE OR ELSEWHERE IN THE DINARIVERSE THAT CONDITIONS ARE NOW ESCALATED TO "FAVORABLE" FOR A REVALUATION TO INITIALIZE FROM THE MOMENT OF THIS ANNOUNCEMENT AND GOING FORWARD UNTIL: REVALUATION OCCURS OR THIS WARNING IS IS CANCELLED

Boy, that sounds like a firm noncommittal to me. This sounds like Okie speak. But what do I know.

  9. In the early seventies I worked in Woodstock for about a year installing telephone pipes and man holes, it was still pretty much a hippie town, some people just walked around aimlessly, lots of candle makers and craft stores, and needless to say lots of hippies.

I'm doing that know at Shindand AB AFG(after 30 years in the Bell System). :salute:

  10. If they ignore the zero's on the old notes and move the decimal to the left 3 places from .00086 to .86 (lop). It all comes down to whether or not the zero's on the old notes will be honored or not.

I think the rate will go out of control and may plummet if they choose to lop. You're not increasing buying power and confidence is lost in the currency. Part of the reason it hasn't collapsed so far is the fact that many speculators are buying it.

    Doctor Smith,

Just an observation but isn't part of the reason that it hasn't collapsed is because it is worth only $.00086 and can't go down much more?

Not that I want a lop I am hoping for an RV that is why I got into this but I do be leave that they are heading for a lop as that is what they are putting out. But that could just be a misinformation campaign.

  11. FYI,

What do you all make of this? I think it is just another Guru that like to hear him self talk.

7-15-2012 Newshound Guru Eagle1 The past 24 hours have brought about some extremely interesting developments. Thursday at roughly 5:00 PM Eastern, the IQD showed up on FOREX at the Frankfurt Exchange, and shortly t.hereafter on the Paris Exchange. For reasons explained otherwise, it did not appear on Citibank’s FOREX site in the U.S., and that may be because the USD was not referenced in this announcement. the IQD was referenced to the Euro. The Euro was equal (in this posting) to .16 IQD. That would make the IQD worth Eu6.25. Take the current value of the Euro against the US Dollar and we have a valuation of the IQD against the USD equal to $7.62. the rate continued to display for some seven hours. (Update: The rate was still there, by the way, as of noon Friday.) We’ve seen glitches before, but they generally last for a few minutes, and maybe an hour at the absolute outside. On the day following the appearance of this rate with both Frankfurt and Paris FOREX exchanges, we learn that the Iraqi Minister of Finance as well as other representatives from the GOI were in Frankfurt and Paris to open up embassies. Makes you go, HMMMMMMMM.

  12. I got two e-mails stating the RV is now in process in Iraq simular to item below. The rate is USD $3.

7-9-2012 Intel Guru Hammerman On Friday Bush negotiated some stuff with my friend "LM" to get us into a cash-in position and make it possible for this to go forward. My friend worked with Bush to remove the hold-up. We can confirm the bad guys have been removed. At 3 am I got a call from an embassy person and he told me that the IQD revalued at $1.77 to the GBP last night, $2.90 USD. I called my friend who's a General in Baghdad and he confirmed it. He said the troops were told to warm up and be on alert.

WOW! and it's not even Friday yet.:D

  13. ... not everyone here is a newbie .. i bought my dinars 8 years ago .. long before the cbi started putting out the deletion of zeros storys .... i personally dont think most people bought their dinars thinking this would lop ......holding your dinars after the storys of deletion came about ..is not a big deal .. its not like most people mortgaged their homes to buy dinars .. most bought a couple million for a chance at a revaluation of their currency after the war was over .. well they found out .. it takes more than that .. like chapter 7 ... a seated govt .. for example ... we dont actually know the hold up ..or whats going on here ..but the zero deletion storys claiming 100 current dinmars for one of the new ones .. points to a lop .. .. it doesnt mean everyone thinks the storys are true .. but it is what the storys are saying .. so most people will hang on to their dinars till its all said and done .. just to be sure .. i dont see any loss occuring .. if they do lop ... it would be an even exchange .. a thousand dollars worth of existing dinars for a thousand dollars worth of new dinars ,, no gains no losses .. but theres that chance they are still using propaganda to get people to sell off their dinars ..

ya know anyone can join this forum .. iraq may have personel sitting here daily just for that purpose .. to get people to sell off .... who knows ..

but the truth is they have never put out any story that says they will give you even exchange one old dinar for one new one .. if they have please post it ...the storys all say lop ..1000 for one new dinar ..which is what other countrys have doine in the past ..

ill be better off just saying ...yes ... thats what the story says .. but i dont believe it ... instead of trying to twist around what they publish in print .....

my dinars are staying with me till the new rates are published .. and i wont be shocked if they are telling the truth and it doies lop .. they meaning central bank of iraq ..

but if theres a chance this may also rv as well as lop .. like 3 dollars for one dinar .. and 1000 for one ill triple my investment ..

truth is no one knows for sure whats going to happen .. iraq would destroy itself if it told the world ..come buy these dinars ..and in january we will give you 300,000 percent gains if you buy now .... no storys have said that .. only speculators have said such things ...i will not twist a story around for my own entertainment watching everyone else believe my propaganda ... cause it would just be made up malarky

I agree with every thing that that you have said.

I got into this hoping for an RV but as much as I hate to say the L word that is what they are saying that they are going to do.

But again as you say if it does L&^ and then RV's maby I will get 2 to 3 times my investment back which is still not a bad return. I wont be a millionaire but am not one now. :D
