Well after ten years of building the reserves to its current point, I would be damned if I was gonna deplete those buying back the offers on my currency for USD or whatever else its gonna be exchanged for!

Let's just take a quote from the article which heads this thread:
"The process of deleting zeros was postponed more than once, until called on Parliament's Economic Committee, reported channel "East" on the 7th of July, the Central Bank, to speed up the process of deletion of zeros of the Iraqi currency in a press conference that the deletion of zeros will increase the value of the Iraqi dinar will be reflected positively on the issue of reducing unemployment and poverty in the country."
1) there was a thread posted here at DV translating the term "deletion of the zeros" to be distilled to translate as: "removal of the leading zeros".
2) Nowhere in the lead article does it state the word "redonomination", but for sake of argument, I took the word "redenomination" and translated it to Arabic, then I took that Arabic word and retranslated again with Bing (back to English) and got the phrase: "boils down to". (again the word "redonomination IS NOT USED IN THIS ARTICLE)
3) Also, considering that there have been countless articles stating that much of the currency is damaged, there would be a need to replace at least the most used denominations.
4) to me, this can only mean that removal of the zeroes from the value and or the physical currency can mean the value will by proxy be increased, based on the quoted section from the article, which I've posted here.
5) If you believe it will be a LOP why are you here and why are you debating this? To GET people out of their dinar? To "enlighten" people? If so, either of these acts are ego based. This is an investment, let people come to their own conclusions based on THEIR own research...as good stewards of their own lives.

You have to remember, every click onto a dinar site is money in the forum owners pocket. Thats why these gurus make up outlandish things just to keep the masses coming back. The more ridiculous the rumors, the more traffic, the more money the site owner makes!!

Because it still has value and people are buying dinar like its going out of style!! The largest bill they have is worth over 20USD. Do you know what the most counterfeited bill here in the states is? The 20 dollar bill.....
You make enough of them and can sell them or use them your in business.

They busted the bh group for fraud mainly because of the fake hedge fund they set up and added that other charge of fraud to the list because at that time the treasury did not hold trillions of dinar
I read nothing in the indictment that said they would never be accepting dinar in the treasury
Never did I read if they "redenominate" they won't handle them
That is your opinion......not everything is spelled out specifically. But it is very possible. No one can guarantee that if they redenominate that we will be able to exchange our dinars back. And if you think thats not possible, you need to do some more homework on the issue.

I have to agree sometimes it does make you wonder. This looks like the case the plaintiffs built around their suit. Do you know if the case settled? Were they able to level all the complaints against them? I kind of laughed at the paragraph the United States would not be redeeming dinar in an re denomination, if there is a re denomination.

Zig you know that its completely plausible for anyone outside Iraq to get shafted holding dinar. Dealers cant promise they will be able to exchange. And being as how this was a federal case, they seem pretty serious about the UST not taking any dinar should there be a redenomination. It does make you question the validity of all this.

Read this....its the indictment papers. Talks about pumping a revaluation, making buyers rich when the CBI is redenominating, lies about the UST holding dinar for profit and how they are going to facilitate exchanging dinars when in fact they said they will not be exchanging dinars for anyone. Lots of things that really make you wonder about this whole thing.

Their case as I recall but I could be way off the mark, I did not follow it really, was they told the people they were pooling the money together as a fund in Iraqi Dinar, yes with the premise it would RV. There wasn't a fund and they pretty much took the money and ran. You probably know about it more than I do that's for sure.
They did get in trouble also for the fake hedge fund, there was also a lot of fraudulent lying about the US holding dinar, that whole executive order that had nothing to do with protecting dinar holders and lying about a revaluation of the dinar that was gonna make them rich. Quite interesting.....

Telling people the dinar was going to revalue is not what got him in trouble. It was removing the US treasury out of the picture. As far as what one tells people when it comes to an RV or RD, being fully honest is a wise decision. However whether they RV or RD is still not clear cut at this moment in time.
I can bet that is part of it if he was promising a revaluation of the dinar. You remember those other clowns that got in trouble with the law that were gurus? One of the charges was lying to people about a revaluation of the dinar, selling dinar off that premise when the CBI is talking about redenominating.

Curiosity question(s): Has the withdrawal of American troops from Iraq slowed down the RV? Has that left Iraq in a much less defensible situation? Enough that it might cause a slow-down in their willingness to change their currency? Did it cause fewer investors to get onboard? Or fewer businesses from other countries, not just American ones, to stop and rethink their decision about opening in Iraq? I have read that Obama pulled our troops out of Iraq prematurely, so I am just curious about how that may have impacted the RV.

No, nothing is holding up the RV. The CBI wants a stable rate. Not a growing rate. Stability improves the economy.

A Lead man who schemed to illegally import Iraqi dinars and swindled investors has been ordered to pay his victims $178,867 in restitution.
When he pleaded guilty to unlawfully structuring financial transactions in May, 60-year-old David Olmsted, also known as Dale Cooper, agreed to forfeit $1.2 million in cash and assets for by-passing federal import laws to ship dinars into the United States.
Olmsted arranged to have Iraqi dinars sent from Jordan to the United States in shipments of less than $10,000 to avoid having to report the imports to the Department of Treasury. He promised investors financial benefits by converting their dollars to dinars.
Olmsted will spend three years on federal supervised release.
Does this mean if we bring back Dinars from Iraq we can get into trouble? Because I brought some back from Iraq with me and it was less than $10,000.
