  1. Pretty sure our founding fathers didn't have cars and trucks either, but we have no problem keeping them around. More people are killed with autos every year including children. How do we deal with that, we make sure those responsible can't get a license to drive. We don't take away EVERYONES ablility to drive.

Typical response, let's take away the rights to own certain guns from all law abiding citizens so we can prevent bad people from getting them. :confused:/> We all know that if someone was planning on committing mass murder we would ruin there plans by making a law to prevent them from carrying it out. They certainly wouldn't want to break the law and use a banned gun to coimmit murder.

What difference would it make if the shooter had to reload or not? He was shooting defenseless little children. He could have been carrying fifteen or more clips of ammo and a couple of hand guns, even ten round clips would have been just as deadly in the scenario that just unfolded.

The common denominator in all of these shootings is not the guns used as much as the sick mind that directed the finger to squeeze the trigger. A sick individual bent on murder can always figure out another way.

We as a country need to stop addressing the symptom and address the problem which is mental health. :twocents:/>

BillBill, most of what you are saying in this post is clear, concise and not disputable. However, on this one point I beg to differ. Mental health is not the problem. Yes. In this instance there was a mental health issue, but that is one among many issues. My belief and my opinion is that the rash of bad actors is relative to the MORAL decay of our society in that many are afflicted mentally. To be more clear, take for instance television and movies. In and of themselves they are not necessarily bad. Then couple the untold, nearly immeasurable hours of morally deficient garbage, which is piped into the minds of a generation of persons whose society teaches that moral absolutes are not relevant and the only thing that truly matters in the minefield of life is how that one felt at that moment. Remember, our youth have been programmed to believe they are worthy of praise when they have done nothing praiseworthy. You are significant in the fabric of life even if your place is that of a sponge... a parasite. This most recent shooter had in fact been long diagnosed with mental issues, but I am not comfortable with making education and mental health diagnoses the main focus. After certain (and more enlightened) ones have diagnosed all the sick people they will naturally progress to labeling all who disagree with them as mentally I'll and in need of a fix when what needs to happen is an awakening to the truth. The truth is we have been lazy with guiding our children and removing the bad actors from society... a return to 2nd Chronicals ch. 7 v 14 is the most obvious place to begin...

  2. Pretty sure none of our Founding Fathers had an M-16. I guess the 2nd amendment covers dirty bombs and nukes, as well......if you can afford them, that is. dry.gif

Those beautiful children, cornered in a room with a madman......who never had to reload or blink between victims. Assault weapons serve no other purpose than the death of many in one fell swoop.

    GO RV, then BV

I just had to respond here... To Reginald Denny an ordinary brick in the hands of an angry mob was most certainly an assault weapon. Firearms fall under the "Right of the people to keep (possess, maintain, store, etc., etc.) and to bear (have on one's person and within immediate deployment capability) arms (jack knives, sticks, pitchforks, ball bats, bricks, brick bats, steak knives, muskets, .45 ACP's, shotguns, AK47's and all manner of personal defense items) shall not be infringed portion of the Second Amendment. Weapons have evolved with the evil in men's hearts. I have long understood that criminals will not obey gun control laws. Only an idiot would deny that...

  3. As far as I know, anyone who "opts out" of the "volunteer tax system" and gives the IRS the finger pretty much loses. Not a single victory on record. It may be true, but there's no chance an Obama regime would allow you, me, or anyone else to exert their "rights". Every attempt to fight this fight pretty much exemplifies how much our "freedom" is actually illusion.

Legal or not, our tax system is run like the Gestapo.

The reason there are no examples of individuals beating this rap is that we have been coming at the matter as individuals... Not enough are willing to do the time or pay the fines. We're going to have to band together 'en masse' or they will continue to roll over the individuals likethe PLA wiped out protestors at Tiananmen Square.

  4. Regarding my post about US oil, the US Geological survey has done an outstanding job of cloaking the information and it will take some time to ferret out the facts again, but the information is there. Between the known West Texas Crude, Rocky Mountain Shale and the Bakken Range, the San Joaqin Basin and untold TRILLIONS of cubic feet of natural gas, the United States has enough proven hydrocarbon reserves to easily make the next one hundred years with relative ease while alternative sources of energy are developed. BTW, we do not have to be paying nearly 4 USD for a gallon of fuel to carry our commodities to market. We could reduce fuel prices by nearly half just by deregulating the O&G industry. We know how to recover oil and gas with clean and environmentally safe methods now and because I have spent most of my life in a peripheral industry I am convinced that most companies want to do environmentally responsible things. Yes. I want us to develop cleaner technologies than the internal combustion engine, but right now oil is what we have a great deal of, and we do not need the ME, including Saudi Arabia, Iraq, Iran, the UAE or any other ME entity for our oil. The problem arises with bureaucrats twisting facts. When the USGS says recoverable oil they refer to wells that have been drilled and capped which can be tapped immediately, which is about 2% of what we know is there ready to be collected. Environmental whackos have lobbied to shut down hydrocarbon production and more than one politician has looked out for his/her own pocketbook and not ours. We've got our eyes on the right hand, but we'd better start watching the left hand because as with all magic acts something is going on where we are not looking. B)

  5. Pretty simple really... the country has some of the most vast amount of natural resources in the world. I'm sure it's actually more complicated, but thats my " cliff- notes" version.

Brother, I absolutely do not wish to start a debate with you. I have read many of your posts and I respect most of what you have to say, but I am about undone with statements like the one quoted from your post. It is not entirely acurate. The fact is, Iraq is not as rich in resources as many wish to believe. The United States has more known recoverable oil than the entire Middle East so the oil argument is not as strong or persuasive as folks want to believe. Now, before anyone goes off on me about being a negative nellie, you should know that I am largely positive about the potential to make some cool Ben Franklins on Iraqi currency. Like many here at DV, I have a few thousand tied up in IQD and have no intention of bailing out. I'm in, all the way to sink or swim, but there has been so much misinformation and factually deficient information set forth through the years that I just have to speak up. The following is a cut and paste from the US Department of State:

    My link

    Economy

Nominal GDP (2011 est.): $108.6 billion.

Nominal GDP per capita (2011 est., PPP): $3,877.

Rate of inflation (2011 est.): 5.0%.

  6. Canada Free Press contributor Doug Hagmann has reported that a longtime friend and Department of Homeland Security official revealed to him “…the uppermost echelon of the DHS is actively preparing for massive social unrest inside the United States,” and not only “…expecting and preparing for it, they are actually facilitating it.

According to Hagmann’s DHS source, the Obama Regime—which initiates Department agenda and dominates its thinking—will proceed by implementing “economic chaos, chaos through racial division and chaos through class division, all joined by Barack Hussein Obama and his stable of unelected czars.”

Wouldn't it be so convenient for O to have a reason to declare marshall-law right before the election... I'm so ready to see O go. As a white American male, I'm proud we finally elected a black person to our highest office... just not THIS person. America needs a healing and I'm ready for it, but this guy has divided us more and set racial relations back quite a bit. He has not helped move the economy and for the first time in history an American president will leave office with fewer citizens working than when he took the office. Pathetic.

I don't think Romney is the best candidate but I'm supporting him all the way. Go O go! Go O go!

  7. Actually, iraq is not some switch ready for liftoff. the entire procrastination of the cbis goals is being held up by this iraqi government. the economic laws have not shown up. they. are pumping more oil, but very little compared to potential. contractors and projects waiting to be paid for and implemented.

Over time a governments decisions will reflect the value of a currency.

Your reply seems to indicate that you were feeling stung by my comment, but I assure you there was no sting intended. Your reply also indicates that we are not far apart in our opinions... Of course the GOI has thrown kinks in the CBI's plan. See? Get governments out of private businesses and the economy will, as you say, "liftoff".

  8. i dont think the blocs careabou outside influence. theyve been perfectly fine with civil war for years, and even when we think they agree, they dont and drag things on to a point of stagnation. even if a rv is a guarantee, political the government is collapsing.. what goods a currencyif theres no stable government to back it???or a stable gvernment to set the economic neccessities to thrive and prosper????

This is where people tend to miss the mark. Even in America people fail to understand that a currency's value is not based upon the strength or the stability of its government. A stable government will indeed be a beneficial aspect, but the strength of any nation's currency is a strong and vibrant economy. Strong free market economies occur without overbearing regulations and Iraq is another case in point example of this. Get the government out of the way and the wealth will, as Adam says, "Re-appear".

See how America's wealth goes into hiding as the government intervenes and prevents the free flow of our economic life-cycle?

  9. Why is it that you folks always bring to mind the crusades as an example of Christians bringing terror and death to the world.... Most of the actions involving the crusades where done under the mask of Christianity but not for the purpose of spreading Christianity... It was done for the purpose of filling pockets with money which is without doubt non-christian..... Can you bring to light some other instance where Christianity has brought death and destruction to the masses??? No you can not..... As a Christian, I do not look at the Crusades with a sense of pride. I find them to be a blight on the world....

I find them to be a good example of how absolute power corrupts absolutely... Another reason for checks and balances in government...

Don't fool yourself. Come on down to GA. Exrteme prejudice is alve & well.

Poor example. I've lived in Georgia, Alabama, Mississippi, Louisianna and Texas. I've travelled to most of this nation for extended periods of work. The most extreme prejudice I have encountered is in the Northern portion of America. Yes, I'll concur that it exists in Georgia as every other state but it's not nearly as blatant as in several Northern states. I find the people of the South (white or black) to be generally well mannered and very polite.

  10. You call me ignorant by making that comment, You prove that

Americans have been dumb'ed down to near idiocy. The fact that

you would kill anyone, even a stupid liberal, for there hair style is all

the proof one of intelligence needs to know who you serve. SATIN!

If you can defend this kind of behavior then it is clear whom you serve.

As far as making money off of this SATANIC COUNTRY I have no problem

with that. I will use said profits to spread the love of Jesus Christ and

prepare my family for what is to come. It would be pure stupid to let such an

opportunity as this to pass me by for idiotic dogmatic beliefs. As a liberal I don't

expect you to understand that. :P

A liberal Christian... That is a case in point, text book example of an oxymoron. Define "liberal" for me as I am addled and feeble minded enough to think one cannot know the truth of salvation and agree with a liberal lifestyle. Don't get me wrong, I'm not judging you, but the concept does not fit the narrow gap between my ears... Narrow! Oh yes, I remember now... Jesus said the pathway to heaven is "straight" and "narrow". Don't be double minded. It leads to instability. I know. I'm going to hell for my betrayal of God's word and His Holy Spirit. I would that it were not true but it is. I was wreckless with my gift and will be judged for it. I knew the truth. You apparently do not really know that you know. Please. Draw very near to the savior and see what he reveals about liberal Christianity.

  11. I subscribe to the teachings of a Jewish Carpenter who best demonstrated love towards both his friends and enemies. He taugh, "he without sin cast the first stone." Unfortunately, there are some who are so "morally outraged" by the sins of others they find themselves under the charateristics of another teaching of this Suffering Servant. He further taught, my paraphrase, it is better to take the telephone pole out of one's own eye before trying to take a toothpick out of another's. On this early Sunday morning, I am comforted by the fact that the King of Kings did not leave standing marching orders to eradicate sinners but rather to spread the Good News that the "Promised One" has been born and that He is coming back again to claim His purchased possession. Ironically, those who desire to "defend the Faith" can not do it with human weapons. Instead, the greatest "tactical strategy" and most compelling testimony that one is a follower of "The Way" is that both our friends and enemies know that we are Christians by our love. Blessings!

Yeah... I hear you. Don't forget though: Jesus Christ, the same yesterday, today and tomorrow. He changes not, and even he took up a lash of rope against the money-changers in the temple. The point is that there is an Ecclesiastical season to stand and fight. The namby pamby, limp wristed, lily-livered days of pie in the sky and Lord won't you please are about to come to a screaching halt. You cannot pray your way out of the days ahead because Divine Providence will be fulfilled. It is written that in the last days men's hearts will fail from fear. You can believe whatsoever you wish to, but at the rate of decline in rational leadership based on sound principal we Americans will soon speak either a Chinese dialect or a form of Arabic. You may choose the prayer closet and smiles but when some thug murders your loved ones you may consider an eye for an eye... The Eastern regions have been thoroughly canvassed by Christian Missionaries and prayers of the righteous but tribulation cometh. Be righteous in your heart, but don't forget that the great "I AM" is the same as when Joshua was commanded to destroy every man, woman and child and every beast of the field and to take NONE of the spoils. The Angel of Death will recognize the blood on your lentil, but tribulation and physical death comes to us all.

  12. Like I stated before, please show where the text of Islam is satanic... Don't show where man's abuses of any religion could be viewed as such, as all religions from Christianity to Buddhism could not meet that standard...

Man has, throughout history, shown an uncanny ability to distort every religious text on the planet throughout our history...

I am more than willing to research any religion, as interpreted by man, that has not used such power to abuse and condemn others in various magnitude of manners in order to reach the goal of their own agenda...

Like it or not, Christianity has maimed, tortured and killed people throughout its history... Does that mean that the religion itself is at fault, or simply the people that it has been used/abused by some to further their own agenda? Does doing so mandate that the whole religion is at fault, or just those that used the words of that religion for their own purpose?

NEGATIVE. It was no more Christianity than Islam. Religious zealots come from all religions and use the name of their religion to pursue their twisted agendas. Christianity did not pursue the crusades. It was religious leaders of the Roman-Catholic church who sent the faithful to do their bidding. Islam did not send Al Qaida to terrorize and murder. Again, it was zealots with a perverted understanding of their religion. Judaism did not kill Jeshua, it was a sect of Jews seeking to maintain control of their religion. They did not recognize the messiah as he stood before their very eyes because of blind ambition.

Scary thought, and probably not far from the truth!:unsure::ph34r:

    I know, right???

  13. My Mom, Daughter, Grand Daughter or any Female that I know wouldn't be spewing this kind of Personal Info to the Public in the First Place!! Like I have said before, you can't spew this talk in the Community and not expect Folks to Talk about you!!

Dad always said if you lie down with dogs, you'll get up with fleas... Another old saying is "if the shoe fits, wear it." Conversely, if it doesn't fit one shouldn't put it on. I personally think the Fluke woman is a lib plant and Rush just happened to make a bad choice of names when he called her out on her motivation...

  14. Just to clear up one point. Any woman in the USA that needs contraceptives for any reason is already covered by TitleX. In case you think there may not be a clinic near Georgetown University, there are 15 within 5 miles of the campus. Any female that needs "women's health care" and does not have funds or insurance qualifies.

    **********************************************************

The whole point of this fiasco is President Obama's total disregard of the constitution's First Amendment granting religious freedom. The constitution forbids him or any president or congress from making laws that infringe on religion. You can argue all you want, but Ms Fluck's testimony was rejected by the Oversight Committee because it did not relate to the issue of the hearing. Soooo, in saunters Ms. Pelosi and holds another hearing so Ms Fluck can get her one-sided message out. She entered Georgetown for the express purpose of challenging their religious beliefs - she stated this in her interviews. It was a put-up deal to detract from the real trampling of the constitution. Now, if you believe the Constitution is just an old piece of brown paper, you are probably not concerned, but my ancestors fought and died for what is written on it and if we allow it to be trampled into the dirt, our country will become no better than Greece or any of the other socialist european countries.

As for Rush's statements - they were out of line and he has apologized. There has certainly been no apology from the liberal radio hosts that have made slanderous remards about conservative wormen.

BTW, Rush's popularity has not diminished because of this.

TG your observations are spot on and cannot be contravened. Fabulous! Thank you for the commentary and supporting Title X information for those that do not understand that Obamacare is a direct assault on the liberties our forefathers gave all to secure in the birth of our nation. This is a very concise presentation and I cannot say enough to articulate how blessed I am to share your views.

  15. What most people are forgetting is that its not the SL// comment its the governments mandate to once again tell companies that they must provide a benefit to people and have other people pay for it. My wife and I dont need birth control but our health insurance will go up if all carriers must provide this coverage. Plain and simple. They are going to mandate what kind of car I drive and how much electric i use and what kind of meals my grandchildren eat. Simply put ...PATHETIC...

The pathetic thing is that many will complain about intrusive government mandates and unfettered regulatory over-reaches by unelected bureaucrats, yet when they've wrung their hands for a while they simply accept the circumstances and resign to the encroachments as their civic duty to obey the law of the land. It seems to me that American independence has become a dusty, old idea few wish to be troubled with. We stand at the very precipice of a change our society will be the worse for...

    Wake up America!

No, there's actually plenty more to say on it. I believe you're missing the entire point of her testimony in the first place. This is about religous freedom and the government's attempt to trample that through a mandate that forces religions to abandon their moral values.

By the way, in her testimony she alluded to sex when she mentioned the married female student and her husband who had to give it up because they couldn't fit it in their budget. I could provide a link to prove this point, but I'll assume you're aware of this since you said you listened to her testimony.

    Excellent perspective. Thank you.

  16. Again as I stated you all are so quick to want to bring up forget the past...................... BUT YOU are the ones that continuesly brings it up, go back and read the post this was started on REVERSE RACISM and now who keeps bringing up the past, what this was was a very unfortunate incident that appears to have happened. By some stupid individuals to WHAT APPEARS at this point to be a innocent kid (which of course like Mojack tried to point out) we won't know until an investigation is completed, but he was attacked and NEG'd for speaking such......................... REMEMBER stonwall and others calling it REVERSE DISCRIMINATION and calling it BLACK on WHITE crime............ again like I said you people are a joke and want to cry leave the past in the past when its convienint for you, WELL STOP BRINGING IT UP!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! every chance you get like you say THE PAST IS THE PAST its not like it used to be when you BRING it others will DEFEND and RESPOND, thats usually what happens IN TODAYS society others don't have to sit at the back of the bus anylonger and keep quiet FREEDOM OF SPEECH goes both ways now as much as you all hate to accept that but thats the way it is, so don't make an issue when there isn't one and then expect not to get a rebuttal. Because lets make one thing very clear I didn't bring up the past I just responded to your thinking, I know you all hate the fact that i have that right now but like you so often like to say GET OVER IT.

So... Do you intend to say that because black Americans suffered social injustice that white Americans don't have a legitimate claim to decry an equally unjust circumstance? Is it your contention that we should sit down and shut up because we're now getting what we deserve? Are you truly so shallow? Wrong is wrong. I have never personally hated another person because of race, but every time I see or hear of someone attempting to justify bad behavior by a terrible past it makes me wrestle with negative emotions because no matter what happened in the past to anyone it still very simply comes down to individual responsibility. One is not a product of circumstance, but one is a product of choice and an individual refusal to do the right thing because it is right.

    • Upvote 2
  17. i dont think you have to bring race into it. my question is...why has it not been picked up by other papers country wide? it happened here in florida and it was in the news for quite a while. things like this make me think that an uninhabited island should be found and drop people like this on it with no means of escape. let them fend for themselves instead of them getting food and shelter in the current prison system.

...but the point is that race IS injected into every circumstance where the crime is perpetrated against a black American by a white American. It is also the case that any crime against a woman, a homosexual, a transgender, or some other politically correct group is dubbed a hate crime, but here you have a clear-cut case of a racially motivated act and the media sweeps it under other headlines. The teenagers responsible allegedly stated that the boy got what he deserved because he's white. We do not know if this is true but it would not have mattered to a media run amok if it had been white on black. This is the society we live in; one where a select groups crime is justified because of the past. To hell with that! Two wrongs don't make right and truth is truth...

Wake up America, before it's too late.

  18. Not really sure where the founding fathers come into this, considering that there really was no code for the flag until the early 1900's.

But if there was such a problem with a Governor of a US state doing this, then please explain why there does not seem to be any uproar or mention of dissent about the same Governor bestowing this honor last year for Clarence Clemons, a saxophonist for the E Street Band, which happened just last year. Why was the Governor of NJ not chastised by the Federal Government then if he did not have authority to bestow such an honor on ordinary citizens of his state?

I mention the founding Father's out of the abundant love for the system of government they envisioned. I responded regarding the flag protocols from the perspective that the time honored tradition of honoring the blood of patriots must not be watered down. Whitney Houston made a wonderful contribution of music during my life. She was a very. Beautiful woman with a very beautiful gift, but we cannot bestow the honor of dignitary on everyone who makes a contribution.

  19. By this statement, then flying the flag for fallen police officers or firefighters would not be allowed...

The flag code is not law. Whether we like it or not, it is simply a guideline for officially accepted flag etiquette.

No where in the flag code does it list burning the US flag in protest, but whether we agree with the practice or not, it is a practice that has been constitutionally protected as a means of freedom of speech.

My question would be, if it is constitutionally protected to burn the flag as a means of protest, why would it not be legal/acceptable for any governor of a US state to fly the flag at half staff in honor of a citizen of their state that they feel has done enough to warrant such an honor?

If the designated acceptable "ettiquette" is not adhered to, it becomes as fodder and is thereby rendered meaningless. As with all traditions it becomes perverted and saturates to the extent that everyone feels a legitimate service has been rendered and the next thing you know, hero dogs will be honored in this way. Then come the horses and all manner of beasts. The neighborhood butcher was a hero and must also be recognized. Let us not forget the bus drivers, taxi drivers and volunteer firefighters. The list goes on and on. This is the reason for laws, ordinances and ettiquette. There MUST be be guidelines for a free and civil society and we must voluntarily comply in order for such a noble idea to succeed. America is not perfect by a long shot but our Constitution and Bill Of Rights is the best of the best. Don't tread on Liberty or it will be your liberty in the end. Stand for freedom. Honor our founders idea of self governed society. Honor the ettiquette.

  20. I think its fine that they lowered the flag for her...she is an American and is well loved by many people...I have never served in the military but it's my flag too....our military fights for the rights and freedom of Americans, not just themselves...all deaths are tragic....

I appreciate your sentiment but, if you please, I refer you to the post by JaxinJersey on proper flag ettiquette. It is sentimental to feel that way, but it is errant. The flag code is precisely in place to prevent trivializing our national symbol. I really hate to disagree with a home girl, but I respectfully do in these matters.

  21. Why should it matter? If Warka is going to call themselves an "investment bank" Why can't they wire out more than 10k.

It didn't start as 125k it grew to that over the years.

I FIND IT HILARIOUS THAT NONE OF YOU ARE POINTING THE FINGER AT THE BANK THAT IS STONEWALLING ME.

The investment was different 4 years ago, the soldiers were still there and everyone was using Warka it wasn't a problem. It isn't sketchy, the bank has grown tremendously in that time, I know they have the money, they are just stonewalling me. And it sucks.

Okay. Maybe I'll be first. I POINT THE FINGER! There. I've done it. Now, as I understand it, the possible reason you put this information out here is... A. You want for us all to be warned of unscrupulous banking practices at WARKA, or B. You want us to join you in the mass pointing of fingers. Hopefully option A. is the correct choice...

I don't wish to be insulting, or condescending, but how was it productive for you to publicly imply that your family's welfare is at stake because of WARKA? It seems that you may have been a bit reckless if you tied the lion's share of your liquidity up in a foreign account that we have all viewed to be as speculative as the possibility of a huge return on the IQD. Maybe you need to look at what the other three fingers on the pointing hand are doing. Just sayin'... It seems obvious to me. B)
