zigmeister
Just as I thought, menopausal Hossam Acommok is going to give Allawi his marching papers. Good.
coolbeans
Ok so Allawi's own party is asking that he retire from politics and leave Iraq as a political failure. I hope this guy listens and does just that so they can move forward in peace. Pretty bad when you own party calls you a militant and accuses you of disrupting the whole nation.
zigmeister
In my opinion his own party wants to salvage their tattered reputation. It is a good sign they seem to be interested in keeping Iraq together and getting business done. It is the only way to prevent Maliki from steam rolling I think.

Integrativedoc
We just may soon see the extension of the olive branch in that M offers the Erbil agreement to the Iraqia as long as they bring a different politician to the table. I believe this was the only way to eliminate the trouble makers. Believe me, there is a plan. If you watched Maliki and Obama's speach, this was not 1 civilized man along side a barbarian. Sometimes we don't give them credit and want to assume they are uneducated tribalists. They do have their animosity for one another but they have come a long way in a short period with our influence.

mcjocky1
Friday, December 23, 2011 - 14:41] Karrar Saadi - Baghdad The failure of Iyad Allawi miserably kuna winner in the elections were stolen from him as prime minister by Maliki, who has cheated on all participants in the political process and became a total whole Prime Minister and Commander of the Armed Forces and Minister of Defense and the Interior Minister and Minister of Security Aloutma and chairman of the intelligence and the commander of necessity is the only winner of that he is returned to Iraq to dictatorship and restore the rule of one party leader and President Qaboos bin Said, has failed democracy in Iraq by the amateur politician who for the most important to them only with the benefits and spoils the authority of the Wa . Two sides to every story, as this is also on the same page as the main article and shown mistrust for Maliki. The only olive branch that Maliki might give is to let his opposition live and this is the future that many from the other parties fear might happen. Yes they may have come a long way in a short time but with regard to influence, as you say they are not all backwoods boys and the ones that we all see and recognise are highly educated (highly devious) and not to be thought of as fools, neither should we forget that no democracy survives without an opposition and it already looks like Maliki ,through the attempted removal of Deputy PM's and any other opposition. Petraeus comes out supposedly and admits that acts of attempted murder were known about and not acted on by either the American military or Iraqi security forces why. Accusations about Maliki using secret police type squads to arrest and torture people that have been heard about for three years, specific locations named but yet no official denial by any senior US Commanders or Petraeus, how long before "someone" announces information on these accusations. This is one big cesspit and should have been departed long ago, but as you say maybe they have learned a lot from "our" influence, good or bad?
