FEDERAL AGENTS DEMAND CUSTOMER LISTS FROM MORMON FOOD STORAGE FACILITY

12-09-2011 7:33 am - OathKeepers.org

Oath Keepers has learned that federal agents recently visited a Later Day Saints (Mormon) Church food storage cannery in Tennessee, demanding customer lists, wanting to know the identity of Americans who are purchasing food storage from the Mormons.

This incident was confirmed, in person, by Oath Keepers Tennessee Chapter President, Rand Cardwell. Here is Rand’s report:

“A fellow veteran contacted me concerning a new and disturbing development. He had been utilizing a Mormon cannery near his home to purchase bulk food supplies. The man that manages the facility related to him that federal agents had visited the facility and demanded a list of individuals that had been purchasing bulk food. The manager informed the agents that the facility kept no such records and that all transactions were conducted on a cash-and-carry basis. The agents pressed for any record of personal checks, credit card transactions, etc., but the manager could provide no such record. The agents appeared to become very agitated and after several minutes of questioning finally left with no information. I contacted the manager and personally confirmed this information.

This event points to a new level of federal government encroachment on the basic freedoms of the American people. Likewise, it points to a confused policy within federal agencies. The Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA), in their “Are You Ready?” guide to “In Depth Citizen Preparedness” recommends that citizens store emergency supplies, including bulk food, in the event of a natural disaster or man-made event (the new politically correct term applied to a terrorist attack). The FEMA guidance is spot-on as it allows individuals and families to be self-sufficient during an emergency situation.

And here in Tennessee, we just learned that Nashville Metro Public Health and the Tennessee Department of Health are conducting “door-to-door assessment of disaster preparedness … using a tool designed by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention to go door to door and check to see how disaster ready you are. .. in 30 neighborhoods in Davidson County [TN] that have been randomly selected to be the target of a door to door assessment.” I have confirmed that that is a state run effort.

So on the one hand, government agencies both state and federal are urging you to be prepared and even checking up on you to see how prepared you are, and on the other hand, we now have federal agencies that are attempting to gather information on individuals that are following FEMA suggestions. What is the reasoning behind gathering this information? Are American citizens now being “listed” by DHS if they are simply following FEMA guidance and purchasing bulk food and emergency supplies for their families? It appears as so.

This should be a red flag to all Americans. Not unlike the “trip wires” identified in the Oath Keepers list of orders that will not be obeyed, this incident should be considered as further evidence that our federal government is out of control. What business is it of the government if any of us purchase and store bulk food? Answer: It is none of their damn business! Maybe during the next Katrina-type event federal agents will storm your home to take your food stores along with your firearms. We can only theorize as to the motives of the government for this type of “list” being developed, but it goes against the very fabric of what a free people should allow by our government.” – Rand Cardwell.

Additional comments by Stewart Rhodes, Founder of Oath Keepers:

As Rand noted, it was fortunate that this particular cannery does not keep records of its customers. And Rand is correct that this is a very serious red flag. There’s a very good reason why one of the top ten orders that active duty Oath Keepers will refuse to obey is “We will NOT obey any orders to confiscate the property of the American people, including food and other essential supplies.” As our Declaration of Orders We Will Not Obey goes on to state:

“Deprivation of food has long been a weapon of war and oppression, with millions intentionally starved to death by fascist and communist governments in the 20th Century alone.

Accordingly, we will not obey or facilitate orders to confiscate food and other essential supplies from the people, and we will consider all those who issue or carry out such orders to be the enemies of the people.”

If those who carry out such orders to confiscate food are enemies of the people, then that same label also fits anyone in the government compiling lists of Americans who store food. There is no legitimate reason for the Department of Homeland Security to compile such lists. Al Qaida suicide bombers are not known to store powdered milk and buckets of wheat. Nor are they known to store away dehydrated carrots and instant potatoes, or fruit punch mix for the kids. But the Mormons are known to do so, and so are many other Americans who have the common sense and maturity to take personal responsibility for ensuring that their families will have food, come what may.

It is part of Mormon Church religious doctrine to store food for hard times and emergencies, with a recommendation that each family store a year’s worth of basic dry goods along with three months worth of store-bought canned and boxed foods. To facilitate that practice, the Mormon Church runs its own food storage canneries selling powdered milk, wheat, flour, rice and beans, sugar, salt, and various other dry goods either in bulk 50 lb bags or in #10 cans for long term food storage (up to 30 years for some items). These Church canneries also often sell food storage items to non-church members, seeing it as both morally right and prudent to help their neighbors store food, whatever their faith. The cannery in Tennessee that was “visited” by federal agents follows that practice of helping the general public become better prepared.

So why do federal agents want to know who is storing away long-term food storage? We suspect it is for the following reasons:

1. DHS/FEMA wants to know which Americans have food storage so the federal government can at some future point confiscate that food. Just as with lists of gun owners, compiling such lists is the first step toward future confiscation.

2. DHS wants to identify those Americans who are “switched on” and squared away enough to actually store food for coming hard times (such as during an economic collapse). That population of awake, aware, and prepared Americans poses a “threat” to whatever DHS and its masters have in store for the American people, and as Joseph Stalin so ably demonstrated, one of the easiest ways to subjugate defiant people is to confiscate their food and starve them into submission.

The federal government already tipped their hand by sending the FBI to military surplus stores (as we reported), gun stores, and pawn shops to encourage those businesses to spy on their customers who buy MRE’s (Meals Ready to Eat), bipods, “night flashlights”, high capacity magazines, rifle bipods, and bulk ammo. Maybe some of you fooled yourselves into thinking there might be some legitimate reason for them to track purchases of such items. But powdered milk and wheat berries? Those are hardly items that could be used in a terrorist attack. It must be the storage of food itself that the feds now find so offensive and so “dangerous.”

And while the door-to-door preparedness assessments in Tennessee appears to be well intended (and we spoke with a friendly state preparedness officer who said it was motivated by the recent natural disasters in Tennessee), Americans are well justified in being concerned about such efforts and how that information may be used in the future, in light of these other well documented and confirmed incidents of federal law enforcement collecting information on those who purchase preparedness items and indicating that the purchases of those items may be “indicators of terrorist activity.”

If you are one of the many Americans who still have on rose-colored glasses, or who still have your head buried in the sand (or stuck somewhere else warm and dark), it is time to pull your head out and face the reality of what the federal government is telling you by the actions of its agents. Those actions show both what they fear and their intent. What they fear are prepared, equipped, and “switched on” Americans, and their intent is to identify who they are, where they are, and then plan on dealing with them when the time comes. And rest assured that time will come. The recent U.S. Senate passage of S. 1867, which authorizes military detention and trial of U.S, citizens under the international laws of war (as if we were conquered Iraq or Afghanistan) is also an expression of their intent, and their contempt for the Bill of Rights.

Clearly, in light of the above, if you purchase food storage, along with any other preparedness items, you should be concerned about those purchases being tracked and your name winding up on some government list. But don’t let that stop you from storing food and other essential supplies, and don’t let this disturbing incident keep you from using your local Mormon cannery to do so. You need to get prepared. But do it while following the advice of James Wesley, Rawles over at www.survivalblog.com, who repeatedly urges his readers to “think OPSEC!” – if at all possible, buy with cash and pick it up in person, just like the customers of this particular cannery did, which left the “agitated” agents empty handed and frustrated. Good. That is as it should be. Don’t make it easy on them. And if you have not yet begun to store food, now is certainly a good time to start. You’re going to need it. Time is short, and you need to be prepared for what is coming. “Are You Ready?” indeed. – Stewart Rhodes

Wow, people thrive on conspiracies. amazing...if your government wanted everything form you, they would already have it. im sure theres more to the story, but your not going to get any info from a federal agent as to why they want the information. imo, a probable suspect they have and there trying to tie events together. But, people always assume the worst right.

What these communist tyrants want is to get the food away from people, and then they can starve people into giving up their firearms. They are evil tyrants trying to bring in a full blown communist police state just like the edomites had in the old soviet union. It's happening now in America, and people, it's not a conspiracy theory, but hard facts. They know many patriots have majority of their firearms stored away from their homes, so to get those firearms, they need to starve them into giving them up without having to fight them, because they know they cannot beat the people in a guerilla war. The edomite Levin, and traitor John McCain just wrote the communist bill to lock people up with no trails, so that should tell folks what's going on. Believe it, or shrug it off as a conspiracy, but it's not.

Keep trusting that your government is there to help you, and not them self.

This arose as a quotation by John Emerich Edward Dalberg Acton, first Baron Acton (1834–1902). The historian and moralist, who was otherwise known simply as Lord Acton, expressed this opinion in a letter to Bishop Mandell Creighton in 1887:

Power tends to corrupt, and absolute power corrupts absolutely. Great men are almost always bad men."

Another English politician with no shortage of names - William Pitt, the Elder, The Earl of Chatham and British Prime Minister from 1766 to 1778, is sometimes wrongly attributed as the source. He did say something similar, in a speech to the UK House of Lords in 1770:

"Unlimited power is apt to corrupt the minds of those who possess it"

I'll give you a +1 to help. As you can see unless you rail against the government and believe that it's out to get you then you will just get negged all over. It's really unbelievable how crazy most of the people int his forum are. You have to start yelling at your computer and call everyone a communist or socialist or whatever to fit in around here...... I'm pretty sure dinar dealers got most of their sales from wacko blogs and such. The sad part is that all the crazy people have guns....

If only the food storage facility knew their County Sheriff's phone number. They could have had the Feds thrown out of the county. The Sheriff is the most powerful position, even has more power in his county than the Feds and could kick their arse out.

If I ran a gun shop or a food storage facility, I would keep the Sheriff's number on speed dial. If the Feds came, I would call the Sheriff and have them thrown out of the county.

Please allow me my moment of madness then. If you take all guns away from citizens who are honest and hard working who then are the ones left holding guns? At that point when a federal, task force whatever name they may go by at the time, come to your home with guns, who is the wierd gun carrying idiots now? When you allow a police run state to disarm citezens you have to ask why they want to disarm citizens. When you pass a bill that calls you a possible terrorist if you have more than 7 days of food then waht happens to people who get paid once a month or twice a month? We are all possible terrorists. You spineless creatures that are afraid of guns are getting ready to be ruled by guns but not guns in the hands of fellow Americans, no, it will be guns in the hands of UN forces. You have no idea why these folks are wanting to take away our freedoms but did they give us a vote on the bill of rights that has been altered and that we are now aware of and fighting to get back. No! we had no clue. It was a secret meeting and was done in secret. Every one of these people in this secret meeting are traitors of the USA and our constitution. That is what our founding fathers knew could happen because they had lived through and in that type of governement. DO you really think that everyone will have an equal allotment if socialism wins? Are you insane? Has it ever worked? NO!! Absolute power corrupts absolutely! This is the United States of America but we are not united. I for one will fight for my constitution and bill of right s because in the day you give it up you are no longer free. I hope Oklahoma breaks away from the union with the USA and many other states also if they continue down this road to strip our freedoms and confine us to the whims of men who have an evil agenda that is yet to be revealed.

Yes, America is great.

And those that are awake,

will fight to keep it that way.

You are loosing freedoms every day.

If your ok with that, then maybe your the one

Fact: the new law put into effect that stinks to the high heavens states that anybody who has more than 7 days of food in storage can be detained indefinitely because they may be a terrorist now is already being practiced by federal agents is downright scary and infuriating. Anybody who has looked up a Iraq article or has dinar or has looked at a site in a foreign country could be a terrorist. This is a law that takes our freedoms away completely and its not a conspiracy theory its a fact.

you dont get it or you are purposely being obtuse. This law is an act of terrorism. I feel as though we have some of the traitors among us. Any person who is gullible enough to allow this flagrant stripping of our freedom is either braiwashed, stupid or a terrorist them ownselves. Wake up America because a lot of you argue for the terrorists amongst us. The bill of rights allows me to own a gun and buy food for a time of trouble so that if I have to survive and fight for my country from within I can. These folks dont want me to have that ability. WHY!!!!!

Hey look....what used to be called conspiracy theories are right now showing up as Accepted FACT.

As a disclaimer I will say that the following are just thoughts and projections....possibilities....

Whenever I hear a news story about some disaster, and let's go right back to 9/11....cos that's the one that changed the whole world forever......I ask myself:

WHO BENEFITS from this awful event??? Who has a motive?

So who benefited from 9/11? The alleged terrorists? No

Islamic/Muslims in general?? Certainly not.

Iraq? Clearly not.

Afghanistan? No

The UN, Trilateral commission, IMF, and other people who want to bring in a fascist global dictatorship that controls every aspect of people's lives? YES, yes and yes.

The club of Rome, the Zionist Fed Banking cartel, the bush/Cheney cartel? The owner of the twin towers who badly needed to get rid of the astbestos in his buildings...and who ramped up the insurance on his buildings juuuust before the so called attacks??? Yes, yes and yes...they ALL benefited from the 9/11 event. It sure helped all of those people speed up their plans for an Orwellian 1984 style of world governance....and the company that owned the WTC b uildings got a nice insurance payout...sweet!!!!!

Another huge scale disaster is being planned for you folks and the world, right now...not by the Muslims...and yup, we better be ready for it.

GOD BLESS THE OATH KEEPERS!!!!! Anyone in the armed forces, police or homeland security who is NOT with the OATH KEEPERS....well...they are working for the interests of the government....a government that is about to start behaving worse than the worst "rogue" government you've ever seen on earth. Good blooming luck to you. The oath keepers are fantastic people, who work in the interests of the people....of whom their government is supposed to be a part...but...hmmmm...apparently not...but you know...it's not REALLY the government...it's their owners and controllers. Politicians are, after all, nothing but sales people...front people...puppets and pawns....to be pitied. Their judgement will come.

I am not a conspiracy theorist, never have been.

And I still think many get a little flaky with some of their theories way out in left field.

However it has become increasingly clear that the citizens of our country are losing freedoms and privileges never before believed.

The gov't can now come in and confiscate private property on a suspicion of illegal activity. IT does not have to be true suspicion or proven to be true and they are not required to return the property confiscated even if they never file charges or prove fault or illegal activity in court. (I promise you I know this first hand)

They can now come and take your private property (land) from you and use it how they like if they think they have a better purpose for it than you have. This is now a law passed by your gov't.

Now under the guise of the patriot act they have removed numerous rights of its public citizens and made it easy to impose martial law virtually at will. This is exactly how Hitler came into power.

There is now legislation that will remove citizens rights on even a more sinister level being voted on now. Where a US citizen may be detained in jail for an unlimited amount of time without charge.

If of course you are not aware of these developments then it would definitely sound like a lunatic ranting and spouting about conspiracies. As for me it is apparent that there is much more happening on the down-low than what many people realize.

Is a stage being set? We would be foolish not to at least consider it as a possibility. Governments exist to keep themselves in power not the people. I believe that there are definitely people in government who do have the interest of the people in mind. That number is growing smaller by the day.

I have made plans for worst case scenario for me and my family. I do not advertise it or shout it from the mountain tops. My greatest desire is that it will not be necessary and it was unnecessary preparation.

As Ronald Reagan once said "The worst thing you can dare ever hear is ""We are with the Gov't and we are here to help"".

We stop being free on 9/11. IE Patroit Act under who's leadership did that come into play? NUFF SAID

THe important question I am asking you is have we learned from history so we don't repeat the mistakes of others in the past, i.e. (Hitler)?

Would this country be better off if Al Gore would have been elected when 911 happened? Do you believe there wouldn't be a Patriot Act if Gore would have been President?

Now if you don't mind, tell me, what are the great accomplishments of this administration that you are so quick to protect/support?

When a President puts a birth certificate on the whitehouse website that numerous people have stated is a fraud and not one person has stated any differently don't you want to know why?

Last but not least, I see you are located in Iskandariya, Iraq. I assume you are serving our country and if my assumption is correct thank you. But I would like to ask you this, are you OK with the President of the United States appointing czars that are communist? and if so why? I would think that laying your life on the line and seeing known communist appointed by the President and advising the President would be troublesome. Please help me to understand how this is acceptable.
