What do you think will happen when Iraqi Oil hits the market?

Are gas and oil prices going to plumet when Iraq starts flooding the market with their gas and oil? I am sure we all could use relief at the pump. However my thoughts are for air quailty reasons. (fly over LA NY Boston Newark or an other huge metro hub and see the smog) I would like to see prices stay high and force more green energy. The Wind and Sun are free and dont polute. Plus lets face it IMHO the more business we do in the Middle East the more we unknowingly fund terroist organizations.

Not to worry... Iraq is basing their 2012 budget on $85 per barrel.. The US oil and gas companies are not going to give up profits to help us out at the pump.

Our gas pump prices will never go down to what they once were (unless we use our own country's oil and the politicians are well paid to make sure that doesn't happen anytime soon.)

I take it your into the whole Green Energy thing. As some one who is in the Oil and Gas industry, I am Pro Oil and Gas. But with that being said...I do believe that there is a place for solar and wind power, But to switch over completely to Green Energy would be foolish. Why? Glad you asked. I invite you and all else who is curious to google by products of Oil and Gas industry. Things that we use everyday and don't realize it. All those ingredients would have to be imported from overseas. You would see a 1000% increase in cost of everyday items. You wanna talk about Hyperinflation. But hey, what do I know...I am just a dumb deep sea diver.

Don't worry our government has your back. They just canceled a huge shale drill project in Ohio. No worry it only cost 200,000 jobs. Not to mention when the shut down the gulf. That only cost us about 2,000,000 jobs. But again, they have our back because we are funding drilling of the shore of Brazil. By the way isn't the new leader there a known Marxist?

Actually Brazils leader was on 60 minutes a few months back. He has no High School Education he is a socialist and Brazil is the next up and coming China. Their economy is flurishing along with the fact the news story stated they have now exceeded the USA with Exports... But dont worry our Ivy league Government leaders will rescue us LOL (Yes I love the USA just not happy with Washington at the moment)

I'm an Electrical Design Engineer and I know exactly what your talking about, only 2 years ago we completed Europe's largest onshore wind farm here in Scotland total output is only 322MW ........ we also build nuclear power stations ....... no wind farm or solar farm will ever replace or even match the power output from a power station.

there is a place for renewable energy sources but they certainly will not be the backbone of any grid network.

Oil prices are here to stay if not go up lol ....... its human nature if were willing to pay $80 , $90 or whatever today why would they sell it for $20 or $30 tomorrow even if they have more to sell. it's just the way it is.

Yes I am into Green and Clean but I am also a realist... THere is a need for both green and oil products. We just need to be more responiclble on how we us both..

Thanks for the correction. I am so happy that we had to send them money to help with drilling when they are exceeding us in Exports. Didn't Soros buy down there, if I remember correctly???
