'SAME-SEX' UNIONS CALLED "DESTRUCTIVE"

To think that two loving adults, no matter of what sex, cannot bring up a child that is a social benefit to mankind, is simply preposterous. This is one of the most idiotic, irrational, bias and uninformed postings that has ever been posted. It is so stupid that anyone reading your post is dumber for having read it.

If it was worthy of a debate, I’ll slap you silly with facts, but it’s frankly not even worth my time to further denounce.

I'm a person that cares about other human beings regarless of their sexual preference, race, religon or creed...you Sir, must be the other guy!

well said.... with you all the way...what has happened to peace, love & understanding...

Really!!! We have more important things to worry about. It's called an RV. biggrin.gif

This is the off topics forum, if you have more important things to do why are reading in the off topics forum? It's amazing when people submit something in the off topic forum that doesn't line up with your belief/understanding whatever you wish to call it then everyone else is to move on. Move on!

Okay ... for all the self serving ... look at me, God loves me and my way of life only thumpers out there .... How many of you straights are divorced, overweight, tatooed.? I could keep this list going on. Why is that you can be a divorced, tatooed, fat straight and be wonderful in God's eyes but every *** is damned to hell. You all are a disgrace to the God of love of the New Covenant. I could keep this argument going all night but it is too easy.

DIVORCE Jesus replied, "Moses permitted you to divorce your wives because your hearts were hard. But it was not this way from the beginning. I tell you that anyone who divorces his wife, except for marital unfaithfulness, and marries another woman commits adultery."

GLUTONY "Do you not know that you are God's temple and that God's Spirit dwells in you? If anyone destroys God's temple, God will destroy him. For God's temple is holy, and you are that temple."

Now the works of the flesh are evident: sexual immorality, impurity, sensuality, idolatry, sorcery, enmity, strife, jealousy, fits of anger, rivalries, dissensions, divisions, envy, drunkenness, orgies, and things like these. I warn you, as I warned you before, that those who do such things will not inherit the kingdom of God.

Do you suppose, O man—you who judge those who practice such things and yet do them yourself—that you will escape the judgment of God?

The God of the old testament/covenant was judgement and wrath. The God of the New Testament/covenant is one of love and mercy. The God of the Old condoned an eye for an eye. The God of the New condemed hypocrisy and judging. GET IT RIGHT.

The God of the Old Testament and the God of the New Testament are one and the same! And nowhere did He condone homosexuality! Does God love homosexuals? Yes! Doeas he want them to remain homosexual? No! To love someone is not to condone wrong actions. We have a society that wants to live like animals and yet scream out that they are not loved if someone points out a mistake or a wrong action. I have a family member who DECIDED the *** life style was what he really wanted to live. HIS decision! He THOUGHT it was what he wanted! He THOUGHT it was cool! He THOUGHT he identified with it! He NEVER thought he was born that way and couldn't fight the feeling any more! So he left his wife and daughter and became a sperm receptacle for every other male who wanted to experiment with that lifestyle. So, we fast forward 20 years and now he has conttracted HIV and has been dumped by all the cool dudes who don't want him any more since he is now emaciated and full of sores. Do I still love him? Yes! Do I condemn him? No! Does he condemn himself? YES! Could he have somehow contracted this disease if he had been straight and in a monogamous relationship? Possibly but not likely! Does he still see it as cool? NO! Does he still want to identify with that lifestyle? NO! Is he seeking help and trying to recover his self esteem and the ability to lead a normal life? YES! His biggest problem is trying to forgive himself for the years he wasted in that idiotic confusion! If the whole world starts doing it that still won't MAKE GOD ACCEPT it asd normal, moral, or acceptable! Moe Moe you can try all day but you can never find scientific, reasonable, or ethical reasons for this lifestyle! Not even close! Children raised in this mess are normally just that: a mess! But you take some of the comments here and that mess that looks to run for ever about the crazy side of DV and its easy to see where peoples interests lie!God made Adam and Eve! Not Adam and Steve!

Really!!! We have more important things to worry about. It's called an RV. :D

I stayed out of this as long as possible. IMHO the Holy Word of God condemns homosexualty...it also condemns untruthfulness, adultery, covetousness, stealing, taking of life, dishonoring our parents, keeping the sabbath holy, idolatry, placing anything ahead of God, and taking the Lord's name in vain.

Now because I have not had sex with another man am I less of a sinner than an open homosexual, or because I had sex with my neighbor's wife, am I better than the guy who robbed the beer store? Not for me to judge, we have all sinned and come short of the glory of GOD. The key here is belief that Jesus died for ALL of our sins, and without accepting him as your personal savior, there is NO WAY you will enter the gates of heaven, whether you like it or not.

And for someone to think that this RV is more worth talking about than salvation, I will merely invite you to come into the LIGHT!

Goodness me what a hot debate this has become. I am British, and frankly this attack by the religious zealots in here I find not only bizarre but for the most part so hypocritical. No, I don't know you God fearing people, but on the face of it screaming your values at others when you only have to pick up any newspaper on virtually a weekly basis and see the truly criminal perversions of the Catholic church, especially for those to whom many have entrusted their most adored boy children to at boarding school, one of many extraordinarily horrid stories to me, and I really do think that the last thing you should all be harping on about is someone's sexuality. Exploitation of the truly vunerable is vile.

In the name of God even the dinar, bit of topical stuff lol, has been used to con people, we see that every day in the rumours section.

I have watched the Evangelical in America, hmm, and seen some of the justification for having vulgar wealth, multiple marriages and worse, and I will say that I would rather spend the evening with an open, entertaining and funny *** than any of them.

We are Church of England, which means we keep our mouths shut, help as much as we can, and abhor hypocrites and bigots. I never usually discuss religion or politics, but this proves to me I would far rather be kind to those that are kind to me, whatever side they are batting on, simply none of my business, than having mortality rammed down my throat by someone who I have no desire to be in the same room with.

And as a side note, if it had not been for many a homosexual, we would not be able to enjoy their wonderful art and music even through their persecution.

My brief thoughts over, and imo consenting ADULTS should be able to whatever they like as long as they don't hurt others.

we could argue for and against til the cows come home (with the bull)...but those of us that do not believe homosexuality is healthy, good, moral will not change the minds of those that do and vice versa...only an individual can take responsibility for their action and it is up to each of us to decide what is morally right or wrong for ourselves....I personally know it isn't right for me and I read recently where archeologists had uncovered ruins they feel are an indication that indeed the story of Sodom and Gomorrah have been verified...I'm sure some will not believe that story but there again...a choice...with all that said....lets all be friends , practice what we think is right for us and move on as all this discussion has been hashed many times with no good closure....cheers dear friends and may we all remain friends regardless :)

Well, I sure hope the cattle are not mix bred cattle that are eating on fields planted with multiple crops and I hope their herders are not wearing clothes made of more than one fabric, divorced, or tatooed ..... would not want the cattle herder to be damned to hell for the admonitions of the Old Covenant. Oh, but then again, the only way he would be going to hell is if the cattle herder was ***. I forgot.

All I can really say at this point to those that defend their position in a continued sinful lifestyle is that you have made your choice, and that is what God has given you the free will to do. :)

but, as the poison and lies spew forth falsely in the name of "love, caring & tolerance" may I caution you in love that you are guiding others down the same path of destruction and I believe will

be held accountable for it, especially if your views and opinions lead children into the fire.

My hope is that all would come to know Jesus Christ as their Lord & Savior.

Plus 10,000 from me. I love America more than anything and am fiercely Red/White/Blue ..... but OMG hypocrisy runs wild on this site amongst many. There are so many here of the "name it and claim it" mindset that believe God wants them to inherit wealth because they are special in Gods eyes and ofcourse they spout how much good they will do once God grants them what they are worthy of. That said, I truly wonder how many tithe as they should, care for their fellow less fortunate man, etc. This site is inundated with people who spew hate and judgement in the name of God. I doubt half the people on here spouting this garbage even dust off their Bibles more than a half dozen times a year. Pointed out previously on this site are so many Biblical Scriptures that should make any person question the hate spewed towards gays and the self loving attitudes of many who believe that they alone are of the CHOSEN. I truly want to know why Straight Christians are allowed to have multiple spouses over the years because they grow tired of the old, why they are allowed to gorge themselves at the buffets until they destroy their "temple", why they are allowed to tattoo and pierce themselves, eat shellfish/bacon like it is going out of style, etc? WHY? It is because they like to pick and choose what they want to believe and toss judgement at.

Fact of the matter is that many of the admonitions of the O.T. were given as a decree for tribes to remain healthy and dissease free and to populate, etc. Times were very different. Do we really think the God of Love of today cares if you eat bacon or wear clothes of multiple fibers? NO ..... there was cause in O.T. times of sanitation and population reasons. Tribes needed to grow and stay strong and healthy. It is so abundantly clear.

All I can really say at this point to those that defend their position in a continued sinful lifestyle is that you have made your choice, and that is what God has given you the free will to do. :)

How many times have you been married? Are you slothful or overweight? Do you tithe and truly give the shirt off your back to those in need? Do you go out and preach the word or hide behind an anonymous screen name to do so only and wave your ams in the air on Sunday morning? Are you truly caring for your family as you should or are you worse than an infidel? Has the dinar become a god of its own to you? Do you or any of those you know have tatoos or piercings? Ever work on the Sabath? SERIOUSLY PEOPLE .... JUDGE MUCH OUT OF A DESIRE TO FEEL SUPERIOR TO OTHERS?

MARK, and WILLY, I am so proud of you guys. My joy is renewed that there are still people out there, who GET IT. We all sin, we are all sinners. Homosexuality is no different than me lie-ing(which God says He hates). He Hates SIN not the SINNER.The ones who think they are being judged by the Christians don't get it. They are speaking out of a defensive heart. I have many homosexual friends, whom I love so very much. I want them to know God (Jesus). I know that if they do.....GOD will help them to understand why He calls it an abomination.Just as He did with the sin in my life. and why those like Mark have given up that sin for the love of a savior, and now truly live free, and with much joy!!! We just want every person's joy to be full! All of us are sucked dry of joy because of SIN WE ALLOW IN OUR LIVES.Life just doesn't seem to be satisfying....that is because,Right is right and wrong is wrong....Jesus is truth and everything else a lie. He created you for a purpose, for His Glory. He came so that you might have LIFE, and have it more abundantly. That is why He died......How much more could He do to show you He loves you? How can you argue you that? You cannot with any legitimacy.Do you want your life to count? Do you want this Christmas to really have meaning? Ask God, give your WILL over to Him! I challenge you to give it your best effort from now until Christmas to learn as much as you can about the TRUE Jesus. Ask Him to speak to you through His word.......Once you experience HIM really experience Him with a true humble heart. You will never be the same! Peace to all of you this CHRISTmas season, and my your joy be full!

Teresa, you sound like a Christian who I respect .. much like my parents, but I genuinely want to know why Homosexuality is still an abomination of God, when all of the below listed are now not ..even those it shows that God abhored and detested them as well ..... They are all isted within a few short verses or chapters of each other in the same book .. Leviticus ... seriously ..explain, did God just decide all of the below were acceptable except for homosexulaity or did he make a mistake or are all still abhorant or are we all screwed for lack of a better word. Genuinely want to know. We do not live in O.T. times ... those admonitions of the O.T. were for the times of the O.T. dealing with health and tribe strength and numbers.

I didn't realize this was about me but I do have answers for you to enjoy :)

married once & still for 22 years, slender to a medium build, (tithing is between one & God, not to include an auditor) but, I tithe abundantly with my time and tithe monetarily as well, I enjoy helping those in need when I can, I share the good news of Jesus where ever I go (not hiding, we all have screen names here :P ), I do raise my arms in worship yes on Sunday and sometimes a midweek service and sometimes driving down the freeway :) , are you muslim? if so then I am an infidel :) , there is only one true God in 3 persons Father, Son & Holy Spirit - no currency is my god although I do spend time researching and watching the developments in this IQD speculation. While on this ride it is nice to be able to share the truth of the word of God with others in this "off topic forum". I have no tatoos but I know alot of people who do. I volunteer my time at church on the Sabbath if you want to call that work I cannot argue.

I know that guilt and conviction will cause people to scream hate & judgement and play the victim role as they attack those that share the truth "in love", but really no individual has been judged here, but only the sin itself and the lack of willingness to repent.

Your question is an honest one,and legitimate. Although it is true that God never changes...some of the rules He set forth are now obsolete. We now have means of preservation of foods, and such(not that those foods are any better for you than they were back then) BUT! You must understand, that God gave us the Law for our sake not for HIS.He is GOD and He is not under any law, but He also will not be a liar. Who would or could for that matter respect and worship a liar? That being said...all of the laws were to protect us from the entities/game plan that He set in place when He spoke the world into existence......Does God hate the homosexual? the one who has the abortion? the one who murders? NO He loves them more than they could EVER imagine. SO WHY? Why does He not want us to commit those "sins"? When we do those things, He knows(because he made the rules from the beginning) that it will break us on the inside. That our guilt and fear would cause us to run away from Him. Take for one example the girls who is talked into getting an abortion when she is very young, and doesn't understand how she may feel years down the road about that life, can tell you the torment and terrible sadness she goes through every day of her life because of an immature decision. God hurts when we hurt, and when He tells us not to run in the street...... it's because He doesn't want us to get hit by a car!!! He doesn't want us to divorce because of the destruction to our lives, and to the lives of those around us.It's because of that LOVE that He requires us to behave.........OK SO WE HAVEN'T BEEN BEHAVING!!!! SO NOW WHAT? ARE WE CONDEMNED???? HELL? NO!

So if you all get nothing else I would love for you to hear this part because this is the coolest part of the God that created the universe!

" THAT GOD SO LOVED THE WORLD(you and me) THAT HE GAVE HIS ONE AND ONLY SON TO DIE ON THE CROSS".For the sins He knew you were going to commit. HE MADE A WAY! HE LOVED YOU so much he made a way for you to be sealed with a full ride scholarship to eternity with HIM."That WHOSOEVER simply BELIEVE IN HIM. WILL NEVER PERISH BUT HAVE ETERNAL LIFE!" John 3:16. If you know nothing else about your God, at least know this!HE MADE A WAY for the worst of sinners to be free once and for all! We can all be stupid sometimes and even go a little overboard in defense of the God we love, but the fact and truth of the matter is that if you love Jesus and make Him ruler of your life, you will be His! All you have to do is ask!

I can tell you all these things with Joy because I am one of the greatest of sinners, and yet...He made a way for me, and I am so grateful. I am now free to love and see others like He sees you all! If you only knew How much He loves you and wants you to draw near to Him!

In Christ

See, this is where you are wrong ... I do believe in Christ the Savior who came to save and not to judge and was a man who loved like no other. All of the condemnation spewed forth and resistance to answering legitimate questions which I have posed shows a blind following to a faith (IMHO). If I am correct, which I believe to be .... the Scripture tells us all to seek the truth and not to blindly follow and accept. I have asked legitimate questions pertaining to passages in Leviticus and the commands of the times. I asked why homosexuality is supposedly still abhorant but none of the others categorized with it are. How come some get a free pass and not one specifically. I have asked this numerous times and no one addresses it ... all ignore it. I posed that the whole lot had to do with tribes needing to populate and stay strong and healthy and all I get back is "ewww ..*** people are sinners and disgusting" "repent", etc. I know that I am being agressive here and I do not like to be. I just get tired of people 1) judging without foundation, 2) skirting around questions that the Bible commands believers to be prepared to answer, 3) lumping all gays together. Just as all straights are not thrice divorced, dead beat parents who tramp around in secret behind their spouses at Fantasy Fest, not all Gays are in your face boa and assless chap wearing, agenda driven baristas at Starbucks. Also, for those who believe HIV is a *** dissease as pretty much said here .... wow, gather facts .... sure there is a higher percentage of gays who have the dissease than straights, but still much more straights have HIV than gays as well as all the other sexually transmitted disseases. So many people are blindly afraid of what they do not know and listen strictly to what their agenda driven religious leaders spout.

I have tried my hardest to stay out of this, because I knew I’d blow a gasket. But sometimes, a Lesbian has got to do, what shes got to do.

It seems that a few runs have been made on the social/scientific aspects of why same sex union may not be beneficial for mankind. I think my fellow Happy People, have done very well at answering those questions. So we are left with the Christian Zealots, now why doesn’t that surprise me? Bias always comes from ignorance it seems. So, since your weapon of choice seems to be the quoting of the Good Book, let’s see what this “instruction manual for a better society” has to say about other subjects, like say: Slavery, Rape, Treatment of Women, and Child Abuse. And just so we aren’t pulling EVERYTHING out of the Old Testament, I conclude with what Jesus would do.

Enjoy…and remember, you are the ones that pulled the verses out to match your interpretation, so fair is fair. Besides, my father always taught me, the best Defense, is a Great Offense. So let’s see what you can offer up in your Defense. :)

Slavery in the Bible

Except for murder, slavery has got to be one of the most immoral things a person can do. Yet slavery is rampant throughout the Bible in both the Old and New Testaments. The Bible clearly approves of slavery in many passages, and it goes so far as to tell how to obtain slaves, how hard you can beat them, and when you can have sex with the female slaves.

Many Jews and Christians will try to ignore the moral problems of slavery by saying that these slaves were actually servants or indentured servants. Many translations of the Bible use the word "servant", "bondservant", or "manservant" instead of "slave" to make the Bible seem less immoral than it really is. While many slaves may have worked as household servants, that doesn't mean that they were not slaves who were bought, sold, and treated worse than livestock.

The following passage shows that slaves are clearly property to be bought and sold like livestock.

However, you may purchase male or female slaves from among the foreigners who live among you. You may also purchase the children of such resident foreigners, including those who have been born in your land. You may treat them as your property, passing them on to your children as a permanent inheritance. You may treat your slaves like this, but the people of Israel, your relatives, must never be treated this way. (Leviticus 25:44-46 NLT)

The following passage describes how the Hebrew slaves are to be treated.

If you buy a Hebrew slave, he is to serve for only six years. Set him free in the seventh year, and he will owe you nothing for his freedom. If he was single when he became your slave and then married afterward, only he will go free in the seventh year. But if he was married before he became a slave, then his wife will be freed with him. If his master gave him a wife while he was a slave, and they had sons or daughters, then the man will be free in the seventh year, but his wife and children will still belong to his master. But the slave may plainly declare, 'I love my master, my wife, and my children. I would rather not go free.' If he does this, his master must present him before God. Then his master must take him to the door and publicly pierce his ear with an awl. After that, the slave will belong to his master forever. (Exodus 21:2-6 NLT)

Notice how they can get a male Hebrew slave to become a permanent slave by keeping his wife and children hostage until he says he wants to become a permanent slave. What kind of family values are these?

The following passage describes the sickening practice of sex slavery. How can anyone think it is moral to sell your own daughter as a sex slave?

When a man sells his daughter as a slave, she will not be freed at the end of six years as the men are. If she does not please the man who bought her, he may allow her to be bought back again. But he is not allowed to sell her to foreigners, since he is the one who broke the contract with her. And if the slave girl's owner arranges for her to marry his son, he may no longer treat her as a slave girl, but he must treat her as his daughter. If he himself marries her and then takes another wife, he may not reduce her food or clothing or fail to sleep with her as his wife. If he fails in any of these three ways, she may leave as a free woman without making any payment. (Exodus 21:7-11 NLT)

So these are the Bible family values! A man can buy as many sex slaves as he wants as long as he feeds them, clothes them, and screws them!

What does the Bible say about beating slaves? It says you can beat both male and female slaves with a rod so hard that as long as they don't die right away you are cleared of any wrong doing.

When a man strikes his male or female slave with a rod so hard that the slave dies under his hand, he shall be punished. If, however, the slave survives for a day or two, he is not to be punished, since the slave is his own property. (Exodus 21:20-21 NAB)

You would think that Jesus and the New Testament would have a different view of slavery, but slavery is still approved of in the New Testament, as the following passages show.

Slaves, obey your earthly masters with deep respect and fear. Serve them sincerely as you would serve Christ. (Ephesians 6:5 NLT)

Christians who are slaves should give their masters full respect so that the name of God and his teaching will not be shamed. If your master is a Christian, that is no excuse for being disrespectful. You should work all the harder because you are helping another believer by your efforts. Teach these truths, Timothy, and encourage everyone to obey them. (1 Timothy 6:1-2 NLT)

In the following parable, Jesus clearly approves of beating slaves even if they didn't know they were doing anything wrong.

The servant will be severely punished, for though he knew his duty, he refused to do it. "But people who are not aware that they are doing wrong will be punished only lightly. Much is required from those to whom much is given, and much more is required from those to whom much more is given." (Luke 12:47-48 NLT)

Why Women And The Bible Don’t Mix

After thousands of years of recorded history, we’re just now arriving at a point where women are starting to receive fair and equal treatment in many societies. It’s an irrefutable historical fact that some of the major sources of this unsolicited oppression were drawn from references of women’s treatment in the Old and New Testaments. This chapter will show that the Bible takes a clear and undeniable stance in its advocation for the unequal treatment of women. Furthermore, I will prove that the authors of the Bible intended for women to play the role of a man’s servant from birth until death. I will consistently and successfully defend this position using the words of God, allegedly speaking through Moses. Through this demonstration, I hope you will see that the incredibly dishonest teachings of Moses arose from an earthly source inferior to an omniscient deity. Subsequent works of Paul and his peers show only how gullible they were in so readily accepting the Old Testament scriptures as fact.

After reading this chapter, I hope you will have a greater awareness of how the Bible instructs men to treat women. More importantly, I hope you will appreciate the lack of divine inspiration behind such commands encouraging this mistreatment. The only alternative is to conclude, yet again, that a deity with desires this immoral is clearly not worthy of observance.

The Rules Of Marriage

Let’s start our analysis at the “beginning.” Everyone has heard the story of God becoming angry with Adam and Eve for eating the forbidden fruit in the Garden of Eden. Although God punishes both for disobeying his directions, the author clearly places the majority of the blame on Eve for tempting her husband. God says to Eve, “thy desire is to be to thy husband, and he shall rule over thee” (Genesis 3:16). Since the other suppressing punishments on the couple, such as Eve’s childbirth pains, are still in effect, we have no justifiable reason to think that the servitude punishment applies solely to Eve and not the gender as a whole. If the Bible is the true word of God, this passage demonstrates his desire for women to live life in subservience to men. In actuality, however, someone most likely invented this portion of the patently unreliable story as a justification for the ongoing inferior treatment of women.

Chapter 21 of Exodus provides us with some very detailed instructions from God on women and marriage. For example, in the instance that a father sells his daughter to another man who is not pleased with her, she must be redeemed. Regardless of the amount of satisfaction that the girl provides for the man, God’s rules still allow him to acquire another wife. If he so chooses, the first wife is not allowed to leave unless her master refuses her food, clothing, or other marriage duties (Exodus 21:7-11). These words would later serve as justification for men, such as King David, who had hundreds of wives and concubines. We’ve also learned in this passage that women are to be sold as slaves and treated as sex objects. If you dislike this conclusion and still believe the Bible to be the divinely inspired word of God, you must either unwillingly follow God’s derogatory and dehumanizing orders or take an opposing position against the almighty.

The demoralizing instructions for daughter selling aren’t the only rules of marriage that God sanctions. If a man decides he no longer wants to be married to his wife, he can attempt to have her killed by claiming that she lost her virginity prior to their marriage. Following this accusation, the woman must then provide sufficient physical evidence, such as a bloodstain, to demonstrate that his accusations are fraudulent. In the event that she fails to prove her innocence of this “crime,” she is to be stoned to death because of this utmost act of disgrace. Guilty until proven innocent is the law within God’s court. Any woman who accidentally tears her hymen due to an injury or other non-sexual act is simply out of luck because she could never prove her virginity. Thus, she would be at the mercy of her husband throughout her entire life. If evidence is produced to exonerate the woman in question, the accuser is fined a couple pounds of silver and forced to stay married until death (Deuteronomy 22:13-21). In this case, what does the man really have to lose?

Some rules following the death of a man are relevant to his wife’s well-being. According to the rules of Moses, the deceased father’s inheritance goes entirely to his sons. If he has no son, it goes to the daughters. After that, the inheritance should go to the closest male relatives (Numbers 27:8-11). Not only do the boys of the household have priority over the girls, the wife is also noticeably absent from the will. Instead, God’s law forces her to marry her husband’s brother, provided she doesn’t already have a son with her former husband. However, the brother-in-law has the right to refuse the marriage; the woman does not (Deuteronomy 25:5-9).

Menstruation is a natural occurrence in the lives of most women. However, the God of the Pentateuch despises this biologically necessary bodily process and gives instructions on how to deal with these treacherous circumstances. During menstruation, God deems the woman unclean. No one shall have any contact with her for seven days or until the bleeding stops. God deems anyone or anything she touches unclean. If she touches another person, God deems that person unclean until he bathes. In fact, the same goes for anyone who touches something that she previously touched (Leviticus 15:19-30). All this uncleanliness is resolved by needlessly killing two doves. Admittedly, there are similar laws for male ejaculation, but men can actually suppress these events to some extent.

Childbirth is another natural event that God deems foul. If a woman gives birth to a boy, she will be unclean for seven days while she undergoes the same ritual for her menstrual period. She must then be purified for thirty-three days and barred from entering worship during this time. If she produces a girl, the sentence of solitary confinement is doubled to fourteen and sixty-six days, respectively (Leviticus 12:1-5). In addition to God unfairly designating women as filthy individuals following childbirth, this passage heavily insinuates that girls are dirtier than boys because it punishes a woman more harshly for giving birth to a female child.

Woman’s Darkest Hour

Rape, the paramount fear of many women, rears its ugly head in the Bible as well. Fortunately, God ensures that the authors list it as a crime under a few circumstances. Unfortunately, God permits the sexual violation of women on more than one occasion. More unfortunately, the fine for committing one of the most heinous acts known to man without God’s permission is only a pound of silver to her father and a forced marriage to the victim if she’s not already engaged or married (Deuteronomy 22:28-29). Yes, God’s idea of justice for the female victim is to be horrendously punished again by forcing her to marry the man who savagely attacked her. This disgusting rule is nowhere near what most people would consider an ethical resolution, and it’s certainly not a decision rendered by any court I’d like to be facing.

If a man rapes an engaged virgin who doesn’t cry loud enough to draw attention, the community should consider the attack consensual if it took place within the city. Thus, the ***** must be stoned to death per God’s instructions. It obviously doesn’t matter if the woman is too scared to scream because the law makes no such exception. The man will be stoned to death as well, not because he committed a brutal atrocity against the woman, but only because he “violated another man’s wife” (Deuteronomy 22:24). Note the shamefully sharp contrast in disciplinary action between raping a woman with a husband and raping a woman without a husband: death versus a pound of silver. Since it’s all the same to the woman, it now becomes clear that God feels the husband is the one who is the victim of the attack.

As I previously mentioned, the Bible regrettably provides some situations in which rape is entirely permissible, even encouraged, by the Hebrew god. Recall the rule of marriage specifying how a man can force his daughter to marry and sleep with another man. This in itself is completely reprehensible and rises to the level of rape if the woman is unwilling, but the outlook for women only worsens as we continue our reading.

In the matter of Moses’ war victory over the Midianites, God had previously commanded him to build an army and defeat the enemy. After successful completion of this task, his army takes thousands of war prisoners. Moses then orders his army to kill the remaining men, boys, and women who have already slept with a man, “but all the women children, that have not known a man by lying with him, keep alive for yourselves” (Numbers 31:17-18). If taking a human war trophy based solely on the prisoner’s gender and sexual status isn’t implied permission to commit rape, I honestly don’t know what is. Even God receives thirty-two virgins as his share of the spoils, but they’re handed over to the priest for obvious reasons (Numbers 31:40-41).

The “women children” mentioned in the passage certainly included young girls. Some female inhabitants of the city had to have been several years away from entering puberty, but don’t pretend these barbaric savages capable of killing defenseless women thought twice about waiting a few years for the girls to mature. Well, what eventually becomes of these foreign women kidnapped in battle?

When thou goest forth to war against thine enemies, and the Lord thy God hath delivered them into thine hands, and thou hast taken them captive, And seest among the captives a beautiful woman, and hast a desire unto her, that thou wouldest have her to thy wife; Then thou shalt bring her home to thine house; and she shall shave her head, and pare her nails; And she shall put the raiment of her captivity from off her, and shall remain in thine house, and bewail her father and her mother a full month: and after that thou shalt go in unto her, and be her husband, and she shall by thy wife. And it shall be, if thou have no delight in her, then thou shalt let her go whither she will; but thou shalt not sell her at all for money, thou shalt not make merchandise of her, because thou hast humbled her. (Deuteronomy 21:10-14).

More Old Testament Atrocities

One other mistreatment by omission should come to mind upon completion of reading the Pentateuch: the failure to mention the explicit impermissibility of sexual relations between fathers and daughters. The only such instance that comes to mind is the record of Lot’s daughters getting him drunk to become pregnant by him (Genesis 19:30-38). However, the author tells the story using disturbingly tranquil commentary. Had God considered this a reprehensible act, one would assume that it would be noted in some way for its distastefulness. In fact, Moses provides a long list of people with whom we are not to have sexual contact in Leviticus 20:10-21, but noticeably absent from this list is the debauchery of a father with his daughter. We also know from previous analyses that daughters are the sole property of their fathers. Finally, we can safely assume that these father-daughter relationships existed thousands of years ago, as they secretly do now. The omission of this regulation can only lead to the conclusion that it was permissible, or at least somewhat condonable, for a father to rape his daughters.

The historical books, Joshua through Esther, begin the popular trend of multiple-wife lifestyles. Among those who have several wives and/or concubines are Gideon, Elkanah, David, Rehoboam, Abijah, and Solomon, who I believe is the winner with 700 wives and 300 concubines. Even so, divinely inspired biblical authors wholeheartedly claim that God looks upon these men favorably. Would we expect God to view these individuals in a positive light if this lifestyle was displeasing to the almighty?

We find several more cruelties perpetrated against women in these historical books. Such atrocities include a woman given away as a prize (Judges 1:12-13); a woman offered as a sacrifice (Judges 11:29-39); married daughters given to other people (Judges 15:2); rape, murder, and mutilation by a mob; (Judges 19:22-30); abduction of virgins (Judges 21:7-23); purchasing of wives (Ruth 4:10 and 1 Samuel 18:25-27); and God punishing David by allowing his son to sleep with his wives and concubines, an act for which the women were later imprisoned (2 Samuel 12:11-12, 16:22, 20:3).

If you read the book of Proverbs, you will find more sayings than I care to list that reiterate how women can be evil, strange, adulterous, foolish, contentious, etc. The book concludes with an observation on the rarity of a virtuous woman. According to the author, if you find one such woman, she’s worth far more than rubies (Proverbs 31:10). Enlightened readers, on the other hand, should quickly realize that all humans are more valuable than material possessions, regardless of their sex, color, or creed.

The books of prophecy, Isaiah through Malachi, have the most vivid images of God tormenting women. Some examples of God’s actions not previously covered include the giving away of people’s wives (Jeremiah 8:10), justifying a woman being raped (Jeremiah 13:22), making men “become as women” (Jeremiah 50:37), denouncing menstruation (Ezekiel 18:6), telling Hosea to acquire a wife that he knew would be purchased (Hosea 3:1-2), aborting children in their mothers’ wombs (Hosea 9:11-12 and 13:16), ridiculing an army by labeling them women (Nahum 3:13), and taking part in a war concluding with women being raped (Zechariah 11:4). Again, I don’t feel there’s any reason to worry over such matters because none of this will ever happen due to direct intervention by the fictitious version of God depicted in the Old Testament.

New Testament Atrocities

The outlook doesn’t substantially improve for women in the New Testament either. The author of Ephesians insists that wives should submit to their husbands in everything (5:22-24). While it’s true that the author later instructs men to love their wives and treat them well, what does a devout Christian woman do when her husband decides to break the bounds of his instructions by asking her to embrace something she knows is evil? Remember, the woman has no right to divorce the man. In addition, the author fails to mention the existence of any out clause for her in such a situation. It would appear as though she has no choice but to comply with his orders if she is to obey the words in the scripture.

The authors of Colossians, Titus, and 1 Peter all agree that women should submit to their husbands (3:18, 2:5, and 3:1, respectively). The books of Peter also forbid women to wear any type of decorative jewelry to adorn their bodies (1 Peter 3:2-6), refer to women as the weaker vessel of the couple (1 Peter 3:7), and deem Lot to be a righteous man even though he once offered his daughters as a suitable alternative for homosexual rapists surrounding his house (2 Peter 2:8 referring to Genesis 19:4-8). A man with the immoral qualities of Lot cannot be regarded as righteous unless you discount the inherent rights of all people, more specifically, the inherent rights of women.

The author of Timothy also follows suit with his bigoted opinions of women. Like Peter, he says that females shouldn’t wear decoration or try to usurp authority over their husbands. Instead, women should remain silent and fully submissive to them. As he also declares that Adam was not the one who was deceived in the Garden of Eden, Eve is clearly the party implicated as being responsible for the downfall of man (1 Timothy 2:9-15). This author isn’t particularly kind to widows either. He says we should leave these women in need because their rewards will arrive as an answer to prayer. A widow experiencing pleasure while she’s still alive, on the other hand, is already dead in the afterlife. In the author’s eyes, the only respectable widows are at least sixty years old, have had only one husband, and have been well known for their positive accomplishments in life. In contrast, younger widows aren’t worth assisting because they eventually remarry, become idle, or venture from house to house with their gossip (1 Timothy 5:5-15).

As we discussed near the beginning of this book, Paul is no doubt the single most important figure in getting Christianity to where it is today. Unfortunately, he is also one of the most sexist people you’ll find in the New Testament. Paul is very adamant in his belief that women aren’t useful for much more than sexually satisfying their husbands. He even remarks that it’s good for a man to refrain from touching a woman, but he realizes the need for a man to have sexual contact and permits each to have a wife (1 Corinthians 7:1-2).

Paul also tells a story in his letter to the Romans about men “leaving the ‘natural use’ of the woman” to have sexual relations with other men (Romans 1:27). The passage is more or less saying that the natural use of a woman is to function as a derogatory sexual outlet for a man. He continues to spread his bigoted beliefs in a letter to the Corinthians by unambiguously declaring the man to be the head of the woman, similar to the way that Jesus is the authority figure for men. Paul also says women, who are the glory of men, were made for men, who are the glory of God (1 Corinthians 11:3-9). The clearly implied chain of importance goes Christ first, man second, and woman last.

Paul also establishes a few ground rules before the men can bring their women to church. The women are to choose between concealing their heads and having their hair completely shaven. Later, Paul takes away the latter choice by declaring a shaved head to be a disgrace in need of covering (1 Corinthians 11:5-7). He also doesn’t permit women to speak in church because that also is a shame. If they have a question concerning the material, they must ask their husbands at home. Paul also reminds us once again, “they are commanded to be under obedience” according to the law (1 Corinthians 14:34-35). If you ever attend a Southern Baptist church, you will notice that its members tend to remain clung to these values in some fashion. Unfortunately, some ultra-conservative members continue to take these biblical guidelines into their homes.

Are Women Equal To Men?

Dozens more examples of cruelty to women exist throughout the Bible, but I feel this will be sufficient in making my case. Women had suffered terribly for thousands of years because of what men, not any god, wrote in the Bible. To some extent, women still endure coarse treatment stemming from their own religious beliefs and those observed by their husbands. I hope you realize that the authors of the Pentateuch were not divinely inspired to write declarations of women as the sole property of men. Instead, the books should once again read as though some group is depending upon the gullibility of the people to serve their own desires. In essence, the Old Testament authors misled the New Testament authors into believing that they actually recorded the “wonderful” and “loving” God’s authentic orders. Not knowing any other society than the one in which they were raised, the New Testament authors felt compelled to endorse these regulations.

Many Christians continue to adhere to these cruel, senseless, and morally bankrupt codes, but most have illogically reasoned their way out of following God’s eternal commands. Many Christians have declared that the Old Testament regulations died when Jesus arrived, but three key verses can once again tell us that this simply isn’t a valid deduction. “Think not that I am come to destroy the law, or the prophets: I am not come to destroy, but to fulfil” (Matthew 5:7). “For verily I say unto you, Till heaven and earth pass, one jot or one tittle shall in no wise pass from the law, till all be fulfilled” (Matthew 5:18). “And it is easier for heaven and earth to pass, than one tittle of the law to fail” (Luke 16:17). Furthermore, as the New Testament instructions postdate Jesus’ life, the failed suggestion doesn’t even attempt to resolve the problems created by New Testament authors. Even if we allow the repeal of these old traditions, does this act justify centuries of biblical oppression? For the reasons presented in this chapter, I urge all men to use their intrinsic common decency, not the Bible, when deciding how to treat a woman.

Rape In The Bible

Rape is one of the most heinous crimes imaginable. Yet few people know that the Bible often condones and even approves of rape. How anyone can get their moral guidance from a book that allows rape escapes me. Perhaps they have been lied to about the Bible and carefully detoured around all the nasty stuff in the Bible.

So grab your Bibles and follow along as I show you all the nasty rapes that your priests and preachers don't want to tell you about. Note that in many places in the Bible there are references to "taking a wife". Don't be fooled into thinking that these were voluntary marriages. This first quote clearly shows that murder and force were used to "take" these wives.

1) Murder, rape, and pillage at Jabesh-gilead (Judges 21:10-24 NLT)

So they sent twelve thousand warriors to Jabesh-gilead with orders to kill everyone there, including women and children. "This is what you are to do," they said. "Completely destroy all the males and every woman who is not a virgin." Among the residents of Jabesh-gilead they found four hundred young virgins who had never slept with a man, and they brought them to the camp at Shiloh in the land of Canaan.

The Israelite assembly sent a peace delegation to the little remnant of Benjamin who were living at the rock of Rimmon. Then the men of Benjamin returned to their homes, and the four hundred women of Jabesh-gilead who were spared were given to them as wives. But there were not enough women for all of them. The people felt sorry for Benjamin because the LORD had left this gap in the tribes of Israel. So the Israelite leaders asked, "How can we find wives for the few who remain, since all the women of the tribe of Benjamin are dead? There must be heirs for the survivors so that an entire tribe of Israel will not be lost forever. But we cannot give them our own daughters in marriage because we have sworn with a solemn oath that anyone who does this will fall under God's curse."

Then they thought of the annual festival of the LORD held in Shiloh, between Lebonah and Bethel, along the east side of the road that goes from Bethel to Shechem. They told the men of Benjamin who still needed wives, "Go and hide in the vineyards. When the women of Shiloh come out for their dances, rush out from the vineyards, and each of you can take one of them home to be your wife! And when their fathers and brothers come to us in protest, we will tell them, 'Please be understanding. Let them have your daughters, for we didn't find enough wives for them when we destroyed Jabesh-gilead. And you are not guilty of breaking the vow since you did not give your daughters in marriage to them.'" So the men of Benjamin did as they were told. They kidnapped the women who took part in the celebration and carried them off to the land of their own inheritance. Then they rebuilt their towns and lived in them. So the assembly of Israel departed by tribes and families, and they returned to their own homes.

Obviously these women were repeatedly raped. These sick bastards killed and raped an entire town and then wanted more virgins, so they hid beside the road to kidnap and rape some more. How can anyone see this as anything but evil?

2) Murder, rape and pillage of the Midianites (Numbers 31:7-18 NLT)

They attacked Midian just as the LORD had commanded Moses, and they killed all the men. All five of the Midianite kings – Evi, Rekem, Zur, Hur, and Reba – died in the battle. They also killed Balaam son of Beor with the sword. Then the Israelite army captured the Midianite women and children and seized their cattle and flocks and all their wealth as plunder. They burned all the towns and villages where the Midianites had lived. After they had gathered the plunder and captives, both people and animals, they brought them all to Moses and Eleazar the priest, and to the whole community of Israel, which was camped on the plains of Moab beside the Jordan River, across from Jericho.

Moses, Eleazar the priest, and all the leaders of the people went to meet them outside the camp. But Moses was furious with all the military commanders who had returned from the battle. "Why have you let all the women live?" he demanded. "These are the very ones who followed Balaam's advice and caused the people of Israel to rebel against the LORD at Mount Peor. They are the ones who caused the plague to strike the LORD's people. Now kill all the boys and all the women who have slept with a man. Only the young girls who are virgins may live; you may keep them for yourselves.

Clearly Moses and God approves of rape of virgins.

3) More Murder Rape and Pillage (Deuteronomy 20:10-14)

As you approach a town to attack it, first offer its people terms for peace. If they accept your terms and open the gates to you, then all the people inside will serve you in forced labor. But if they refuse to make peace and prepare to fight, you must attack the town. When the LORD your God hands it over to you, kill every man in the town. But you may keep for yourselves all the women, children, livestock, and other plunder. You may enjoy the spoils of your enemies that the LORD your God has given you.

What kind of God approves of murder, rape, and slavery?

4) Laws of Rape (Deuteronomy 22:28-29 NLT)

If a man is caught in the act of raping a young woman who is not engaged, he must pay fifty pieces of silver to her father. Then he must marry the young woman because he violated her, and he will never be allowed to divorce her.

What kind of lunatic would make a rape victim marry her attacker? Answer: God.

5) Death to the Rape Victim (Deuteronomy 22:23-24 NAB)

If within the city a man comes upon a maiden who is betrothed, and has relations with her, you shall bring them both out of the gate of the city and there stone them to death: the girl because she did not cry out for help though she was in the city, and the man because he violated his neighbors wife.

It is clear that God doesn't give a damn about the rape victim. He is only concerned about the violation of another mans "property".

6) David's Punishment - Polygamy, Rape, Baby Killing, and God's "Forgiveness" (2 Samuel 12:11-14 NAB)

Thus says the Lord: 'I will bring evil upon you out of your own house. I will take your wives [plural] while you live to see it, and will give them to your neighbor. He shall lie with your wives in broad daylight. You have done this deed in secret, but I will bring it about in the presence of all Israel, and with the sun looking down.'

Then David said to Nathan, "I have sinned against the Lord." Nathan answered David: "The Lord on his part has forgiven your sin: you shall not die. But since you have utterly spurned the Lord by this deed, the child born to you must surely die." [The child dies seven days later.]

This has got to be one of the sickest quotes of the Bible. God himself brings the completely innocent rape victims to the rapist. What kind of pathetic loser would do something so evil? And then he kills a child! This is sick, really sick!

7) Rape of Female Captives (Deuteronomy 21:10-14 NAB)

"When you go out to war against your enemies and the LORD, your God, delivers them into your hand, so that you take captives, if you see a comely woman among the captives and become so enamored of her that you wish to have her as wife, you may take her home to your house. But before she may live there, she must shave her head and pare her nails and lay aside her captive's garb. After she has mourned her father and mother for a full month, you may have relations with her, and you shall be her husband and she shall be your wife. However, if later on you lose your liking for her, you shall give her her freedom, if she wishes it; but you shall not sell her or enslave her, since she was married to you under compulsion."

Once again God approves of forcible rape.

8) Rape and the Spoils of War (Judges 5:30 NAB)

They must be dividing the spoils they took: there must be a damsel or two for each man, Spoils of dyed cloth as Sisera's spoil, an ornate shawl or two for me in the spoil. (Judges 5:30 NAB)

9) Sex Slaves (Exodus 21:7-11 NLT)

10) God Assists Rape and Plunder (Zechariah 14:1-2 NAB)

Lo, a day shall come for the Lord when the spoils shall be divided in your midst. And I will gather all the nations against Jerusalem for battle: the city shall be taken, houses plundered, women ravished; half of the city shall go into exile, but the rest of the people shall not be removed from the city. (Zechariah 14:1-2 NAB)

What Would Jesus Do?

Advocate child abuse and murder amongst many other cruelties.

Christians are always claiming, “he’s the lamb”, “our savior”, “the king of peace”, “the embodiment of love”, amongst the many other names they associate with a loving, merciful nature. Jesus a nice guy? Not in my book. Nor in any other person’s who is capable of compassion and rationality. Let’s examine who the hell the Jesus character really is. These verses will show not only is Jesus’ “loving” nature a joke but so are the Christians who worship him. Jesus’ real mission to come to earth:

Jesus says that he has come to destroy families by making family members hate each other. He has “come not to send peace, but a sword.” Matthew 10:34

Jesus says, “Don’t imagine that I came to bring peace on earth! No, rather a sword lf you love your father, mother, sister, brother, more than me, you are not worthy of being mine. “The real beauty of this verse is that Jesus demands people truly love him more then they love their own family. I ask you how can we love someone that we can not see or interact with? Love is an emotion pertaining to physical existence not to faithful ideologies, yet God threatens you with Death just because your love for your mother maybe stronger than your love for him. Matthew 10:34

Families will be torn apart because of Jesus. “Brother shall deliver up the brother to death, and the father the child: and the children shall rise up against their parents, and cause them to be put to death." Matthew 10:21

Jesus strongly approves of the law and the prophets. He hasn’t the slightest objection to the cruelties of the Old Testament. Matthew 5:17

Jesus advocates murder and death:

Jesus condemns entire cities to dreadful deaths and to the eternal torment of hell because they didn’t care for his preaching. Matthew 11:20

Jesus, whose clothes are dipped in blood, has a sharp sword sticking out of his mouth. Thus attired, he treads the winepress of the wrath of God. (The winepress is the actual press that humans shall be put into so that we may be ground up.) Revelations 19:13-15

The beast and the false prophet are cast alive into a lake of fire. The rest of us the unchosen will be killed with the sword of Jesus. “An all the fowls were filled with their flesh.” Revelations 19:20-21

Jesus says he is the only way to salvation yet he purposely disillusions us so that we will go to hell:

Jesus explains that the reason he speaks in parables is so that no one will understand him, “lest . . . they . . . should understand . . . and should be converted, and I should heal them.” Matthew 13:10-15

Jesus explains why he speaks in parables to confuse people so they will go to hell. Mark 4:11-12

Jesus advocates child abuse:

Jesus is criticized by the Pharisees for not washing his hands before eating. He defends himself by attacking them for not killing disobedient children according to the commandment: “He that curseth father or mother, let him die the death.” Matthew 15:4-7

Abandon your wife and children for Jesus and he’ll give your a big reward. Jesus asks that his followers abandon their children to follow him. To leave your child is abuse, it’s called neglect, pure and simple. Matthew 19:29

Jesus criticizes the Jews for not killing their disobedient children according to Old Testament law. Mark 7:9

A few other things about Jesus:

Jesus says that those who have been less fortunate in this life will have it even worse in the life to come. Mark 4:25

Jesus sends the devils into 2000 pigs, causing them to jump off a cliff and be drowned in the sea. Clearly Jesus could have simply sent the devils out, yet he chose instead to place them into pigs and kill them. This is called animal abuse. Mark 5:12-13

Jesus kills a fig tree for not bearing figs, even though it was out of season. Jesus must not be as smart as Christians would have us believe, for he was retarded enough to do something this silly. You’d think the son of god (god incarnate) would know that trees don’t bear fruit in dry season. Mark 11:13

Luke 12:47 Jesus okays beating slaves.

WOW ...... Well now I feel I was not agressive at all :) I am with you, in that I do not like to get riled up or hammer at someones beliefs, but this DINAR forun has been used repeatedly and I mean repeatedly to attack gays and lesbians and to make us feel inferior. Contrary to what most on this forum may believe, I do have a strong Christian faith from a strong Christian upbringing. I have just learned to question as the Bible tells me to do. I have learned not to blindly follow anyone, be it religious leaders or the *** community. I seek and I decide for myself and hope and trust to have gotten it right. I am blessed to be loved by such a variety of people but I am often the odd guy out in that I am a *** Republican leaning man of faith and conviction. Now, granted it is not what I have been told to believe but rather what I have learned to believe through my own struggles in life. I normally am not a "join the movement" type of person but rather a "live by example" person and that is why I have very few problems in life with anyone. People do not have to agree with me and I respect that. I sure as hell do not condemn them or right them off. This forum has been used repeadly to call Gays dissease spreaders, lovers of pedophilia and beastiality, etc. I get tired of sitting back listening to sheer ignorance spouted off. The vile that comes from so many is used as much as an agenda as any agenda of the *** community. Many Christians should be immensely ashamed by the sheer numbers of children abandoned, on the streets, or dead by their own hand because of the Christian faith that they have been repeatedly beat with. I stand by that *** and Lesbians would be no worse parents (most likely better) than straight parents because we know how to love unconditionaly. You will be hard pressed to find children of gays and lesbians who will kill themselves because they are different. Live and let live people .... love and let love. I am not at all trying to lead anyone away from the Christian faith .. I was raised in it by two of the most loving Christian people I know (my mom and dad). My mother and brother embrace me 100% and my father (RIP) and sister do/did not agree with the lifestyle but still love me unconditionaly and welcome me and my friends into their homes and hearts. Their committment to their faith coupled with the fact that they still love and live by example is what I hold out hope for in more Christians. Unfortunately, the majority do live such a judgemental life. Let your light (faith) shine people like a steadly candle glow not like a raging forest fire that destroys everything in its path. MAN!
