Iraqi 2012 budget within days - Maliki says

BAGHDAD / Aswat al-Iraq: Premier Nouri al-Maliki announced today that the 2012 budget will be completed within coming days to be sent to the parliament for endorsement.

In a statement by his office, copy received by Aswat al-Iraq, he added that the percentage of investment allocations shall be 30% of the budge.

Premier Maliki pointed out that countries like Germany, Korea and Japan will work on deferred payment.

Having the NEW budget sounds like VERY good news!

It wouldn't take much to imagine that it is already based upon the new value of the Dinar. IF you were to believe that you could further support the view that RI/RV is immanent, (as in next week?)?

Am I wrong in thinking that if the rv was imminent, the rate would show up in the budget?

So thus the budget can't be published (with the rv evident in it) until it has actually revalued.

Like I said, correct me if I am wrong in my thinking.

DinarBot Notes you are correct; Possibly. If the Budget is formulated using/quoting USD equivalents then NO. If not it will have to be sent back to Parliament for adjustments after a significant rate change. 10 Billion IQD at 1170:1 is a far cry in value from 10 billion IQD at 1:1. Interesting Times.
