Thank you Adam. I am so pleased to see a charity listed in the option which helps address the mental health of the troops :D. All these charities deserve some form of support. But , as you are possibly aware mental illness and addiction issues are my passion. Unfortunately, physical health needs, mental illness and yes, even addiction issues are all multi-directional. So my vote went to pennies from heaven. Pet therapy can be amazing to watch in action when a wet nose gets a reaction that human beings can't reach because the person has reached the black depths of mental illness. Hence why when I go to "Holybush" on my days off....the dogs go to. Thank you for brightening my day. :D.

Adam,

There is a fairly new charity founded here in NE Fl. called K9's For Warriors. They train service dogs for our vets that need them.

My wife and I have seed how much these dogs help the soldiers. Please go to thier web site and check it out. Hopefully you can add this to

your list to be voted for.

Hi Adam,

Have you also considered HirePatriots.com a program setup by a non-profit organization Patriotic Hearts from San Diego? it was started because of many unemployed Marines after multiple deployments and transitioning from active duty to civilian life. It's a one day job board posting for temporarily employment and engages the community to support businesses to hire our veterans and retiring servicemembers. Unemployment is now up for Veterans of all military branches 14.1 % as of today vs. the civilian sector of 9.1%. It has been reported that 70,000 military service members will be transitioning out of the military this summer with no jobs lined up yet. Suicides, PTSD & TBI , unemployment, divorces , homelessness is exponentially increasing and it's not going to get any better until we educate the community that this will impact local communities that have some level of connection with our veterans.

I am a professional life coach specializing in helping these veterans transition back to civilian life and it is an uphill battle and it will take a village to take care of them. I'm very passionate about this because I'm a daughter of a retired veteran, sister of a brother in the army that went through 3 tours of duty in Iraq, and I have a son who is a Navy Corpsman that was just deployed last week with the Marines from Camp Pendleton to Afghanistan. So there is a lot of skin in the game for me in terms of these Veterans and they deserve more than just saying Thank you and then just walk away, there needs to be action put behind those words. They don't want hand outs but a hand up from all of us. Food for thought.

Hello, Community!

Every year about this time, I take some time to evaluate my finances and figure out how much I can afford to give to help others out.

This year, I want to do something a little different... I think this will do much more than any check I could personally write!

Every day, this site is viewed by 10's of thousands of people, and obviously the ads generate some revenue. I then use that revenue to pay for the site, upgrades, maintenance, etc.... well, from Monday November 14 until the end of the year I am going to give 25% of the ad space to 4 charities of your choosing. Since this site is dedicated to the Iraqi Dinar, I have chosen to keep the options focused on organizations that serve our troops, both active and otherwise.

I posted a thread asking what charities the community would like to see helped, and these are the ones that were suggested. I don't prefer any one over another, and I am not biased on any of them. I don't get a tax write off for this, nor any other benefit..... this is something I am doing because I believe all of us together have the power to make positive things happen, and we should thank those men and women that give us the freedom to do things like speculate on a foreign currency.

This my way of saying "Thank You" to our amazing heroes.

:tiphat:

Please review the following options, then vote in the poll above.

They have vans that transport Vets to the VA doctors and hospitals. They also represent Vets with disabilities to the VA. They are so overwhelmed & cannot handle all of the disabled Vets. A sizable contribution could buy another van, more case workers- for better representation, or a volunteer at the VA hospital etc.

Well, since all my stammering in regards to the SPCA didn't help them to make the cut ... hahahahahaha ... I have voted for the "HEAL" ... service dogs ... they do a fantastic job with depressed people, and those injured who need physical help in a variety of ways.

I see by the results so far that my choice isn't that popular but I hope that perhaps some people will read the comments first and perhaps reconsider and vote for the service dogs ... they really do a fantastic job. I have seen it first hand and donated enough to finance the training of three dogs here in Canada for this very purpose. It is a terrific feeling to know how much these animals bring to the depressed and wounded, and their families, if they have them. Often they don't and the dog becomes that too .. a family member. Please, please reconsider and if you haven't cast your vote yet check out their site.

Thanks

Oh, and Adam ... thanks so much for doing this. I know you have a good heart and that is huge. But you have also given us a list of places we can put some of our dinar profits when the RV has happened and we are in need of some place to donate because we are so overwhelmed we need to reach out and help others. It is part of what makes the world go round ... giving.

:)

My personal on-going year-long contribution to our armed forces is that whenever I am at a 'fast-food' eatery or a 'sit-down' restaurant and there are armed services people present dining in uniform, I secretly pay for their meals. I don't want to embarrass them or get thanks...it just makes me feel good!

Adam,

You had so many great ones listed it was very difficult to choose. Having been invovled with hospice this was one service that was provided. I can honestly say that this service means a lot not only to the individual but to the family as well. It is one less worry. Thank you for all you do. Nothing but good wishes to you and yours.

Wounded Warriors...most of us may never realize how deep those wounds can go. I am so proud, right now, to see the current results of this pole. I am almost as proud of the DV members voting as I am of those soldiers who were mortally wounded and...of their friends and fellow soldiers who still live and struggle with the memories.

God bless
