BANKS GETTING READY

The Eagle

Hey All~

I just want to clear the air about some of the bank rumors that I've been reading. First off.. I've worked in the banking system for about 5 years now at the same bank (Bank of the West) in Colorado. I worked as a Teller (csr), Financial Service Rep (FSR) and also as a Financial Service Consultant (FSC). I'm very close to my Branch Manager and Invest Rep. I can assure you I know a few things about the banking system.

1: I would not consider Bank of the West as big as Wells Fargo, or JP Morgan Chase

I can assure you the following:

1A: Bank Teller as you guys call them (CSR) are NOT notified of an upcoming change in currency, Neither are FSR, FSC, Branch Manger or Invest Rep. I'm still in constant contact with my Branch Manger and Invest Rep and the only information they know.. has been from this site or another site.

2: They would have to know that to be prepared for the onslaught that’s coming.. Maybe true, but a bank will handle a currency exchange in the following manner:

1. When people would come in to exchange Euro for USD (example) We would take the euro go over to our computer check to see the exchange rate and inform the client. From there we would take the euro and send it down to our exchange department who would then credit the clients account within 2-3 day's. My point in saying this is a bank does not really need to be (prepared for an onslaught) because the bank would not exchange the currency on demand. So exchanging Euro for USD would be the same process as exchanging IQD for USD. Yes, maybe the line for getting service would be around the block down the street and start at grandma's house, but the process to exchange the currency would stay the same.

I hope you take this information as just information from my personal experience and knowledge (5 years banking experience), but I wanted to clear some banking rumors I keep hearing.

Swiss Codes have been sent to all banks & currency exchangers around the globe. This alone is a major step forward in standardizing the money changing procedures, updating daily rates & readiness of all the global currency RVs.

"get ready" for the revaluation of multiple currencies....... Lets not get excited yet, he said multiple currencies. Did he say Iraq Currency???? NO, But lets hope the Iraq currency is involved.:lol:

Right... When it's a multiple currencies revaluation taking place at once that usually results in minor adjustments only....Not really a RV as such....So I don't think that's our thing... I might be wrong of course......

Thanks for sharing..

How exactly do they "get ready"?

Calculator calisthenics?

Payroll pushups?

Jihad jumping jacks?

Seems all they do is run in place anyway......

LOL ... Ya ... seemed credible until the "get ready" comment - I mean really, "get ready" ? During a currency transaction the teller takes your order, refers to that days rate and gives you the appropriate amount back - currency rates change every day so they have to "be ready" every day. This thread is just plain silly.

"Swiss"? Perhaps you mean SWIFT, and such codes have nothing to do with an RV, they are just the international ID for financial institutions and the banks in Iraq has been assigned such codes for years. Unless of course you are speaking of the upcoming change to the hole size in swiss cheese.

This is not a rumor. I have been in touch with my WF branch manager for months regarding the RV. Every time his response was "I've heard nothing yet". This morning I went to WF to cash a check the branch manager called me over to tell me that they have been allerted to "get ready" for the revaluation of multiple currencies. I reminded him to call me when it happens and he replied that I was to be his first call. BTW, the manager and both loan officers are Dinarians..... I wonder how many hours after the RV before they quit and go off to a better life...

Come on RV

Not to throw out a negative Eagle but I did a little research myself. I called the Wells Fargo on 74 river st. Santa Cruz, CA, 95060 (831) 469-3525

Quote from the financial manager who handles currency exchanges. "we currently do not sell dinar to our customers and we do not see in the near future handling any dinar currency exchanges". Now she did say that was just her bank and was not sure about other banks or branches. Shoot.......

"Swiss Codes" ... you're joking right ? What has Switzerland have to do with any of this ... LOL And "Swift Codes" were provided to banks years ago from Iraq.

This would make a great RUMOR, eagle. . . .but unfortunately the largest designated Foreign Currency Exchange Branch of Wells Fargo Bank for the MID CITIES of the Dallas/Ft Worth Texas area Senior Bank Manager knows NOTHING WHATSOEVER OF SUCH a rumor, as of 3:00PM this afternoon!
