Allawi gives up the post of President of the National Council for strategic policy in Iraq, the Supreme ..

this could also be the calm before the storm. if he is giving up on the Erbil it may very well be that he sees no way around the maliki stalemate and it's time to move into "no confidence vote" mode. this is admitting that the agreements have failed and it's time to either remove maliki or reconstruct a new GOI. allawi's only hope is the kurds. but if maliki appeases them (the kurds) and just gives them what they want then allawi is isolated and does not have enough support to win a no confidence vote and this just goes on and on. that's a no win situation for him and then it becomes "what's the point"?

on another note... if allawi walks away and maliki's power is solidified and his strangle hold on the country becomes reality then i wonder if shabibi is going to rv and give maliki control, as a dictator, all of that money AT ALL? not trying to negative just wondering out loud. JMO...

This seems to be another re-run! It is not the first time Allawi has done this. I am sure that he is not done, just manuevering to find another way! He is a very sharp politician, and I really don't think that he is giving up!

Just another episode of "As Iraq Turns"

Go RV!!!
