First and foremost...not a newbie but rather a long time lurker..

It seems to me that a great many people are starting to claim they got into this for the long haul and an RV at this rate or that rate would be acceptable and it will happen when it happens etc...

Curiously this claim coincides with the significant increase in Guru bashing...

Now,feeling comfortable that the Gurus have been sufficiently exposed for their obvious lack of real intel and/or their separate agendas I'm curious as to the answers to two simple questions.

1st... Is there anyone, other than I,willing to admit that they jumped into this head first after getting an inside tip from either a friend, family member,co-worker,barber,plumber etc. and did so because they were told they could turn $500.00 into a million, gazillion or more when it RV's next Monday?

Come on folks..stand up and be counted..You have my solemn promise not to tell anyone YOU may have dragged into this after an exciting Okie conference call..

2nd....Does anyone,who doesn't require adult supervision,still believe this?

Plus me..Neg me..but give me credit for honesty and for not having dragged religion into my post.

Yep I did with both feet and yep i still do think this will be a good investment at some point, worth millions maybe!! but probably not. But i do think it is safer than what is going on in our own back yard ie.... Wall Street

Guilty as charged go ahead and throw the Dinar at me.

I invested in hopes if an RV and an easier life, but to be honest, I really didn't have any extra money to put out. My decision was made on the fact that someone did tell me about it, and after prayerful consideration, I decided that if I heard that there had been the major RV, and I had not put a little money into it, I would feel worse, than losing the money I did put in. So, what I think everyone needs to do is decide if you had not made the investment, then heard that the RV had happened, would that make you feel worse than losing what you have invested?

it is a cheap gamble with extraordinarly low entry fees.....why wouldn't ya???? i can waste way more money in vegas on the dice table than i have in this....

I'll take that as a yes to question 1 and add that I agree wholeheartedly...

Unclear as to your position on question 2 but suspect that you didn't really believe it but jumped in,as I did, with a "what the heck do I have to lose attitude"

yes, absolutely fell into the "tomorrow will be too late" trap

Once actually doing the research, do I think the investment will make money? Absolutely! Millions? Probably not. Gonna tell you a lil story though......

I work in a tax office. This time of year I am all alone......NO ONE comes in here. A few weeks ago, the fire marshalls came to inspect us. One of them said "Quiet in here" I said "Yep, we didn't really need the inspection, I was just lonely".

Same basic principle applies here. Not even paying much attention to the whens and hows of this investment any more. It will eventually do SOMETHING, but reading and responding to these boards have given me more entertainment than I have had in a LONG time! Thanks guys!!

I got into this expecting it to RV at some time in the future, whether that be next week or next year. It was money I would've spent anyway on beer, golf or both. I was also expecting a chain of events becuase I knew Iraq wasn't in the position they needed to be in order to RV, but what I wasn't expecting is how this "investment" is treated like a joke with all the rumors, lies and down right deceit from pumpers and so-called gurus.

With many things in life............I'll just have to take the good with the bad and deal with it.

If it ever RV's...........great! If not.........then my dinars will make for some colorful cig's.

lol

I was more like John Kerry when I voted no before I voted yes. My closest friends all jumped in, and considering the rate vs risk ratio, I didn’t want to get left behind. I put the heat on my family members who also bought in, so when it happens, we all can bless and be blessed.

Count me in as one who was told of this by a family member. I figured it was a gamble like any other investment (401K for instance). I could have went to the casino and lost my money a whole lot quicker than holding on to the dinar. I to believe that it will RV but anything over my investment is gravy!

Good honest answer....the problem I have is the folks who didn't have that "vegas" money but were pulled in by the hype.

If people were dumb enough to invest more than they could afford and hope for a dream they need to sell the dinar back and keep what they can afford....I got mine 6 years ago and have made money, but will hang on until the end....

I AGREE! I hear people talking about people who are losing their homes! Sell the Dinar for rent money!!

I only invested what I would be comfortable with. Holding on to any currency has some value so don't feel that it's a loss, just long term investment. The economy has changed for people who have been laid-off and I hope they had to good sense to use their dinar to cash it in for what they could get instead of loosing a home. But you can lead some horses to water but you can't make him drink,

Yes Sir, Same here. I have had for two years locked away in a safe deposit box $13,000 worth of colorful toilet paper. I inquired on selling it back and was told $880 per million. I guess I will hang on to it and hope to at least break even in the end.

Well, aren't you good, Oh, Great Master!!! Way to go, Oh, Wise One!! LOL (Just teasing you because you sounded so "rightous.")

I had just sold my house and paid off all my bills, so when my sister called and told me about the dinar, I spent rest of the money from my house sale to buy dinar. I was also one of those who believed it would RV in a month or less, and that was a year ago last July. And I think now that it will RV before the end of this year, too. For what it's worth, if I hadn't bought this dinar, I would most likely have frittered that money away on my grandchildren since I live with them right now. Also at that time, I had health issues that worried both my daughter and me very much, but now I am not only incredibly better; I'm completely over the problem. During that dark time, if I hadn't believed in the RV, I would have had very little to give me hope. Luckily all of that has changed now, so if the dinar hasn't RV'd by the end of the year, I'm going to adjunct teach at a university in a nearby town, and I'll also work on building an online business. I no longer have any reason to just keep waiting when I do have other choices. On the other hand, until there is absolutely no chance at all that the dinar will RV ever within my lifetime (and for a few months after) , I'll just keep believing, thank you very much!!!

Your fire inspection story makes you sound like the Maytag repairman. lol

I understand, but I don't have a problem with anyone else doing whatever they feel is best with their own money, hype or not. I'm doing what I feel is right with mine, and it is still their choice. At least that's how I feel about it.

OMG! You're right! I hadn't looked at it that way! Thanks! For 6 months out of the year, my life is pathetic....

But I am much better looking than the Maytag repairman! (IMO)

My Pastor's wife told me about this end of June, this year, as we are close friends. So I have just been buying a note here and there

off E-Bay and hoping for the best someday! I am one who can not afford to buy a million at a time like most of you all are! It's been something else to see all the stories that the guru's come up with and I couldn't imagine seeing all that stuff for years like some of you have....Have a great day! :)

I'm guilty. I bought the hype. But, at least I sold the reality. Wish I could talk more people into the virtue of selling. Unfortunately, as long as most people think there is even a remote chance of an RV, they will continue to hold. It's very hard for people to give up all hope. That's the purpose of the "gurus" and their ridiculous daily rumors now. It gives them some shred of thought in the back of their minds that maybe, just maybe, there is something to this. Their real goal is to separate us from our dollars for as long as possible.

I've had some dinar since 2004-2005. Brought it back with me as a "momento" of my tour there. Came back so I could tell everyone I was an Iraqi millonairre. Then I was told about 6 months ago by co-workers that it looked like it was getting ready to RV. OK - so I dug around and found it...and figured what the heck, I got some more! So in effect, I guess I have to say "yes" to question 1.

and I'm going to say Yes to #2. It sounds like we have movement - and I've had it this long, what the heck!

Thinking I was too vague with question 2....a great many replies indicate people still believe in an RV even after admitting they jumped in without thinking it through..

Truth be told I believe as well that it will eventually RV at a value which reflects the actual situation in Iraq and should have qualified the question by asking how many still believe in the overnight millionaire scenario..

BTW...Noticed how you were trashed yesterday in a Steve thread....I apologize for those not big enough to do it themselves..

I got into this because it IS a good investment..I hear the negs and I ignore them..I know we will have an RV..When I want? Maybe not, but it will happen..I am in this for the long haul.. Was NOT influenced by anyone..I make my own choices.. I invested what I can afford to and that's the bottom line because Priscilla in Louisiana said so!!wink.gif

I was told about this by my girlfriends father. Being a veteran I did a lot of research before dumping some hard earned cash into this. The natural resources, The United states don't give up attitude toward Iraq. Why else would we of went in there besides to overthrow a dictator. You know they wouldn't of done this if we weren't getting anything out of this in return. JMO

Got tipped off by couple vets back from Iraq. Since I have carried the US dollar in my pocket since I was big enough to have a pocket(long time ago) and watched that same dollar buy less and less every year, figured I didn't have much to loose. Always been some what of a gambler anyway. Lost some money along the way. That's life. Be nice if it happens, but, if it don't, I can still get some of my money back. And it has been a little bit of an education for my grandkids. They like to talk about it and are completely fascinated with the currency. In that respect, it has been worth what I paid for it.
