Morning Examiner: Obama WH drowning in scandal

Drip. Drip. Drip. Whether it is Solyndra, Obamacare, or Fast and Furious,

President Obama’s push for his “American Jobs Act” has been drowned out this week by the failure of his past policies.

Every night it seems there is a new angle on the Energy Department’s failed loan to the bankrupt solar panel manufacturer Solyndra.

Not only was there a headline-grabbing hearing before the House Energy and Commerce Committee yesterday

(at which Obama officials tried to blame Bush), but the Treasury Department separately announced that their Inspector General (IG)

would join the FBI and Energy Department IG in their investigation of the firm.

The Associated Press also came out with a new batch of emails showing career officials in the Health and Human Services Department

had grave misgivings about a key source of early Obamacare funding, the CLASS Act. “At first glance this proposal doesn’t look workable,”

Chief Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services Actuary Richard Foster wrote. And CBS News reports that three more homicides have

been tied to weapons connected with the Obama administration’s failed Fast and Furious gun-walking sting.

Obama has been reduced to telling adoring college audiences, “If you love me, you got to help me pass this bill.” Unfortunately for

Obama, no Democrat in Congress loved him enough to introduce his jobs bill under its preferred title, “the American Jobs Act.”

So yesterday, Rep. Louie Gohmert, R-Texas, filed his own tax cut bill under that name. Nothing is going as planned for the president this week.

Around the Bigs

ABC News, Now Treasury Dept. Is Launching Investigation: The Treasury Department’s IG has joined the Energy Department IG and

the FBI in their investigation of the Obama administration’s $527million loan to the now-bankrupt Solyndra. For most government loan

guarantees, the loan comes from a private bank and the government only guarantees payment. But for Solyndra, the money came directly

from the Treasury Department’s Federal Financing Bank. “We’re going to look at everything the FFB had to do with its role in this thing,”

Rich Delmar, a spokesman for the Treasury Department’s inspector general, told ABC News.

USA Today, White House defends loan for now-bankrupt solar firm: At a House Energy and Commerce Committee hearing yesterday,

Obama administration officials stood by their decision to give now-bankrupt solar panel manufacturer Solyndra $527 million despite the

fact that Energy Department analysis showed the firm would soon run out of money. “It’s a disappointing outcome but it comes with the

terrain of backing innovative technology,” OMB Deputy Director Jeffrey Zients said.

The Washington Post, Obama green-tech program that backed Solyndra struggles to create jobs: The $38.6 billion loan guarantee

program that President Obama promised would create or save 65,000 jobs has created just 3,545 jobs according to a Post review of

government records.

The Washington Post, After losing special House election in New York, Democrats look toward 2012: The Washington Post reports

that after losing two special elections Tuesday, “Democrats worry that if the economy does not improve and voter anger does not subside,

the 2012 election could be devastating for Obama and congressional Democrats.” “Anybody who was asleep after 2010 . . .

they should wake up,” Rep. Joe Courtney, D-Conn., told The Post.

Associated Press, Long-term care plan alarms ignored: The Obama administration ignored government experts who repeatedly

warned that the Community Living Assistance Services and Supports program (CLASS Act) portion of Obamacare, “could go belly up,

saddling taxpayers with another underfunded benefit program.” “Seems like a recipe for disaster to me,” William Marton, a senior aging

policy official in the administration, wrote in an October 2009 email obtained by the AP.

The Los Angeles Times, California could pose problem for Obama’s healthcare reform: California, a big blue state that was supposed

to be a model for Obamacare implementation, is now seeking to impose strict limits on government health insurance, including capping

the number of times Medicaid patients can see a doctor. “Health reform is badly in need of success stories, and early success in

California could add decisive momentum,” Drew Altman, president of the nonprofit Kaiser Family Foundation, told The Times.

“But if California bogs down, or if there is an implementation failure, it would be a huge negative for the whole implementation effort nationally.”

CBS News, 3 more murders linked to Gunwalker: According to a letter from U.S. Assistant Attorney General Ronald Weich to Rep. Darrell Issa (R-CA)

and Sen. Charles Grassley (R-Iowa), weapons linked to ATF’s controversial “Fast and Furious” operation have been tied to at least eight violent

crimes in Mexico including three murders, four kidnappings and an attempted homicide.

Bloomberg, Obama Approval Plummets Among Americans Skeptical of Jobs Plan: A majority of Americans, 51-40 percent, don’t believe

President Obama’s $447 billion American Jobs Act will help lower the unemployment rate. The new Bloomberg poll also shows that 62

percent of Americans disapprove of Obama’s handling of the economy.

The Wall Street Journal, ‘Geriatric’ U.S. Arsenal Needs Expensive Face-Lift: According to the Center for Strategic and Budgetary Assessments,

U.S. Air Force planes, on average, are the oldest in the history of that branch of the armed forces, which was founded in 1947.

Sons are now flying the exact same planes that their fathers flew.

Campaign 2012

Perry: Texas Gov. Rick Perry spoke to students at Liberty University yesterday, where Human Events‘ Tony Lee reports he was warmly received.

“People desire to be free and speak truth to adversaries and dictators … you are blessed to live in freedom.”

Righty Playbook

The Examiner‘s Phil Klein notes that the AP story on the CLASS Act forgot to mention that “Obama and congressional Democrats

used CLASS as one of their accounting gimmicks to produce a health care bill that the CBO would score as reducing deficits.”

The Examiner‘s Tim Carney acknowledges that recent GOP rhetoric attacking crony capitalism is more word than deed but,

“we free-market populists take whatever drippings we can get, and lip service from prominent Republicans on center stage is an improvement.”

The Entreprise Blog‘s Henrik Temp says Obama’s new AttackWatch website “reveals the end of the politics of hope.”

Lefty Playbook

The New Republic‘s Nick Baumann sounds the alarm about GOP efforts to change how Pennsylvania allocates their Electoral College votes:

“Under the Republican plan, if the GOP presidential nominee carries the GOP-leaning districts but Obama carries the state, the GOP nominee

would get 12 electoral votes out of Pennsylvania, but Obama would only get eight—six for winning the blue districts, and two (representing the

state’s two senators) for winning the state.”

Matt Yglesias applauds Sen. Jeff Merkley, D-Ore., for urging Dem leaders to require the Congressional Budget Office to score the jobs

impact of every Super Committee deficit reduction proposal.

Salon‘s Steve Kornacki looks at Elizabeth Warren’s difficult path to defeating Sen. Scott Brown, R-Mass.

Watch how the English are doing things. What will happen if you dont watch it is Marshal Law will creep no come into play and things will stop.WAKE UP PEOPLE this is all planned. When you crack the code on how to do it then you will succeed. Sounds nutz off the wall 1 oar in the water -skitzoid- whatever you call it .Gov.Perry is right in saying what he said.PEOPLE have to wake up to it all.I talk to friends i have in the states and they think that the twin towers came down by other people when in fact it was our own.We have been lied to and will always be lied to and the elite do not care. We can change things . we can so i think instead of going along with what we normally we stop and readjust our thinking and start looking at doing it ourselves instead of want the system doing it for us.Get off of welfare that is the TOLSTOY thinking. If you want to fall acountry get welfare. The elite love us for all the things the system can do .COME SAID THE FLY --That is the system/gov,t. The fly wants you and will encourage you and we will take the fall. You will think or say im nutz but i implore you to look around and see what is happening. Enough of politics!!!!!!!!!!!!!

What have we here... is this the Stasi, SS or perhaps someone from the newly formed attackwatch.com of the Obama regime.

For those of you who do not know what this new website is all about then listen up! It went up a few days ago. It was believed to have been sanctioned by the White House, probably by Dan Pfeiffer. Google his name!

The mission of this website is for citizens to report anyone who has heard of "false" rumors about the president or about his policies. They can send their complaints to this website. How about that for FREE SPEECH!! Is this where we have come to in the good ole US of A ?
