one explanation why coins are needed

Recommended Posts

I read somewhere Iraq has no vending machines. The coins will enable the country to start offering the public use of them. We take vending machines for granted. Iraq is so far behind us on products and services we have had for decades. The business opportunities from offering them is huge. IMO nothing to do with the RV

I can see your point. As long as they are not going to RD or RV, then that would make sense. Something to think about I guess. Although, in that case, that would be a lot of coins to put in the machine for a bag of chips. Just sayin.......

Thanks. Happy Friday,

I envision a Vending Maching Island out in the middle of the desert, off a major highway, where they can buy Ice Cold Sodas and Chips. laugh.gif

I might add though, that one of the main reasons the US hasn't gone to a completely electronic currency is because of the Vending Machine Industry...

If they produce 1000 dinar coins thats like 50-75 cents us. One or two coins buys a product just like here.

You're right, my bad. In that case, the original post could have some merit. The question still remains, in my mind, though: Why bother making the coins with the zeros if you're going to either lop or RV. I guess we'll know soon enough.

Thanks for correcting me. Happy Friday,

Not trying to correct you :) Just food for thought and it make sence why the coins are important to produce. Why they will produce 500 and 1000 is a mystery if RD is a round the corner. Hoping more smoke and mirrors. Maybe will acually produce lower coins. Who knows....I believe they are producing for the vending machine industry that will be huge for the country.

Yes its true our machines accept dollars. However it has been stated many times two important issues about their paper money. One most is old. Have you tried to use an old bill in a machine. they are very sensitive. second a lot of fraud with their currancy. New coins would eliminate both issues. IMO

How So?

Also remember when the rumor took off about Iraqs money being backed gold. Is there a chance that the coins that are coming out are gold? I don't know if that makes sense or not

Well if that's the case it appears to be bad news in that they will not RV. If they mint coins for vending machines etc, and the coins are going to be 500 & 1,000...it would seem like they have no intention of raising the value of the currency.

correct my math if i'm wrong but if the 1000 dinar paper note is worth approx 1/9 of one penny usd then wouldn't a 1000 dinar coin be woth the same. so 2 coins would be worth 2/9 of a penny. they have to rv. can't buy anything for that value. just saying

A 1000 dinar paper note is worth about US $0.86 at the current 1170:1 rate.

Ok then let me ask this: If you had a couple (2) 1000 dinar coins in your pocket, and they RV, lets say 1:1, do you have $2,000 in your pocket?

Sorry just trying to figure this out. I think if they come out with these coins, the RV is dead. But maybe someone here can tell me what I am missing.

IF the truth is they are creating new 500 and 1000 dinar coins. IMO this is not good news for us. Is it smoke and mirrors? who knows. The coins are being produced for vending machines. 1000 dinar is 50- 75 US cents then we might not be seeing a RV soon....If they produce a lower coin then really good news.

I find it quite interesting people have invested in something they have no idea about. Just sayin'.

1000 dinar = 86 cents.

Took away that negative cuz its a fair observation. In my case its because I like to gamble a bit. Sometimes you win, sometimes you lose. Nobody that's talking or writing really knows. If you read the articles you see that they are either contradictory or make no sense at all. I've been in it since 2004 and this is the only game in which I've been able to reduce what I already put in the pot as a wager without getting my a@@ kicked. At some point Iraq has to call. Whatever the outcome, I want to be at the table.

Well, keep your thinking caps on ... if they are making coinage there has to be some reason. Vegas type casino, not it. You can exchange paper money for the verious weight coinage for each game. Vending machines perhaps, but every little corner store owner, and there seems to be one on every little corner, would be very upset. The only thing I can think of is the need for smaller denomination in a coin ... as if there were an RV?

In case no one remembers, back when North America was first printing its own paper money we had smaller bills that were worth 25 cents ... they were called shin plasters. I know this was in Canada but I thought It was also an American thing.

check it out
