cgbrown
The Congress of the United States of America is embroiled in a power struggle. It's not about the debt ceiling and borrowing power. Its about which ideaology of running this country will win. When people are struggling financially they are more willing to have a government save them, unwittingly exchanging thier personal freedom for financial deliverance. Apparently, our government doesn't believe we are struggling quite enough..... thus the long delays in settling the issues.

Jmcc
Don't think I have seen anybody that works for the government willing to give up their salary or their benefits or their perks or all of the mentioned to make this thing work. Power play!!! We the people somehow have been left out. This can be fixed in less than one hour. Tell the rating companies we are going to default and let Obama worry about how to pay for it instead of him telling the public about the new mileage thingy. Man has got his priorities messed up big time. We can fix this real quick by firing everyone in DC. Our government has grown so big that the common person has no knowledge of what happens in Washington. Both sides of the aisle are at fault. All this started long ago, not last week. There is enough fat in the budget that we don't need a debt increase. Cut the payouts. Stop writing checks for meaningless stuff. The government just spent 450 grand in my small town to repave 1 block in front of the post office. Well we did get a couple of new palm trees. And new curbs. Lost a couple of parking places though. Sorta insane.
investorman
Cgbrown...well spoken and right on the money (excuse the pun). Yes both parties are trying to "position" themselves at our expense. Thanks, Investorman
Redwizard
Right!! Our government waste so much money. Last week O donated $2 billion to the research of malaria. The gov sold there shares of Chrysler to Fiat and lost 1.2 billion on the sell. Our gov has no idea on how to save money. Just sickening! Broke and spend.......
