rwe..........your scenario is exactly what the government doesn't get. I'm willing to bet that the majority of small business owners are not making a killing as they allude to. The current President has never owned a business and never struggled with making payroll much less decisions on running a company. Best of luck to you on living the American dream!

I own 2 small businesses.. Cabinets and Self Storage.

The self storage I just got into... .the cabinets I have been in since 1999.

Self storage is just now starting to pay me a little ( I bought it in March). I have made GROSS PAYROLL less than $2,000.00 this year. I have been keeping it open for my one employee because he has 2 grand children that he is taking care of, but I am running out of money and people are now not able to get any money to remodel. Part of my issue is that in 2006 and 2007 Many builders and subs were asked to come to Western Mississippi to help rebuild after Katrina. The federal governmet came up with a plan to help with down payments on these houses and the plan was working... I did 80% of my business in 2008 in Mississippi. When BO got into office, he cancelled the program that was supposed to last till Dec. 2010. By that time the economy should have come back to where it was destroyed and businesses could survive. The govt even held up building casinos there till there was enough housing to support the workers. It was a win win situation. When the plug was pulled... not only did I have to close my business there but the building that I bought was costing me too much to keep.... I had it rented to some of the major subs up there. It worked well while there was work in that area. So now with a dead economy, mounting debt, and a total lack of respect to those who tried to do as we were asked... I lost what I had there.

Business is where it is at... NOT WORKING FOR THE GOVERNMENT.

The hard thing for me to understand is when you have a leak in your roof do you call the lawn guy???? NO!!!!

When your electric goes out... do you call the cabinet guy?? NO!!!

Why then did we hire a bunch of LAWYERS to fix a financial crisis!!!! What were we thinking!!!!!!!

It's time WE THE PEOPLE started taking back WHAT IS OURS>>>> NOT THEIRS... America belongs to the people.... not the government.

Lets just hope this RV comes soon... We ALL need it!

...... OF COURSE NOT...... AND GROSS WILL BE SO HIGH YOU WOULDN'T BE CONCERNED WITH THE $250K. YOU WILL ALSO ACCUMULATE OTHER ASSETS AND DEPRECIATIONS THAT WILL EXTEND FOR YEARS. USE THE BUSINESS PROPERLY.

I am using the business within the parameters of what the government sets for me. I want a business friendly administration. Who is to say that they wont start cutting my ability to lower my tax liability? It would be nice to have some extra profits to put back in the company that would allow an opportunity to branch out and create jobs for some people in my area. You must understand that I don't want it all for myself, and would enjoy helping the community where I was born and raised.

NOT a matter of PAYING extra... It's closing tax breaks and paying a fair share. Be minded, not every small business is taking advantage of loop holes with tax breaks. Got to have a very good accountant as well! Actually, some small business owners would not see a change!

It doesn't matter how much you tax the big corporations or how many loopholes you take away from them because it still won't come from their bottomlines. Any increase on big corporations to pay will just get passed right back down to the consumers. A tax increase on big corporations is nothing but a hidden tax increase on every American in the form og higher prices for goods and services. So the big corporations will not only keep what they currently make, but they will actually get richer because when then average their cost of tax increase per item of goods sold they won't just raise the prices to cover the extra tax, but they always add a little extra to increase their bottomline.

All this talk about making the rich pay their fair share is nothing but smoke and mirrors to avoid telling the people the truth that this is really a tax increase on them! Corporations are in business to profit and anything they have to pay out to keep that business running all gets factor into costs which all gets factored into the prices they must charge. In the end YOU and every other consumer ends up paying all that tax increase. NOT the rich! Never has, never will, and will always get passed right back to the consumer.

And if the cost ends up being to much to where they can't cover that increase by being able to increase prices enough to cover it AND add in a little extra to increase their bottomlines, then they will adjust to offset any cost by laying off employees and cutting back to preserve their bottomline. So go ahead and root for taxing the rich more. All you are doing is rooting for a tax increase on yourself because it always gets passed on to the people. Always!

The problem isn't needing more taxes which always gets passed right back to the people. The problem is SPENDING! They SPEND way to much and half of it is total waste!
