Doc31
THAT HAS TO BE GOOD NEWS!!!! Nope ... that's either misdirection or bad news. In what country do they pay cops $455,000? They don't and yes I realize that is 455K IQD or $388/year ... oops that doesn't work either ... see what I mean?! Increasing salaries into a revaluation ... seriously? ... if they calculated salaries correctly earlier in the year it would simply bring them to par on what their actual salary was or if they had subsidized their salaries so that they could at least feed their famalies ... then they would be decreasing their salaries into RV. Have to wait and see but my money is on that this is more from the "clown show". We've been seeing more and more to substantiate IQD and USD on par (which is what my "boots on the ground" told me more than a year ago ... that the Iraqis had been told this over and over) and if you look at Ernst and Young's appraisal of the numbers ($1.40) you are looking at "wiggle room". You know I don't rate or date and I'm not doing that here either ... just looking at what we are seeing and hearing. Peace Doc31 12

Good to see you here today Doc, would if they knocked off the 3 zero's that would put them in the right range IMO. What is your opinion on that? a General would then make about 1400 per month! tjmunson
They can not change wages to reflect the RV prior to it happening. That would be letting the cat out of the bag. I believe what is going on here is that salaries are being adjusted to where they need to be. Then, after the RV there is a pre determined percentage change on all salaries and other COG's that will be applied in order for these items to then have the correct buying power under the new exchange rate. In other words, they are getting their ducks in a row and being proactive so that when the RV occurs, a simple mathamatical equation will put everything into the proper perspective in regards to the newly increased buying power of the IQD. I hope this post makes sense. It's clear to me in my head but I may be doing a terrible job of conveying my thoughts. I think this is a sign that we are very close. FXStockpiling
Okay here is what the article is saying to me. * Iraq wants to encourage more people to join the security forces so they are trying to pay them better than what they are getting from those whom oppose them. * this increase includes back pay from 1/2010 at the rate of 17% * all of this is just in time for Ramadan Also IMO, I would do this if I wanted to prove to the UN that my Country could hold off an invasion & security be tight in every State for foreign investment... Also that my security forces that had been with me the longest reap the most from an RV because they have my best interests in mind...

Dalite
Maliki makes no reference to increasing security prior to any change in the value of the Dinar. He only makes reference to increases in pay after a change in value. But, a change in value, needs the promise of security before it can be introduced. If you don't believe this to be a true statement, ask Shabibi... Maliki's sleight of hand is getting slow. His Kung Fu is still strong enough to be viewed as positive by some, but more and more are beginning to watch the left hand, while the right hand is attracting attention. Maliki has no intention of seeing his power diluted by a well paid work force that are able to rise above the category of down trodden. He gains nothing from higher education of the masses, or their success in any endeavor, other than remaining uneducated and poor.. Obama could make the claim that everyone in the US would be given a million dollars, after the Debt is paid off, and be as sincere as Maliki. At least, a change in the value of the Dinar is a possibility; seeing the US Debt paid off --- Not So Much...

cooked
Sounds to me like a prelude to an increase in value. He didn't state the mechanism for the increase in salary just the desire to do it. A rv with salary adjustment would accomplish just that. Go rv.
