.5 British pounds is 1/2 of a pound and a pound is worth 1.60 USD so it would be .80 USD so 1 million Dinar would be 800k USD.

I believe that's how it's figured as well. That rate makes more sense then the $8 one and is more believable as well. +1

BTW I did the math on the three currency converters from 5.24 GBP to USD and your .80 was not what three converters including

Oanda, Forex and XE revealed as the rate of exchange.
