I really wish the CIA would take that rabid dog out.

I have heard he has been in sniper's crosshairs many times, but authorization was never given to engage.

Bin Laden was given the same treatment in his early years.

I truly hope we learn from our past mistakes.

My favorite self-regulation solution is to make sure their camels get plenty of Viagra, and the Mighty Mahdi get no sleep..

Yes, this person, this sect has no regard for the United States. This does look a lot like the verbal threats of another leader. And in the press it draws the support of

more radical persons who have nothing better to do than blow themselves up, for a cause. This will need to be handled soon as I do not believe we are out of there

any time this year and that will definitely require a response from the sadirist movement according to the pronouncement. Just a hint from this direction and I say

take them out! Too much molly coddling about with American soldiers in the balance. Remove the threat, and be clear about why, then make the press release about

how "we will have no more open threats to our presence............without an immediate response".

you forget....we arent telling them how to do anything....thats their own messed up government....can you even imagine what would happen if we pulled out with Iran waiting right there waiting to pounce? We are only there at this point to protect our interests...namely, oil....we dont want Iran (or anyone else, but especially Iran) getting their hands on it

Sadr has a close relationship with Iran and IMO, Iran will be right there if and when the US pulls out, and Iran with take over the Iraqi's new republic.

The Iraqi people should tell their leaders to ensure there is a US military presence in Iraq to thwart Iran from usurping their government and making them puppets. The easiest way to fall into that trap would be orchestrated through the Sadr movement. A sad state of affairs for a newly free republic.

I truly hope we learn from our past mistakes.

Like that will happen! We seem to repeat our mistakes as if they were correct. The Arab world knows we will not act on our threats. Our troops are the best in the world, and the commanders know what and how to eliminate the enemy. But we have civilian leaders who only know how to play political games and put our troops in harms way or get them killed. Consequently we are looked on as weak and unable to do anything. Therefore the opposition to the U.S. becomes embolden to destroy any semblance of U.S. presence anywhere in the world. These petty tyrants do not want the freedom we offer to them. It takes away their control. And, they don't want us to have the freedom either.

Oops. I'm getting carried away.

Let's get this RV done before there is civil war in Iraq.

Agree, and disagree.

On one hand, my pride asks why is Sadr dumb enough to poke the bear with a stick.

But, then, I think about what we would say if Country X was here, telling us how to live...

But Country X isn't here.

Sadr's an idiot. He doesn't seem to even begin to understand the strength and raw power of the United States military--and he certainly has no clue about the big world outside his own small sphere. His utter failure as a leader is in his word choice: calling us "occupiers" instead of "liberators." He just can't seem to understand that he is fighting in a potato sack. America will never allow that little fool to stop us. We have too much at stake. The world is going to hell, and we need to keep this new Iraqi Ship of State upright and secure in order to hold onto our own freedom and security, and perhaps to even keep several other nations upright. Sadr is simply an Iranian stooge, strutting and posturing self-importantly across the local political landscape, no more than a small flea in a big sandpile.

Makes me wish I were president. We wouldn't have his dumb mouth gnawing away at us if I had the power to stop it permanently. Our troops deserve much better than to leave them exposed to this.
