The Ban Ki-moon in his latest report to the UN Security Council lifted a number of provisions of Chapter VII of Iraq for nearly seven months, which was a major step towards the normalization of Iraq’s international status. In introducing the report, quoted the official Kuwaiti news agency (KUNA) on Saturday that said that his Special Representative, Ed Melkert and coordinator of the UN High Gennady Tarsov “are committed to providing assistance to Iraq and Kuwait in order to find the settlement of the obligations of the Security Council remained a long time.” And on the current situation in Iraq, he said that Baghdad over the past few months has demonstrated its commitment to improving daily living conditions of the people.

Nailed it is a understatement. In a world of steps in the right direction, this one is more encouraging than any so far. Finally, independent verification that they are actually discussing the exit from chapter 7. Whats next, actually sitting a Kurd in the ministry of security/defense? A link would be nice, in addition to this same article being on other almost equal websites. Take encouragement on this one folks.
