good ....people with more should pay more.

ov

Only the rich can invest & create jobs. Nobody on welfare, food stamps or unemployment compensation ever created a job.

We are running off 20 millionaires every month to tax free havens like Panama, Cayman Islands & Belize. Keep this up & we'll run everyone with any money out of the country for good. The middle class is wiped out or unemployed. Welfare & the unemployed don't pay taxes. That leave no revenues coming in. Who will bare the tax load?

For those that just can't get the BEER explanation or say yeah but... Keep in mind that a company that has been around for generations and survived many economic down turns to include the one we are currently in with out taking a dime from the government is Ford motor company. Its founder Henry Ford is quoted as saying "A business that makes nothing but money is a poor business." His attitude was to give back because it was the right thing to do, not because the government imposed it on him.

Common Sense comes into play. The more you make the more taxes you pay. The more taxes you pay the bigger break you get when breaks come around. If the BEER explanation missed the mark how about STANDING. Replace the beer with simply having to stand up for 100 minutes. and when the "breaks" come they come in the form of getting to sit down. Some people never have to stand up so how can they sit down more? Some get to sit down all the time now and so on. But if the job is to have someone standing all the time then you must give the longest "break" to the guy who is standing up the most otherwise you put so much burden on one person that he quits then who will do his job?

Now thats about as grade school as I can get it.

I earn the nick name in the Army and some of the guys would call me "Doc BS". As the "Doc" I rode in whatever truck had room for me and the guys seemed to think I had some sort of target on my back because we always seemed to find ourselves in some sort of trouble or BS. Which is where "Black Sheep" came from

Flat Tax for everyone!!!!

So how would the working class be able to pay the same as the rich?

How about cutting our government spending and then raise taxes after thats done. What a concept. Why should people rich or poor pay more in taxes, while certain individuals are taking billion dollar trips to Italy and Ireland? Oh yeah lets touch base on that Mr. President... Dont forget the 3 hairdressers for the 1st lady, yup need them along at 200.00/hour. Makes me sick....

Great Post so-so true my friend, this is how liberal-socialist pigs work....

How about cutting government waste and spending and not raising taxes? You raise taxes and you're going to slow the economy. If we get this windfall we'll be forced to invest it and create more jobs for those that have to work. I think this is all about ruining any chance of prosperity. Not everyone aspires to be Slaves to the corporations until the day they die. I have another word for slave but I can no longer say it in this so called free country.

This is tyranny. The fools and or crooks that mismanaged the country are now trying to tax us yet further? Cut whatever you have to until the books are balanced. I'm already paying more than my fair share and getting undermined for it.

Some of what they need to be doing is stopping these CEO's from running off with billions that should be going to the share holders and workers.

It would be according to what you make. Then what ever percentage that would be fair across the board. Wishful thinking though.

How about the US Govt. taking S.S. out of the general fund and stop the govt. from using S.S. funds to run the govt. also take Hud out of the pocket of S.S. . That would save untold billions. Stop all lobbying of our govt. officals and audit thier money because they constantly have thier hands out for money.

Once Politically Correctness (which I have my own personal opinions about) comes into play "fair across the board" takes on a whole new meaning. And there my friend is where a large part of the United States's problems exist. IMHO

I don't agree with them paying MORE but I certainly agree with them paying their share. It seems the more you make the more "loopholes" that are formed to help keep tax liability at a minimum.

Loopholes? You mean like the mortgage deduction or Child Tax Credit? If you don't have a mortgage or kids, those sure seem like loopholes. Loopholes sound like dirty tax cheating dodges. Loopholes are just legitimate deductions in the tax code. Most flat tax ideas will take care of loopholes. JMO.

The government is always full of bright ideas. They assume raising taxes will take us out of debt and really all it will do is cause more unemployment. This is why it is high as it is. This country has the highest tax rate of any country, that is why the companies all jump ship and move overseas. This is also why the jobs go along with them. It is always easier to take money from the american people, not get the OK as to what you are spending it on, and when all else fails, just take some more money from them. Land of the free applies to the government and their ability to freely take, because land of the free has not applied to the US citizens for some time; nor has the whole saying "for the people by the people" - that is now "for the government by the government".

people who make a lot of money already do pay more taxes than the average wage earner. I think the very large corporations, banks GE, big oil etc. All those companies need to pay some taxes. Most of these big companies are not paying a dime in taxes. This is wrong. GE contibuted big time to Obama's campaign and got away without paying a dime in taxes. This is all wrong.

The whole U.S. tax system on income is a frigging joke. So many thousands of volumes, no one really knows or understands whats in the tax codes. Yes, we need a "fair" tax. NOT taxes on income. IMHO: Gov. should encourage people to make MORE money especially business by the more you make the less you pay as an incentive for growth and encouragment. All should pay something. Even Julio and Jose that work for cash and do not report a dime of it. So whats a fair tax? Flat tax? NO. Julio and Jose still earn unreported incomes. Nat'l sales tax would make more sense because these guys and others like them still go to the store and buy bread and milk and beer, and also buy gasoline, cars, appliances, condoms etc.

Do you listen to our elected officials?

The rich are to blame for this countries ills THEY SAY.... It's the successful people in every area that should be punished THEY SAY

What elected officials will have to do, because of the evil rich, they will have to cut monies to the poor, the sick, education, the elderly, and the military..This has always been there tactic.....and then blame the people who work hard for their success..WHY WOULD THESE BE THE FIRST CUTS THEY MAKE?????? Why can't they cut the billions of dollars they waste every year..why do we have to send billions out of this country and let our people suffer first? I'm not saying we shouldn't help other countries because we should. These elected officials are so out of control right now we are all in trouble. The ROBIN HOOD STORY IS OLD....God created enough of everything to go around forever....Hard work and a good heart does not equal greed...government =greed, arrogance , immorality, and just plain stupidity.....it has always been and will always be DON'T DO AS I DO .....DO AS I SAY.....YOUR TAX DOLLARS HARD AT WORK......

So let me clearly understand you, those the work harder and smarter and make more money should give the government more of our money so they can hand it out to those that choose to sit on there asses and do nothing? REALLY? And which of the two groups are you in?

2 maybe 3 level heads here. I am 1. I quoted number 2. See if you can find number 3.

A great economics lesson..........

THE TAX SYSTEM EXPLAINED IN BEER

Suppose that every day, ten men go out for beer and the bill for all

ten comes to $100...If they paid their bill the way we pay our taxes,

it would go something like this..

.

The first four men (the poorest) would pay nothing.

The fifth would pay $1.

The sixth would pay $3.

The seventh would pay $7.

The eighth would pay $12.

The ninth would pay $18.

The tenth man (the richest) would pay $59.

So, that's what they decided to do.

The ten men drank in the bar every day and seemed quite happy with the

arrangement, until one day, the owner threw them a curve ball. "Since

you are all such good customers," he said, "I'm going to reduce the

cost of your daily beer by $20." Drinks for the ten men would now cost

just $80.

The group still wanted to pay their bill the way we pay our taxes. So

the first four men were unaffected. They would still drink for free.

But what about the other six men? The paying customers? How could they

divide the $20 windfall so that everyone would get his fair share?

They realized that $20 divided by six is $3.33. But if they subtracted

that from everybody's share, then the fifth man and the sixth man

would each end up being paid to drink his beer.

So, the bar owner suggested that it would be fair to reduce each man's

bill by a higher percentage. They decided to follow the principle of

the tax system they had been using, and he proceeded to work out the

amounts he suggested that each should now pay.

And so the fifth man, like the first four, now paid nothing (100% saving).

The sixth now paid $2 instead of $3 (33% saving).

The seventh now paid $5 instead of $7 (28% saving).

The eighth now paid $9 instead of $12 (25% saving).

The ninth now paid $14 instead of $18 (22% saving).

The tenth now paid $49 instead of $59 (16% saving).

Each of the six was better off than before. And the first four

continued to drink for free. But, once outside the bar, the men began

to compare their savings.

"I only got a dollar out of the $20 saving," declared the sixth man.

He pointed to the tenth man, " but he got $10!"

"Yeah, that's right," exclaimed the fifth man. "I only saved a dollar

too. It's unfair that he got ten times more benefit than me!"

"That's true!" shouted the seventh man. "Why should he get $10 back,

when I got only $2? The wealthy get all the breaks!"

"Wait a minute," yelled the first four men in unison, "we didn't get

anything at all. This new tax system exploits the poor!"

The nine men surrounded the tenth and beat him up.

The next night the tenth man didn't show up for drinks, so the nine

sat down and had their beers without him. But when it came time to pay

the bill, they discovered something important. They didn't have enough

money between all of them for even half of the bill!

And that, boys and girls, journalists and government ministers, is how

our tax system works. The people who already pay the highest taxes

will naturally get the most benefit from a tax reduction. Tax them too

much, attack them for being wealthy, and they just may not show up

anymore. In fact, they might start drinking overseas, where the

atmosphere is somewhat friendlier.

Most of the large corps have already done the over seas jump. Wait until the smaller corps get sick of it and pack up. When they do, you can bet your ass they will expatriate so they will no longer be subject to these ridiculous tax increases. Then you can say bye-bye to the America we had known and loved, because who's gonna fix it? The 4 that don't pay anything? 5, 6, 7, 8 and 9 who ***** and complain about what # 10 has?

National sales tax has my vote. Make April 15th just another day...get rid of a lot of people on the government payroll...
