429
So there's this young military hero -- because everyone who served this country with honor in Iraq is a hero -- applied for and received a US passport in 2006. In 2004 he had started the process but hadn't completed it. So in 2006 when he got to the question about whether or not he had ever applied for a passport before, he said no because he had never finished the process earlier. Oops. Now he's in Federal Custody and possibly looking at 10 years in prison for passport fraud. C'mon man! These federal bureaucrats can't seem to be able to see past the tips of their noses. The guy made an honest mistake. here's the link: http://www.cnn.com/2011/CRIME/06/24/florida.passport.fraud/index.html?iref=allsearch
Jmcc
You are right about the feds. They look at the letter of the law and not allowed to think for themselves. Might be more to the story than we know, but still should not happen. Think of all the taxpayer money wasted on cases like this.
Dinarius Rucker
These are the same guys that wasted taxpayers' dollars, because a baseball player had the nerve to tell them he didn't use steroids.
