It was a lop/redenomination....which ever term you prefer to use.....but it did allow the exchange rate to rise once it was completed.....

Yes, the last reform was done in 2005 according to what I have gathered in research and wasn't it pegged to the US Dollar at that time? I know that it fluctuated alot after their 1986 reform but it seemed better

after the lhe most recent reform.

OMO this should be considered an achievement for Iraq. Excellent find BB.

God Bless America!:)

North Cyprus Currency

Currency of Northern Cyprus - The currency is the Turkish Lira...in 2005 Turkey and Northern Cyprus knocked off a whole load of zeros from the currency and the NEW Turkish Lira was born! Exchange rates fluctuate but on the whole the currency is now very stable. The Cyprus pound is now considered to be a foreign currency and is subject to foreign exchange regulations, but is used as a parallel-market trading currency together with British pound and US dollar. What's the good news about this if they are referencing turkey? look more like RD everyday

What doesnt bother me about this is that turkey produces 60k barrels of oil a day...

Iraq on the other hand produces close to almost 3 million a day with a projected 5 to 10 million a day in the coming years.

A revalue CAN occur. Im not saying something stupid like 3+, but at .20 to .80 or even a dollar per? Definitly could.

Comparing Turkey to Iraq in terms of economy is idiotic.

you are so full of BS just to stir people up over nothing just stop it already. hahahaha. lop and redenomination is different & they are not doing either they are exchanging for the small bills you take a 25k note in and get back 25k in small notes.

I'm not stirring up anything....that's exactly what the article is referring to....he asked a question and I answered it....whether they follow through with this is anyones guess but the article is talking about deleting the zeros....I put both lop and redenomination together because so many use the term lop as slang for a redenomination so in the sense that all the forums use the word lop, its the same as saying they want to redenominate.....did I make this article? Nope....did I post this article? Nope.....just clearing up confusion and or questions another member had.....
