Iraqi donkey gets US residency

15/05/2011 21:51 Erbil, May 15 (Aknews) – After it became of mascot to a group of US Marines in Anbar, Iraq, the donkey landed in New York through a cargo jet from Turkey, the AP reported today.

The report says the donkey from Iraq is now a United States resident.

After being quarantined for two days he was released yesterday and began a road trip to Omaha, Nebraska, where he is destined to become a therapy animal, according to the AP report.

In mid-2008, Smoke wandered in to Camp Taqaddum west of Fallujah, a former Iraqi air base used by Marines.

The donkey, which once snatched and ate a cigarette from a Marine, soon became part of the unit.

Yep, if this animal was able to take a Marine's smoke and eat it, it has more guts than most and deserves to be a citizen. With those kind of nerves this animal has a potential place in Congress.
