So what's the truth here.... <_<

sounds like the truth is that the iraqi list shot down the vote. they are not going to accept or vote on any candidates that maliki puts forward. that's it. end of story. they want their agreement honored from Erbil and maliki is trying to worm out of it by presenting his own people for the positions. al iraqya says in both articles that the names CANNOT be chosen by the commander-in-chief.

So, it seems maliki's National Coalition tried to do an end run around allawi by sending the names to parliment but because al iraqya has most of the votes it didn't work. that's it in a nutshell, i believe.

now, supposedly, they are going to get together and hammer out a new agreement??? yeah, good luck with that...

i'm wondering where all of this impacts the budget. without them opening the budget there can be no development of services for the people. they may have more riots on their hands. if they decide on opening the budget then they have to show the rate. so, it seems like they don't really care if people are dieing just so long as they get their way. if that's true then it's not looking good.

the only possibility at this point is if the people rise up and threaten revolt. that might at least get them to open the budget and show the rate in a rv. if that happens then they can just fight it out until the cows come home 'cause we will already be spending our money. hope that's what happens... JMO...

IMHO,

Maliki and the GOI will wait until the last possible moment to fill the seats. Now whether or not this moment is June 30th remains to be seen. The 'Smoke and Mirror' campaign continues as usual. I wouldn't sell anything, PERIOD. I think that the protections wearing off may very well be the catalyst that is needed. The security of the country has always been in question and I don't think that is a MAJOR factor in this at all. I think the GOI accepts the fact that there will be 'civil unrest' regardless of who is in control of the government. We're better off SPECULATING on the rate versus the date. Let's not loose sight of the bigger picture here, folks. The WORLD is in economic shambles and the RV is just one, NOT THE ONLY, thig that MAY bring it out of a tailspin. Also, keep in mind that this is MUCH MUCH bigger than any one government, political party, or group of investors (no matter how savy they may be). Just be patient, continue to plan (or make plans if you already haven't), and invest IF AND ONLY IF you have the means to do so. When the RV happens, there are going to be a number of people scrambling to cash-in but may not have fully thought the aftermath through. They'll be the ones talking about how they enjoyed their money but have to go to work, or worse have to find another job because they told their employer to take a flying leap. I suggest we NOT be in that category. Good luck, God speed and GO RV!!!!

P.S. Is it me or is "GO RV" starting to sound like a battle cry...

This is not necessarily a bad thing. With all the "deletion of zero's" bs going on this may be indicating that they are getting away from any chance of a LOP and taking the extra time to do the RV in a way that will better serve both Iraq and her investors.

It's been stated by very reliable sources on the threads the last few days that if the deletion of zero's law was passed by parliament the RV would happen quickly but at a rate and process that could be much lower than anything we would hope for. By taking the extra time, perhaps they are getting their ducks in a row and taking the monetary steps needed to do this at a much higher rate.

I've lived the first 43 years of my life without being a millionaire. I can wait another month if that may be the difference between taking my family on a nice vacation or buying my own Island.

Hang in there everyone. This could be total smoke or it could be the time they need to do this right.

Peace
