aaanth
this has already been posted a few times. And, as a result of this statement, al iraqya, allawi's party, has promptly rejected any candidate that maliki's party, the national coalition, has or will put forward. we are in the same place we have been since maliki started trying to grab the power of continuing this ridiculous charade of stalling until he can get his own people into these positions. Which, is never going to happen, as allawi has already said his party is due the security minister as per the agreement at erbil, which maliki is refusing to honor as it will give allawi power over him. it is what maliki agreed to but has, for the last 5 months been trying to dodge. Unfortunately for him his 100 days has run out and he faces a no confidence vote shortly. i really hope he just gives allawi what he is supposed to as a new goi, with elections all over again will take forever... it's like they are playing a game of "chicken". who's gonna break first. i just hope maliki will decide that some power is better than none and at the last just complete the goi. if not, and he continues to take the position that if he can't have it his way then it can all go to hell in a handbag, then we are in for a longer wait... tjmunson
They are not voted in and there is another article that says the defense minister is not acceptable to the party that Allawi leads. At this stage of the game, I take conflicting reports as good news. They said to expect much misinformation and confusion prior to the RV......conflicting reports fit the bill. peace
