Close source to Maliki: Iraqiya and State of Law close to agree on Iraq political majority government

Wednesday, April 27, 2011 12:33 GMT

A close source to Prime Minister Nuri Al Maliki pointed out on Tuesday to the rapprochement between Al Iraqiya List and State of Law Coalition on the formation of a political majority government instead of the present national partnership government.

The source stressed that the rapprochement between the two parties will make of Iraq a typical example noting that the possibility of accord between Al Iraqiya and State of Law Coalition has reached 99%.

“The natural structure of an Iraqi sound and typical political situation resides in the rapprochement between Al Iraqiya List and State of Law Coalition. The willingness to come together is stronger than the rows between the two parties”, State of Law Coalition MP Izzat Al Shahbandar told Alsumarianews.

“When the two parties come together, it would be possible for them to constitute a political majority and form a majority government. The possibility of accord has progressed up to 99% since there is a strong willingness to move forward in this regard mainly from the part of Iraqiya List in exception for leader Iyad Allawi. The State of Law Coalition is willing as well”, Al Shahbandar said.

“Certain parties support the government to obtain special prerogatives. However, when it comes to assuming responsibilities, they turn to the opposition to profit from other gains”, he argued.

“The national partnership is a joke that should end so that political leaders could form a political majority government and proceed duly with transfer of power and not power sharing as it is happening presently”, State of Law MP said.

“Certain political parties should hold responsibility of their presence in the opposition. We are not able to identify Al Iraqiya List’s stand till now. When it comes to holding responsibility, it takes side with the opposition. In case of prerogatives however, it strives to achieve new ones”.

Rows have escalated between the two major winning parties in March 2010 Parliamentary elections. Tension has spiked ahead and after the formation of the government.

Iraqiya List led by Iyad Allawi, which won 91 seats out 325 seats in parliamentary elections, blames the State of Law Coalition for not implementing bilateral agreements mainly in regards to the national strategic policy council. Al Iraqiya accuses the State of Law also of adopting the policy of marginalization.

The State of Law Coalition on the other headed by Prime Minister Nuri Al Maliki, which won 89 seats in parliamentary elections, accuses Al Iraqiya of averting responsibility in its quality as a partner in the government. The State of Law argues that Al Iraqiya does not acknowledge its partnership when it comes to prerogatives.

Fox, this is odd, but as I was reading this article, which I was able to finish for once, I was thinking that it was fairly clear and was a good translation. There was not one mention of a watermelon.

And this sounded like good news, yes, I know we have heard this before, but it does sound close.

Peace.
