RV In June-What A Rumor

The figures I see repeated from multiple sources tell this story: There are a total of 27 Trillion Dinars in print. BOI has recovered 17 Trillion (about 63%) leaving 10 Trillion in circulation. Of that, the US government owns a reported 5.7 Trillion, individuals and small-time speculators own about 300 Billion (about 3%), and the remaining 4 Trillion is owned by other countries.

A note of caution - especially to newcomers to the dinar roller coaster - just because numbers get repeated frequently doesn't make them true. No one knows just how many dinar are still outstanding, how many dinar the US has (if any), how many dinar speculators like us have and so forth. It's impossible to base an argument or rate on the number of dinar outstanding because no one knows the amount.

For example, a lot of people think in the scheme of things we speculators are very small. Individually, yes, we are, but collectively we represent a rather decent sized block especially IF the amount of outstanding dinar is lower than the 27 trillion figure that gets thrown about.

Ali is one of the biggest dealers in dinar. He has said in the past that he averages between 20-25 Billion dinar sales a month. Assuming the lower number of 20 Billion, that adds up to 240 Billion dinar sold a year. He has been in business for 7 years. That is 1.68 TRILLION dinar to speculators just from his sales alone. That's a conservative estimate so my guess is that it's more than that. Added to that there are other dinar dealers here in the US and overseas. It isn't a big stretch to believe that all together they and Ali represent sales to speculators in the 2.25-4 Trillion dinar range.

So, while individually we each may not have a big amount, together we hold a nice % of dinars in circulation, particularly IF the amount in circulation has been reduced.

This is just a small example of how the numbers that people throw around aren't always accurate. Just because everyone says numbers are true doesn't make it so. Take everything you hear - particularly when it's the basis of arguments and rationale for why something must happen - with a big grain of salt. It will make your ride on this crazy roller coaster a lot less stressful.
