Baghdad, 24 February (اكانيوز)-The Iraqi Central Bank declared on Thursday that

the sale of approximately $154 million-and-a-half million, most of which in the

form of foreign remittances were a natural situation and not an indication for

the transfer substantial funds abroad and has nothing to do news travel of

officials, out of Iraq and the confiscation of large amounts of money in

Baghdad International Airport.

Dr. Mazhar salih said Iraqi central bank adviser told news Kurdistan (اكانيوز)

that " the sale currency money orders out of Iraq on the sale of the currencies

in the central bank, it was natural, there have been index for the transfer of

funds to the outside world."

Saleh said that " the total purchasing power offers in the form of remittances

amounted to 152,336,000 dollars, while the total of cash purchasing two million

and sixty thousand dollars only."

Saleh said that "the purchasing power of the central bank in an auction on

Thursday, which was mostly in the form of foreign remittances is not the

process of transferring money abroad is recorded as an indication for the

transfer of funds through transfers because of the lack of the possibility of

transferring substantial funds from Baghdad airport," he said.

Saleh added that " the authorities in Baghdad airport according to the laws do

not allow the Iraqis, whether they are citizens or officials of more than ten

thousands of dollars with them when the trip."

Saleh stressed that "this issue was not-we have no indication of people to

transfer their money through auction of the currencies in the central bank",

pointing out that " the process of transferring remittances a thorough process

and the names and addresses of people in countries transferred to them."

Saleh and that "the price of the US dollar sale cash dollar was 1183 Iraqi

dinars, including the Central Bank of 13 dinars to the dollar," he said.

Saleh added that " the central bank of Iraq is in the process of selling and

buying the dollar at a price of 1117 Dinars and commissions and in the case of

cash selling money orders."

Saleh said that " the central bank is done in a normal way and not affected by

what is the news of the run-up to the start of a demonstration on Friday."

It is worth mentioning that media had indicated that many of the officials and

House of Representatives have left Iraq on the road of Baghdad International

Airport, in the last two days and the authorities in Baghdad airport to one

million two hundred thousand dollars, was taken by officials, members of

parliament out of Iraq.

my take on this is simply that they wanted to report to the people that its all good and that money and people in authority are NOT fleeing the country - that presumption woudl create chaos and mistrust...

All in all I am glad they addressed the issue quickly - has nothing to do with RV - its more about maintaining the peace

My take on it was that....(Don't bash me)

Was their way of saying "Look if we the CBI RV on Friday we don't want you to think it was just because of the demonstration for Friday, but actually was our plan the whole time" I think all the other news in this article was just smoke for that small piece of detail back door information. JMO
