Well ... nothings changed!

Sorry ... I just had to do that ... to see just how long it takes to do that I mean ... those of you who have been around a while know what I mean ... lol

Okay here you go:

The latest daily currency auction was held in the Central Bank of Iraq on the 22-FEB-2011.

The results were as follows:

Oil jumping way up (to get into position for us? ... yep, that's for you conspiracy theorists ... yes, I know what happens to oil prices when there is unrest in the Middle East ... ok, that was for the purists ... are we good now? ... lol)

Gold ... kind of hard to describe ... it ran up consistently for a couple of days then went sideways ... got as high as $1410 and is off that a bit and trending down(?) presently

Zeroes ... near at 1.77M or 1.072% on moderate volume and 20 (of 22?) banks participating.

Has everyone read Frank26's chat from last night. I'm tired of defending him here ... so read him or don't ... but consider this ... I agreed this morning with someone that I have agreed with only once before ... if I hadn't read his post ... it would have been my loss. I told you yesterday that the news had no depth ... no substance. Frank26 speaks to that as well.

His chat post from last night is better than all of the news for the last several days. I'm not your mom ... it's your choice. But I'm not going to go re-hash something that he did much better than anyone has in weeks!

I do want to address something for us to stick on the back burner and "ponder" awhile. We see in the news that apparently there is $39.5 billion missing. Now, Frank26 calls it $40M but I'm pretty sure that it's what he means. A couple of thoughts ... DFI funds are missing ... DFI? ... the ones that were supposedly transferred from the FRBNY to a treasury location in Virginia? ... those funds? The ones that nearly a year ago we did the math on and came up with almost $600B to just under $900B?

This morning I had a wild idea after reading Frank26 and thought ... let's go see what the "near zero" days total to see if we were in fact right about the "sipping air through a straw" ... but more importantly ... where it might have come from ...

Drum roll please ... nah, it didn't ... a cumulative $70.267M since Oct 7th ...

Then I totaled all of the wires since Oct 7th ... nah, $13.887B ... combine that with the cash portion and we have $13.957B total volume ... drat ... I wondered if I had 'em for a few minutes there ... I'll keep looking ... there is something there!

Iranian warships in the Suez Canal ... you do the math ... I know the Israelis are on top of it!

Demonstration into a celebration? ... we will see ... that is high stakes poker Mr PM ... there wasn't a need to take it down to the last nanosecond IMO except to shift the power sharing agreement to your advantage ... forsaking your people for power ... not an uncommon theme unfortunately!

Does anyone have a link to Condi Rice's comment ... is that current/true? ... I didn't see it. If someone has it ... please post it here.

What was Condi Rice's comment?

The only comment that I found curious... came from M while in Kuwait..

When Obama neglected to receive his message for going through the wrong channels to contact him..

He said.. "This is our reward?" (He was obviously angry)

Why would anyone ever say that? Obviously for reason(s) such as they felt they did someone a great favor and respect their due.

Right? -- The article used that whole scenario in speculating the U.S. has started to step away from backing M. I figured I'd read into it further. Only speculation though, nothign more.

Not surprised to continue to see Crude on the rise.. I think it was Syria that made a comment that until their civil unrest dies down, they have cut off supplying the western countries.

Suprised that you mentioned nothing changed! I was trying to catch that time in the night when it updates. As obviously, when I woke up & saw that the indicative rates went unchanged date wise... I had to follow up by checking the auctions. Their IT guy needs to stop being lazy and update the rates... Even if they basically go unchanged, at least update the dates. We got a whole world speculating and watching here so to see info. stay the same

Contradicting articles about Parliament adjourning for a week or a day..

Lots of ministery articles being introduced for interior. Wonder if any truth sits behind that.
