Iraq prepares for DFI exit strategy: Will transfer funds prior to May 1st

Baghdad has taken a series of new procedures for the protection of Iraq’s money abroad Currency News Hound - [2/4/2011]

Iraqi government decided to take a series of measures for the protection of Iraq’s money abroad through the implementation of its international obligations regarding the Gulf War reparations and open new accounts.

The Minister of State and government spokesman Ali al-Dabbagh said in a statement that the government decided during the meeting on Tuesday approved all the recommendations of the Special Committee should establish a mechanism to ensure the protection of Iraq’s money.

He explained that the first of these steps are the demand of the Iraqi Council of Representatives approved the settlement agreement concluded with the United States of America regarding the amount of compensation (400) million U.S. dollars.

It also called on the government to agree on a specific mechanism which is transparent and deducting a percentage of compensation other 5 per cent.

The Government also requested from the follow-up to the Iraqi Foreign Ministry to issue a presidential decree, the U.S. executive to protect Iraq’s money in the United States of America.

And cost the government as well as a committee of the Ministries of Finance, Foreign Affairs, Office of Financial Supervision and the Central Bank of Iraq to prepare the report of the Government of Iraq, which will be submitted to the UN Security Council on the first of May next.

The Government drew the CBI to carry out immediately the process of opening accounts in other banks and money transfer account to fund the development of Iraq before the first of May next.

Iraq should be paying the US billions per year to stay until the new system is fully in place.

What are you crazy? We can't control our own borders, let alone a war torn country with radical Islam at every side! Polititians are to blame and not the military, but still! How bout lets get our country in order!
