Silverdinar
Go ahead Dr. Allawi, go after him. He has not abided by the agreements of the constitution and therefore automatically has renigned on the LAW. Put in your 2cents and challenge him. Maybe you can get the RV done quicker, I'll be behind you if you can do by the end of the month.

Nani?
i feel a revolt coming on... ha ha ha really? because you have been a part of a revolt before? I also don't know if this is true it's off of a blog but if it is true then maybe just maybe that will incline maliki to move faster and get his gov formed. zantac
I personally believe the not so seated GOI will do well in the near future to stop all out civil war. Sadly that then falls once again to our home nations armed forces. Don’t go quitting your day job just yet 3
Bobbydee
It would be nice if someone got the ball rolling. Thanks for the post. Go RV God Bless Semper Fi
adlon
If the in-fighting is going to start again, there will be no RV for some time to come. I was at least hoping that the RV would occur before the Arab summit, which is to be held in Iraq.
Inbedded HorseHead
I'm getting negative vibes the RV happens within the next 12-18 months. There is a great force I believe is keeping this from happening. Gut feelings are pretty worthless in the grand scheme..... 2
The G-Man
So, you all think the answer is Civil War? That was the point of my question. While Alawi and Maliki wrestle for power, the Iraqi citizen suffers starves and needs money. Enter Sadr. Sadr gets money from Iran and hires the starving Iraqis and BANG- BANG, here we go again. So, instead of Alawi claiming his pound of flesh, for the good of the Iraqi people he should be helping Maliki form the cabinet, etc. So, who's the bad guy here? Alawi lost the fight whether we like Maliki or not. So, lets get the Gov't done and get the people fed and lets RV. 2

Brisco
this is just a blog with no link to a source at all. Here is your link MooCow (صوت العراق) – 20-01-2011 (Voice of Iraq) – 20/01/2011 (Voice of Iraq) – PNA-Damluji said Mason, a member of the House of Representatives Iraqi List led by former President of the Iraqi government, Iyad Allawi, the official speaking on its behalf, said that «there is a circumvention of the Constitution» practiced Nuri al-Maliki, the prime minister. She pointed out that «the existence of this government is not constitutional, the fact that the Prime Minister did not give the House full of his cabinet, but as part of the ministry while serving the Iraqi constitution that provides in charge of the formation of the ministry full member to get the confidence of Parliament within the constitutional period», noting only that « There are still nine ministries vacant, and this is a circumvention of a clear and true to the Constitution and Parliament ». She said Maysoon al in a conversation «Middle East», by telephone from Baghdad, yesterday, that «the security ministries, and some service ministries are still without ministers, at a time when Iraq situations difficult security, and a big decline in services, especially the Ministry of electricity, which is Iraqis have a significant shortfall in services », warning that« there are a lot of agreements that have been in Erbil, Erbil after, under the initiative of Massoud Barzani, President of the Kurdistan Region have not been achieved so far ». In answering a question about the safeguards that reassure them to achieve these agreements and ensures the functioning of the political process, she said: «There are no guarantees and this is what we are concerned, these agreements were made under a gentlemen’s agreement». On the insistence of the mass on the nomination of Falah al-Naqib of the Ministry of Defence, said the official speaking on behalf of «Iraq»: «The problem we have not received any decision from the al-Maliki on whether to accept or reject the Captain, which he did not refuse to agree. In the last letter arrived from the Prime Minister to the (Iraqi) Maliki says he can still be seen on the subject », pointing out that« the mass of the Iraqi rejection of the reasons you will be prompted that this is done, because we want to know these reasons and the extent of realism ». And attached to the Iraqi List, great hopes on the National Council of the policies the Supreme, to be be chaired by Allawi, said Maysoon al, that «the agreement occurred on the overall law of the Council, and the process stalled at the crossroads of the vote, they insist we are in the (Iraqi) to be voted on law and to be Dr. Allawi as its President in the parliament and to have the confidence of the members of the House of Representatives, and to recognize his authority there, while he wants the National Alliance to be the vote on the presidency of the National Council of the policies the Supreme within the Council itself », pointing out that the« National Council of the policies of the Supreme will President of the Republic and his deputies, the parliament speaker and two deputies, Prime Minister and his deputies, the President of the Kurdistan Region and the heads of political blocs, where decisions will be binding if approved by two-thirds ». The spokeswoman said that «the mission of this Council are many and complex, the first time will be in Iraq Council to draw the country’s policies in all aspects of security, military, economic, educational and water, and in regard to women, as well as cultural and media», pointing out that «Iraq has been working without any policy, because it is not There is only a budget that does not know how one is spent, and this Council will reduce corruption and waste ». The draft of the Council that the work of the Council and its President and its members continue for one cycle to form a government of the session following the establishment of the Council, and the Congress may extend the work of the new Council for a second session with the consent of an absolute majority of the members of the new Council of Representatives
Danneedsrvnow
2. There are still 9 ministries vacant 9 vacant??????????? There sure has been many rumors stating all but 3 were left!?!? If we are still looking for 9 positions to be filled......... then we have one heck of a long wait!!! truthful1
Catch 22......If Maliki fails to complete GOI because of Allawi.................What makes one think Maliki wouldn't cause as much trouble when Allawi goes to form GOI. I see this as a one hit wonder. They have one chance to get in right for all of Iraq. Since there are Sunni's, Shiite's, and Kurd's, it can be easy to please them all on every issue. Any time two parties agree, they left out the third party.
Texas1
Best advice given to me about investing in Iraqi dinar by a currency trader who has not personally invested: invest what you can afford to lose and do not get caught up in the day to day rumors. Continue with your normal life and if it happens to revalue, or if it doesn't, you have not cost yourself any additional stress in your life. To make a million dollars off of a few hundred dollar investment is possible, but a longshot, treat it as such, and don't lose sleep over it.
Inicio
Maliki is not going anywhere. Look how he cleverly manipulated the March election results and is continuing to drag this GOI formation out. Like it or not, he's the bomb in this deal. Their new Constitution is not going to impede him now from what he wants to happen just as it has not to date. This guy is the Iraq PM and whomever he wants in the different positions will ultimately occupy them no matter how long it takes. Bottom line. Western thoughts and ideals unfortunately do not apply here and they never will. The dinar is greatly undervalued and we are all at a loss as to why nothing comes to pass. Said before in previous posts, do not apply western thought processes to Islamic people. Although the CBI supposedly has the power to Iraq's RV, RI, and/or redenomination they will continue to wait until M is satisfied that his power is secure. Thanks PVS for moving this post. 3
deenar
Everytime Allawi throws a fit, Maliki quickly appeases him. Same with the Kurds.
Alf
What is the impact on the Iraqi people when the RV is held up? Its just another day for Iraqis. Every Iraqi that I have talked with are indifferent to an IQD revalue. Daily survival seems to be more important to them. I tend to agree.
Halo9678
I wonder.... Maliki versus Allawi Sadr really doesn't have a nemesis... yet!!! Mahdi Army versus Al Qaeda-Iraq Shia, Sunni, Kurd It looks like a huge pile of WTF topped off with a serving of "Damn it, man!" The return of Sadr really could be used to balance the powers that be. It really could be in his political best interest to do that. I mean he could do that in the best interest of his people and be proclaimed a hero but.... nah... That's just wishful thinking. A plan that benifits everyone including those at the bottom, that cast people in a positive light... The sun isn't up yet... sorry...
