Kaperoni's thoughts #10 - 2011 RV Status

Same here, this sounds very familiar, but after an extensive search online, I can't find the old article. I'll keep looking though, as I'm pretty sure this dates back to when the coins were removed from circulation... 2004? 2005? not sure as I can't completely recall where I read this.

Question though.... if the small denoms and coin usage was such an issue as to cause 'shame' and increasing anger in the Iraqi people - especially since this has allegedly been going on for several months according to the recording, wouldn't there be at least ONE real news article in PRINT about this? I've searched 5 different ME news sources back 6 months or more for print articles quoting Mahmoud Almksusi Chairman of the Economic Development Committee (or anyone else for that matter) about this small denom and coin issue and have come up empty handed. Perhaps someone more astute in online searches can do better than I have.... ?

My internet search all points back to dinar forums and Kaperoni's comments. Nothing is found anywhere else, no print, no video, no interviews, no anonymous tips, nothing. Surely there would be SOMETHING about this in a legitimate news article somewhere, no? Just trying to validate or refute this....

:blink::huh:

Also on the CBI site it states that the coins are NOT in circulation!

Iraq had started removing the larger denoms back in March of 2008, I worked for a contractor from 2007 - 2009. By the time I left, Oct 09, we would hardly ever see a 25k or 10k notes and very few 5k's... when the guys bought dinar from iraqi contractors or the hodgies at the shops on base, they only came with 1k and a few 5k notes. The article makes perfect sense to me. The iraqi gov is going to have to something fast.... tmr would be great..

x2. I often wonder how good the translator is, if it was even translated at all. Not trying to stir the pot or anything, but in this Dinar speculation, one thing I've learned, is not to take ANYONE'S word for anything. Hahahaha! I think that is how a lot of false rumors get major credibility. Multiple people truly believe and then suddenly, it's like common knowledge or something.

ya know, and this isn't directed solely at you Bear, but if you don't LIKE the translation GO HIRE YOURSELF A *%$&*Y*#E** ARABIC translator for CRYIN out loud ......what a bunch of cry babies and lazy sons of witches .....

there I feel better now

According to this, if thats all you have, no worries if things go according to plan. All they want to do is collect those 000 notes as they come into the banking system and take them out of circulation. From what the experts say, thats a good indicator that they intend to move to smaller denominations and at the current value, smaller denoms are worthless, hence this would indicate they intend to RV soon. I'm no expert, just regurgitating what I've been reading. Hope that makes sense.

Exactly, It doesn't make sense to micro manage this wonderful info in a negative fashion. This is what they have always said in their own way about deleting the three zeros from their currency. They even said sometimes last week that the cbi will officially begin their moeny re-circling begining January 4, as they put it

Well my only question is if these bills do in fact exist and there is any risk whatsoever of the larger bills being phased out and not potentially able to be traded in than wouldn't we all want to ensure our investment by purchasing some of these smaller bills? Maybe I'm just crazy but I don't want to take any chances of missing out. If they exist than DinarTrade should be carrying them or at least offering them as an option when purchasing Dinar. Play it safe and own both.

Lots of folks on the PD site said this article is OLD and rehashed... got me just saying how this was debunked earlier today.. someone is going around posting this on all the blog sites

That's what I've tried to say.... in response to a brash of so called 'new' articles popping up right, left and center lately....but I gave up. It is what it is. People will believe anything in order to maintain hope. That's human nature. Yet their hopes get dashed over and over again. Please be wary of rumors that are solely hearsay. Check them out and validate everything you can. The RV will happen when it is destined to happen. When Iraq is ready. At not a moment before. Certainly not on our schedule.

Kaperoni's thoughts #10 - 2011 RV Status - 1/07/2011

I wanted to post a clear explanation of where I think we are in the Dinar process...

Shabibi stated months ago he had completed 70% of the process. What we now know is that meant removing the 25,000, 10,000, 5,000, 1,000 from the banks throughout the country and returning them to the CBI.

In recent days, we also now know that Shabibi is removing the 25,000, 10,000, 5,000, 1,000 notes from the streets of Iraq over the past 60 days leaving only the smaller notes of 500, 250 and 50. This event is causing the people to become frustrated with the lack of buying power and awkwardness of having to use these with a current exchange rate of 1170 to 1.

We can see the plan and the reason behind removing the larger notes (3 zeros) leaving the remaining notes as 1st phase or transition prior to the actual RV. The purpose to do so is to reduce the overall value of currency in circulation as well as get them out of potential dangerous hands post RV. Minimizing the value of the notes on the streets of Iraq only makes sense as leaving such notes would or could be disastrous in many regards.

Shabibi has made it clear his position. He knows the advancement of Iraq will not succeed unless this is a well timed event that has the full support of the marketplace as well as a government that is fully supportive, operational, and complete.

The Parliament appears to be voting next week on Allawi’s Strategic Council. As well, the 3 unfinished GOI positions.

Once that is complete, I think we can begin to get serious about a RV date.

I also believe it is unlikely we will see new smaller denominations such as a 1/2, or 1, 5 10 dinar till post RV. Some smaller notes have surfaced, they are unconfirmed and may very well be outdated. I expect Shabibi’s plan will be to have the people exchange there 500, 250, and 50’s for “new” smaller notes once the new rate takes effect.

I don’t think we are “home free” yet in this process. With political issues to still be resolved, including some new developments, legislation still outstanding including the Hydro Carbon Law, this may take anywhere from 1 week to 2 more months to get worked out. I hope not.

What if all you have is the 25k notes????:mellow::( Discontinued?? Will they not accept them to trade back in when it rvs??

They will just go the way of the U.S. $1000 and $500 bills, they will continue to buy back large denom dinars. It doesn't mean they won't have value, just that they cycle them out of circulation. From what I have read, they will have a several month window in which to cash in. There was an article posted, actually several, here on DV that mentioned $150 million in dinar bought by Sebastian River Holdings. Do you think that Any hard currency they have might be all large denoms? I'm positive they are, Sebastian will be able to cash in just like the rest of us...

Here is a simple search here on DV for Sebastan River Holdings.

The genius in this is that there is no way to prove or disprove it, so look for it to be proclaimed by other gurus in the future the following way " as we all know Iraq has been taking large bills out of circulation for many months" it will soon become fact no matter what the truth is. ;)
