Detect a source familiar with the negotiations conducted with the political blocs, Friday, that the groups had agreed to postpone the parliamentary session that convened by the President of the Age next Monday, as he emphasized that the court’s decision to convene a meeting within 15 days of non-binding.

The source said in an interview with “Alsumaria News”, “The political blocs agreed, on Thursday evening to postpone the parliamentary session, to be held next Monday,” stressing that “the leader of the Kurdistan Alliance Fuad Masum, announced the agreement during a meeting of the blocks today.”

The source, who requested anonymity, that “the meeting was postponed due to lack of political consensus between the blocs,” noting in this connection that “the Federal Court decision to end open meeting did not put a time limit fixed for the holding of the parliamentary session.”

Follows .. The Federal Supreme Court in Iraq issued in the twenty-fourth of the October decision to abolish the president’s decision to the House of Representatives interim Fuad Masum, making an open meeting of the Council and order him to resume meetings of the Council within two weeks.

Article ninety-third of the Iraqi Constitution that the terms of reference of the Federal Court is to control the constitutionality of laws and regulations, and interpretation of the provisions of the Constitution, separation of issues that arise from the application of federal laws, resolutions, regulations, instructions, and procedures issued by the federal authority, and adjudicating disputes that arise between the federal government and regional governments and governorates.

Article 94 of the Iraqi constitution, that the decisions of the Federal Supreme Court are final and binding for all authorities, and formed a court official under Law No. 3 of 2005.

The Federal Court decision to cancel the open meeting and to compel the president of the interim parliament to resume the meetings of Parliament within two weeks to confirm, according to observers reach the political blocs to an agreement on forming a government and choose the presidencies of the three, especially with the termination of the Kurdish delegation of negotiations with all political blocs and the assertion that the National Alliance is the closest to him, It also seems that the decision has been issued after the agreement a number of political blocs to hold a parliamentary session to choose a speaker and his deputies and the President of the Republic, which in turn will cost the candidate the largest bloc in parliament to form a government.

The Federal Court decision to annul the decision stated that the text to make the open session of parliament and the resumption of the first session provided for in Article 55 of the Constitution and constitutional duties, while the resolution did not specify the duration of the meeting.

The civil society organizations, had called earlier in the day Friday, to protest tomorrow in central Baghdad in protest against the violation of the parliament the Iraqi constitution, the establishment of the open meeting, and that after the adjournment of a lawsuit to reclaim large sums of money received by the deputies present at the hearing for twenty minutes, with several legal kind of political pressure to accelerate the formation of the government.

Yes, and if the High Court had done its job June 1st rather than caving in to al-Maliki this would already be done. They seem to either be lying or thumbing their noses ... who knows.

We will see next week.

Well Doc31, it does boil down to a "make it" or "break it" next week for Iraq. I am for the "make it" and move on approach, however, based on past performances of the failed attempts, all we can do is keep them in our prayers and wish for the best. My heart goes out to all of the Iraq citizens that are getting left behind in the chaos that is being created. I will (let's all do this) pray extra hard between now and then for them. God Bless all who has invested in this country and lets hope this is the beginning of the end.
