BREAKING NEWS Barazani receives message from Obamb calling for speeding up forming Iraq’s government

27/10/2010 21:29:00

Erbil (NINA) – Head of Kurdistan region, Massoud Barazani, met on Wednesday, Oct. 27, with a high level American delegation consisted of Vice President Joe Biden’s National Security Advisor, Tony Blinkin, US Ambassador to Iraq, James Geoffrey, and the Commander of American forces in Iraq, General Lloyd Austin.

Informed source said that Blinkin relayed to Barazani a message from US President Barack Obama and Vice President Joe Biden, asserting the US commitment to safeguard Kurdistan’s people and its support to its policies and reconstruction, as well as Iraq’s political process. It affirmed that the US does not support any side in particular and has no red line against any nominee. All it wishes is the forming of a national partnership government and for Iraq to be stable.

For his part, Barazani expressed thanks and gratitude to the both Barak and Biden for the US commitment toward the safety of Kurdistan and its people, praising Biden’s efforts toward forming a genuine national partnership government. He pointed out that certain issues must be settled before forming a government, such as the status of partnership and how the state is to be run within the frames of the Constitution asserting that he has no red line against any because the important is how to manage the states in a constitutional way. / End.

What mkes me think we are in for a longer wait is the fact that there is NO, zero, zilch, nada, nothing in the press anywhere about this historical event. No major news source, or anything. Let me turn it around and ask you this.... What makes you think we are close? All you basically have is the same news from the same sources. I hope I am wrong. I hope it RV's tonight but what makes you think we are close????? Surely not Terry K or the so called GET team!!!

I don't see where this is giving the time frame that's being thrown out there folks. What they're talking about on the partnership is still the HCL and Article 140. Remember the Kurdistan Region wants to keep their major oil fields to themselves, they don't want to share with the rest of the country, they are pretty much and very much an independent state very well established and flourishing within Iraq. They want what they have now and for always, which in my opinion will hurt them in the long run when you look at the untapped and undiscovered areas yet to be established within Iraq, the Al Anbar region is still mostly unexplored and with the recent discoveries there is much more to find. The KRG will survive plenty long on what they have, two of the mega fields are within their borders, the other four mega fields are south. That's where the disagreements are coming from within the KRG Region, not to mention, Turkey wants to appropriate that area for itself, as does Iran...lol It's a helluva tug of war over there, but if they're smart they'll stick with Iraq....which I firmly believe that they are that smart....but they do need to bend a bit more in order to get what they want, scratch my back and I'll scratch yours kinda way. They'll figure it out soon enough. It surely won't take a year or two.

I really do not like the thought of this taking longer than we all want, but... it seems to me there is still a lot of negotiating that needs to be done. And... if they are sincere in wanting to abide by a constitution and doing it right the first time, then indeed they may need more time. How much more remains to be seen. I just think we are going to have to be patient and let this play out. Now I know I probably will get some red marks for my comments, but today... as of right now... this is how it looks to me.

Now this is coming from someone who predicted 3.56 as the RV rate and a date of 10-29-10.

We need to keep our nose out of this. Seems like everytime we send someone to ask/tell them to hurry up, they go into slow motion. Looked like we may be getting close to seeing the GOI form, now I'd like to see if they again go into a snails pace... oops they are already there, how much slower can or will they go? IMO

Go RV/RI B)
