08/10/2010 13:44:00

Kirkuk (NINA)- A number of independent political figures and members of Iraqi Communist Party demonstrated before Kirkuk Province Office demanding the dissolution of the newly elected parliament and holding new elections.

Secretary of Kikuk Branch of Iraqi Communist Party Raysan Hussain has told National Iraqi News Agency (NINA) today: "These crowds have met here to demand the dissolution of parliament, to form national unity government, to stay away from sectarian and factional allocations, and for the Federal Court to do its real jobs and take serious decisions regarding the current situation."

"The continuation of the current government as an interim government is unconstitutional", he added./End/

Yeah the last elections held on March 7th didn't seem to stick... what makes you think that another election would prove to be effective?

I agree people are sick of it... none more that the Iraqi people.

Wish they would stop using words like "soon", "should", "could" and phrases like "the next few days..."

Needs to happen now. And yes Maliki is the problem. Circumvented the last election process and most of their so called Constitution. The people have already spoken under extreme conditions.

Let the last election stand and seat the government already. Power and authority sharing seem to be their only direction to go.

Too much momentum in the right direction for this country to do anything other than form a government and re-value their currency.

If the UN stepped in, New Elections would be the second order of business... The first being to dissolve the current GOI and it's constituencies. So, if they don't resolve soon; there will definitely be another election. But I say whichever, let's make sure whoever gets in; will be a sound choice that is confidently supported by the people to ensure stability for not only the IQD, but investment opertunities as well. Clearly the US investors are leary of investing with the current political and security environment. We need US companies invested over there. Even the business they do so far away from home will generate jobs and income back here in the US. JMIO

The difference is the last administration said they had enough of the B/S when they tried doing it the last time. So after 4 months and no government cheney went over there and appointed who would be in office. They all seen what maliki took will in office , now everybody wants a piece of that pie. The rioting is good news" it might threaten them enough in to thinking they'all lose their plush postions, and get it done. Binden threats sure ain't working.... ;)
