Tom
The Abu Dhabi Securities Market announced the official start of trading on the "Tabadul" platform by the Iraq Stock Exchange, making it the eighth market to join the platform, which is the first of its kind in the region and is based on a model of mutual access between markets. It currently includes 11 markets. This step allows investors in Iraq to trade securities listed on the Abu Dhabi Securities Market directly, enhancing trading opportunities between the two markets and expanding the scope of investment connectivity and strategic relations between them. The "Tabadul" platform allows investors to trade between participating markets smoothly, with settlements completed in local currencies, and without the need for double listing or custodian services. The platform also connects a number of financial markets in Abu Dhabi, Bahrain, Muscat, Astana, Kazakhstan, Armenia, Southern Africa and Iraq. With the addition of the Iraq Stock Exchange, Tabadul today brings together markets with a total market value exceeding one trillion US dollars, and includes 700 listed companies and more than 11 million registered investors. On this occasion, Abdullah Salem Al Nuaimi, CEO of Abu Dhabi Securities Market Group, said: "As the region's economies become increasingly interconnected, direct investment channels are gaining increasing importance in supporting sustainable growth and facilitating the flow of capital between the most prominent regional markets". The Iraqi Stock Exchange's joining the "Tadawul" platform gives investors a clear and direct path to trading shares of Iraqi companies, while at the same time enhancing Abu Dhabi's role as a leading trading center. Strengthening the "Tabadul" platform also contributes to supporting Abu Dhabi Vision 2030 and the long-term economic development strategy, by enhancing liquidity in the market and opening new channels of growth linking financial markets to Abu Dhabi. Ali Jamal Amin, Executive Director of the Iraq Stock Exchange, said: "The ringing of the bell today represents the official start of trading on the Iraq Stock Exchange via the "Tabadul" platform, at an important milestone to enhance cooperation and integration between the capital markets in Iraq and Abu Dhabi". This also opens new opportunities to enhance cross-border connectivity and trading, expanding access to regional financial markets and enhancing investment opportunities for market participants." The Iraqi Stock Exchange is headquartered in Baghdad, and continues the process of trading securities in Iraq, whose roots go back to 1939. The market was launched in its current form in 2004, and the number of companies listed in it increased from 15 companies to 103 companies, with a total market value of 21.7 billion US dollars in August 2026. The market includes stocks, government bonds and corporate debt instruments, providing them with the necessary financing to expand and contribute to Iraq's economic development. The Abu Dhabi Securities Exchange launched the "Tabadul" platform in July 2022 as the first digital exchange center in the region that adopts a mutual market access model. The platform provides a digital network that connects stock exchanges and allows investors to trade securities in international markets, and also enables brokerage companies cooperating with these markets to access them remotely. Tabadul allows investment in shares of companies operating in various sectors, including banking, finance, energy and telecommunications. The expansion of "Tabadul" comes at a time when record levels of trading activity are being recorded, as the value of trading through it has reached 13.5 billion dirhams so far during the year 2026, exceeding the total value recorded during the entire year 2025. This performance reflects the growing interest of investors in the region in seamless access to investment opportunities across markets, along with the continued momentum towards enhancing capital market integration. https://www.skynewsarabia.com/business/1895125-سوق-العراق-للأوراق-المالية-ينضم-رسميا-منصة-تبادل?utm_source=hathalyoum.net&utm_medium=referral&utm_campaign=news_redirect
