Reuters revealed that Iran issued warnings to the Gulf states, asserting that any new American attack on its territory would be met with attacks on energy facilities and vital infrastructure in the region, in an attempt to raise the cost of any military escalation and put pressure on Washington’s regional allies.

 

The agency quoted five informed sources, including two Iranian officials, two Gulf sources, and a regional diplomat, as saying that the warnings came through a series of high-level diplomatic contacts, following US President Donald Trump's threat to strike Iran's energy network and infrastructure.

 

According to the report, Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araqchi contacted his counterparts in Saudi Arabia, Turkey, and Qatar, as well as the Pakistani army chief, urging US allies to use their influence with Trump to prevent further strikes against Iran. He informed them that Tehran would target US interests and Gulf energy facilities if attacked.

 

The sources explained that the Iranian threat included oil and gas facilities, refineries, oil fields, electricity, water and transportation networks, and that the message was directed to all Gulf countries, but was mainly conveyed through Saudi Arabia and Qatar.

 

According to Reuters, Tehran is using the threat of targeting Gulf infrastructure to push regional countries to pressure Washington and convince it that any new attack would have broad economic and security repercussions that could threaten global energy exports and ignite a comprehensive regional confrontation.

 

In response, Gulf states moved to contain the escalation, with Saudi Arabia, Qatar, and Oman urging the US administration to return to negotiations and avoid another round of military conflict. Saudi Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman also pressed Trump to postpone any military action and give diplomacy a chance to achieve a ceasefire and a political settlement.

 

But Riyadh informed mediators, according to one Gulf source, that it would defend its territory and respond militarily to any attack targeting it, at a time when Saudi Arabia believes that combining proportionate military responses and continued pressure on Iran in the Strait of Hormuz could pave the way for a practical settlement.

 

The Iranian leadership believes that Washington is now faced with two difficult choices: either escalating the confrontation in a way that could ignite the Gulf and disrupt energy supplies, or accepting a negotiated agreement that falls short of the decisive victory the US administration seeks to declare. A regional diplomat indicated that one of the main obstacles to an agreement is Washington's desire to emerge with an outcome it can present as a political and military triumph.

Iran is still playing the bully to the Gulf countries, and they are cowering, afraid of what Iran "MIGHT BE ABLE TO DO". There is no real evidence as to how much damage they can actually cause with US forces monitoring every move, and will strike any location firing a missile or drone within minutes. Plus the Gulf countries have some missile defenses and air forces to down any drones. They need to be prepared, and stop being afraid. Iran is showing it's true colors by this blatant threat to it's BROTHERLY Muslim nations.
