To me one of the best guitarists ever ( but I realize it's all a matter of personal taste....)

 

Was lucky enough to see him perform in 1991 right here in Trento...Along with another guitarist, maybe a bassist ( can't recall exactly) and an Indian drummer ( who would play while sitting on the ground....)

 

John was 28 when he rec'd this album ( in a NYC studio with US musicians...He was the only non-US artist in the group)

Carlos Santana (in a live album again w Buddy Miles who plays the original right here below )  made a version of this one  and so did also ( if I recall correctly)  UK keyboardist Brian Auger who has in his repertoire a few JML songs ( Dragon song etc).....

 

To me the original is still the best ( stunning B.Miles on drums)
