Iraq's transportation ministry has signed a deal with Swiss company "Global Refinery". The deal includes the purchase of 66 ocean going freighters, none of them being over 5-years old. The ships will be leased for a 5-year period. There are over one thousand maritime workers without work due to the lack of ships. The Swiss firm will train the Iraqi employees. The deal will end up with over 80 vesels.
